About the host
Hosted by Alitha Young
This property has been in my family for over 70 years since my grandparents purchased it in 1944. I spent all of my summers growing up here, so it's a very special place for me.
In 2014, my husband and I had the opportunity to purchase the property from my aunt and we were very excited. The house was in need of extensive repairs and updates so we took on a renovation that covered well over a year, repairing or replacing everything from the roof to the plumbing, electrical and heating systems. We added a brand new kitchen, many new bathrooms, new decks, patio and landscaping, and expanded the house's footprint to include a new kitchen and dining area for the Townhouse rental unit. It was a lot of hard work but we are extremely happy with the beautiful results!
Why they chose this property
Not only is this property special to me personally because of my family history with the property, but it is such a unique and beautiful place to everyone who comes here. The gorgeous farmhouse on a spectacular piece of harbor front property is truly breathtaking. I feel lucky every day when I wake up and look out at the incredible sparkling water!
What makes this property unique
Sitting out on the bench at the point and watching the boats come in and out of the harbor is one of my favorite things. The light on the water is always so brilliant and always changing. Getting on the water with the kayaks and exploring the harbor, coves and inlets up close is one of my other favorite things to do.
