The house was perfect for my family of 4. Enjoyed the view from the patio very much. Location was great, close enough that made for an easy walk anywhere you wanted to go but tucked just enough up the hill so we weren’t disturbed by the noice downtown. Definitely recommend this great house and would book again for any future visits to the island!

Great little place! Typical quaint Catalina house. Luckily no one is too tall so our heads didn’t hit the roof! Hahah but all in all it was cute and perfect for what we needed. Porch and distance to town is perfect. Small thing.. towels really thin and old. No Kleenex. Some door/window latches don’t totally work and the split bathroom (1 has shower and sink and 1 has toilet and sink) was interesting but worked out. We appreciate the stay and communication was wonderful.

So glad you enjoyed the porch, the location, and that classic, quaint Catalina charm, and that communication made things easy along the way! We're currently going through and replacing towels on a rolling basis and are sorry yours weren't up to standards. In a 120 year old house we're always working through wear and tear, and the window latches are next on our list to address. As for the split bathroom, it does take some getting used to, but it's a fun nod to the old days and tends to come in handy when getting ready to head downtown. We appreciate you sharing all this feedback and are glad the overall stay worked out well.

This is a cozy house close to everything you need in Avalon. We loved the selection of DVDs and the kitchen was well stocked.

The house was perfect. It was close to everything and the walk from the ferry was easy. It took less than 10 minutes to get to the house. The house was a cute beach cottage. It was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our own breakfasts and lunches with the groceries we purchased from Vons. I liked that there is a little footpath that goes almost directly from the house to the Vons so it’s easy to run down for anything. My husband loved the historic photos and art within the house. We appreciated that the house had a lot of windows that could be opened to create a nice breeze through the house because it was pretty warm on the island during our stay. We had a wonderful family trip! Thank you!

Trout House

We came to stay at the Trout House for a milestone birthday celebration on the Island. I picked the house because of the outside deck and view. We really enjoyed the house, the history, and our time on Catalina.

Avalon Gem

Small upstairs home with wonderful charm and character. Nice layout, 2bdrm and separated bathroom...water closet/sink and tub shower/sink. Makes it very manageable with two couples. Great outdoor covered patio with peekaboo view of the harbor.

Everything We Could Have Wanted And More!

We loved our stay! The house had everything we needed. It was so conveniently walkable to town. The biggest pleasant surprise was the front porch. We spent almost all our waking time out there. It had a view of the ocean and when it rained, was covered enough that we could still sit outside and not get wet. I would definitely stay there again!

Great Location, Loved the outdoor deck

We stayed the weekend for our friend's birthday and enjoyed the relaxing view and deck.Charming house and easy to get to from the main downtown area.The only thing I would change is the bathroom situation. It is a little odd that it is split up into to areas. other than that, we would definitely stay here again!!!

Great Summer Getaway!!

My family and I had a great stay at Trout House! Perfect location, close enough to everything but far enough away for a quiet stay. Beds were comfy, used the very functional kitchen. The place is rustic but everything works well, awesome water pressure and love the history of the house. Great deck for relaxing after a day of exploring. We would definitely stay again!

Review of Trout HouseFive stars means it hits every thing on a list and was super stellar or perfect. We give this lovely house 4 stars. It was a wonderful quirky old house. Did some of the things need attention to be more than 4 stars, yes. Did it detract from our stay, no. The 2 issues we had were quickly and satisfactorily addressed. We loved hanging out on the covered deck. The limited view of the ocean was great. This old quirky house had an interesting layout. It's location gave us walking workouts up and down the steep streets to and from the house. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was useable. It had lots of windows and light coming in everywhere. Cloth grocery shopping bags provided. Would we come back for another stay? Yes indeed we would. Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing weekend.

A great little place for our weekend getaway with 2 Adults and 2 teenagers. It's close to the main shopping and dining area and the Vons supermarket is also a short walk. It's an older house with character, a little cramped, but expected due to being built in the early 1900s! Overall, we had a fantastic stay.

The Perfect Escape

I can't imagine a better place to enjoy some time on Catalina, especially for the price. It was everything we wanted, a block from the beach, with a sweet breezy deck with great views that I could have stayed on the whole visit. Such a fun little town, so easy to get to, but *worlds away* from LA. Will be back!
