About this property
Steps to the bay and the ocean!!
Very small (under 400 sq ft) & cozy 1 bedroom located in the heart of San Diego's most famous beach community. Just steps to Mission Bay, the beach, the Boardwalk and Belmont Park, Only 1.5 blocks to the beach, and only two doors from the Bay! Only has 1 queen bed and a very small sofa for a small child.
Please note, this is literally the center of MB, less than a block from Belmont, which is great, but expect a lot of people and possibly traffic congestion especially during spring & summer.
While some may compare San Diego's Mission Beach to the East Coast's Atlantic City and Coney Island, there is a unique Southern California vibe you can't find anywhere else here. Nestled between Pacific Beach on the north side, and Belmont Park on its southern side, Mission Beach offers a lively and robust variety of activities in the sun, surf and sand. From hot dog stands to fine dining eateries, hot night clubs to street performers, expect to find all kinds of free-spirited beach goers in a fun, carnival-like atmosphere along the sandy shores.
Photos were taken in 2015. Please expect normal wear and tear over that time period. Furniture and furnishings may be different than pictured as items are replaced and updated.

We had a great time. Property was very nice, very peaceful. Wish there was air-conditioning though. It did get very hot at times. Once you open up the house, it’s pretty nice. The vans were very helpful.
Drew was very accommodating and prompt to questions we had. Perfect set up for what we were looking for

Personal time
No blankets in the house. I call for a blanket never received it. They also had small roaches in the house. Picture shown is misleading. Not that close to beach.
We recently stayed here and while the location was excellent—steps from the beach and close to restaurants—the overall experience was difficult and disappointing. The main issue was the lack of air conditioning during a heat wave (90 degrees). The “solution” offered was a few fans, which did help when the sun went down. I have health conditions, including upcoming sinus surgery and breathing issues, and sleeping in that heat was nearly impossible. Out of desperation, I had to drag the bed into the living room to sleep next to the sliding door, which didn’t even lock securely. For someone with PTSD from years in law enforcement and traumatic experiences with home break ins, being forced to sleep with an open door was extremely stressful. I averaged maybe 3 hours of sleep a night. It was my wife’s and I first vacation as a married couple. We don’t have much money so it’s not like we could just get a hotel room. As mentioned, the location is beautiful but it was not cool in the apartment until the later evening. I don’t want to come across as just hammering the host, because the space itself was a nice little spot in a fantastic location. But the uncomfortable conditions really overshadowed what could have been a great stay. For future guests, I think it’s important to be clear that this rental does not have adequate cooling which needs to be directly presented in the details.
The property and room was exceptionally clean. The pictures are very outdated. They definitely need a screen in the shower window, which they said they are going to correct immediately. The fan that was in the closet was broken and they are going to correct that (I hope soon). You definitely need to open the patio door to cool the apartment down. My flaw was I would love to leave that door open and keep the apartment cool, but if you do that, somebody could easily walk through a screen. Parking is in front of your apartment. You do have two parking spaces. Out of four apartments, one never has a parking spot. Make sure you clarify this prior to booking. It is very close to everything, there are bike rentals nearby, but we had a car. We recommend you back into your parking spot, since you will be pulling out on one of the busiest streets near Mission Beach. This apartment is wonderful. Just thought you should know a few things if you’re going to stay there. By the way, on one of my last days, I discovered, ice chests, chairs, boogie boards, kids toys, sand toys, in one of their storage areas. The two ice chest and chairs were kept upstairs on the deck. The rest were kept in the storage area on the left side of the house. I would absolutely stay at this place again!! So do not get me wrong by what I told you earlier. It was just so you know the ins and outs of Mission Beach area.
We absolutely love this place! Be sure to read this description, it is small and it is in a fairly busy area with a nightlife in Mission Beach.
We had no trouble with noise though. It’s easy access to the bay and the beach and lots of restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.
Owners were extremely responsive and very easy to work with as well. In our opinion, there’s no downside to this stay location.
Short walk to beach and boardwalk. Traffic noise is an issue, but location for beach access very good value

Poor representation of property
Location was very noisy as it was on the main street. The accommodation was advertised as sleeping 4 adults. One queen size bed up against the wall with a framed sign on the wall telling occupants to "please do not attempt to use, sleeper sofa is inoperable".
Couch slanted toward floor, so you rolled off during the night. No drawers anywhere to store clothing, and no hangers in the small closet. The furniture was pictured as white and was all grey (unimportant, but not accurate). 3 towels for 3 people for a 6 night stay. My point, for the most part, is that it should be advertised as a cute, small accommodation for a couple. We made the best of it.
