Just fantastic location and awesome views of the pool, ocean, palms in the tropical oasis of Maui Sunset. Super popular, wonderful location just easy access to pool, grounds, and amenities of the Maui Sunset.

Large private condominium apartment at the resort condominium complex on the beach in sunny Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. One bedroom with private attached bathroom. 2nd bathroom down the hall with shower, large living area, dining area, kitchen with breakfast bar. Large private view deck looking out towards ocean. Beach chairs, beach/pool towels, full size appliances including air conditioning and washer dryer. Really, just hit the grocery store and you are set for the week!

General Info:
The Maui Sunset is located on over 5 acres of oceanfront at Kihei which is considered one of the best locations on the Valley Isle. Kihei is noted for its year-round sunshine, balmy trade winds, and soothing evening air. It is one of the driest and sunniest areas on the entire island, averaging only 10 inches a year! World famous swimming and snorkeling beaches are minutes away at one of the many sandy safe beaches at Kihei and nearby Wailea. Just a short distance (6 miles) from five championship 18-hole resort golf courses at Wailea and Makena. The two buildings frame and protect a large recreational area that is carefully attended and landscaped. The 60-foot swimming pool with its broad decks and abundance of pool furniture invites you to improve on your tan.

Occasionally pests from outside can make their way in... including a roach, however the usually die quickly as there is a building wide pest control service. On the water, short drive to grocery stores/restaurants. Very nice grounds with tennis courts, pool, shuffleboard, and a putting green, all of which was free including equipment rentals. Unit was clean, somewhat dated furnishings/decor, good bed in the bedroom, and nice to have a pullout couch + a Murphy bed in the main room.

It certainly was over priced and far below the standard of the other timeshares we have stayed at before.

Aloha, Thank you for staying and sharing with us your experience. You mention you did not book a timeshare condo. Looks like it was booked through an online travel agent for an economy partial view, our least expensive condo. This condo has all the same amenities, however is a bit dated in the kitchen and bathrooms. March is a higher season with the Whales out in the bay and the great weather. Maui Sunset is a great value for the oceanfront location. We do hope you try us again in the future. Mahalo

Great location, lousy comfort

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the location in Kihei but the accommodations were a challenge. First, the air conditioners were both on times that had to be constantly reset. Imagine having to get up every hour overnight to turn the A/C back on. Ridiculous! Also, there was a bathroom counter whose corner was right in the path of the toilet (at an odd 45 degree angle) - perfectly located to cut leave a large bruise and cut on my leg because I had the audacity to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Aloha, Thank you for taking a moment to review the condo. Maui Sunset is one of the few condo properties with A/C and they do have 4 hour timers to conserve electricity. Unfortunately in Maui majority of the power comes from oil. To help we've installed ceiling fans in all the rooms and provided information on best practices on the A/C. I would have like to have the ability to address some of your concerns while you were on island. Hopefully you will return and we can make it up to you. Mahalo, Steve

Great pool and even played shuffleboard with palm trees and ocean in the background. Had great outdoor music on Tuesdays. Very close 2 minute walk to beach and 15 minutes to restaurants with markets along the way. Only 20 minutes from airport. Great location. Our condo was well equipped. Would definitely stay again.

Our rental was very clean, but as mentioned in some other reviews, it was quite dated. I knew this upon booking, but I wanted to save some money on accommodations so I could use it towards other experiences. Maintenance and house keeping were very responsive when we needed something. The complex itself is very quiet at night, and the security guard was very nice.

Appreciated the soap, shampoo, and salt and pepper. Also, really appreciated the chairs,towels and games. The grounds were nicely manicured.Not so good was our coffee pot did not work, went down to reception area. The person told me to contact my management company, so I did, left a message but received no return call. The hot tub broke the day after we got there and was not fixed until the day we left. The barbecues were also out of order for about a day and a half.

Excellent resort but unit less so

The office staff and security guard were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, our specific unit (B211) wasnot so. I was told that it was owned by an individual and not part of the usual timeshare association. On a scale of 1 to 10, we wouldgive it a 5. It had bsdly damaged moldings, stained drapes,chipped bathtub, missing closet doors, crowded closets to name a few shortcomings.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I had a great time at Maui Sunset. The only thing that was less than perfect were a couple things in the room. The living room air conditioner did not work. There were a couple ants when we first got there, but they seemed to go away. The last thing was the top of the fridge, that most people can’t see. That might have been what was causing the ants. There were a lot of sprinkles that looked like they came off a cake or something. I wiped them all up with a wet paper towel. We didn’t really need the A/C in the living room. We just let the doors open and then vent. Other people might need it though. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay and had a great time using the pool and tennis courts.

Clean and Convenient

Condo was extremely clean and in a convenient location. Had all the kitchen utensils and flatware/silverware I needed to BBQ and serve dinner for a family of 4. Beach umbrella is broken but the 2 chairs were great to have. It was a quiet and peaceful location and with the amenities(pool, hot tub, tennis courts, etc), I'll certainly visit again! I didn't need to talk to the property manager for anything, and the front desk was great upon check-in. Owner communication was minimal, only because there wasn't much to talk about. Was given instructions for checking in and that was all that was needed. I will gladly use this condo again for my next trip! Thank You! The only thing I would have liked to have access to would have been some type of cooler/cold bag for beach trip beverages and snacks.

Just ok.

Maui Sunset is a great property. It’s quiet, the pool is great and the grounds are immaculate. We have stayed at Maui Sunset multiple times. This condo is just ok. The communication with the owner is minimal. The condo is very minimally stocked. The kitchen is bare bones in terms of utensils, dishes, etc. Be prepared to purchase everything from salt and pepper to Saran Wrap, tin foil, & containers as none of this is provided. There are minimal beach towels and bedding as well as virtually nothing for the beach besides a broken umbrella & 2 beach chairs. The hide a bed is very uncomfortable & in need of replacement, our children had a very difficult time sleeping on it. I expressed these concerns to the owner and received no response. I would pick a different condo at Maui Sunset as the price for this one was higher than others & was not as nice nor nearly as well-stocked as other condos we have stayed at.

Reviewer Comments: Some of the rooms have been updated and are nice the one I stayed in was not and was dirty, washer smelt of mold old carpet hardly any kitchen supplies coffee pot didn’t even work. Don’t stay in #212. Ms should have informed at booking that this unit was not updated. The woman at the front desk was not friendly or helpful. Parking is full every day so get there early. Very slow elevators. Would not stay here again
