Private entrance. Lower level of my home. Two rooms with a private bath (shower) kitchenette (no oven) on lower level of home. View: Pebble Beach Forest and off toward the ocean. Floor to ceiling windows. Working wood-burning fireplace. Queen memory foam mattress. Deck with table, chairs and chaise. Free parking. Wireless internet, Tv, VCR, Turntable, many books.Peaceful. NOTE: The access is down a hill on walkway as represented in photo. Need to carry, not roll, any luggage. There are a few steps to the deckannd 2 in the unit it is built into a hillside. Ceiling might be low if you are over 6’2”. Microwave/convection oven, outdoor grill, toaster, burner. Coffee (French press pot) and tea provided as well as snacks, instant oatmeal, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap, hairdryer, wall heaters, portable fan, games, books, many other amenities. Laundry room available - shared with owner.

Perfect location for me to stay in this cool studio in Carmel Woods. Beautiful view and deck. It’s always a little cold when I’m there for the golf tournament, but one of these times I’ll stay when it’s warmer.

Relaxing stay

Great location and comfortable rental! My wife, dog and I stayed here for just a couple of nights and everything was great and as described. You feel right at home here and the bed was very comfortable!

Amazing forest views in Carmel Woods

A quirky and unique space at the top of Carmel Woods. With an amazing view of Del Monte forest. I especially enjoyed the hummingbirds feeding.

Perfect quiet getaway

Carmel Studio

We really enjoyed our stay in your charming studio apartment. Loved the endless forest views and the peace and tranquility. Enjoyed the fireplace so much and the comfy furniture. Kitchen was big enough for what we needed. Look forward to staying there in the future.

Loved it!!

Excellent location, beautiful home and I had a wonderful time. I watched the sunset in Carmel at the sea 8 minutes away. I did a whale watching tour with Sea Goddess 20 min away in Moss Landing and we saw whales for hours. Ty

Not as advertised. Said a few steps, there were many both inside and out the building. Not a good place for seniors. Young people would have no difficulties. We left after one night. Second time staying with VRBO not again.

Wild weather week in Carmel!

Second time at Carmel woods location. Enjoyable. Weather was challenging with wind and rain. I was there as a volunteer for the Pebble Beach AT&T. Electricity went off in the area for at least 24 hours - tournament was called.

The studio was clean. No paper to light a fire and only 1 space heater. The walkway was a little unsafe but overall the studio was in a great location and had everything that we needed at a great price.

Solid but not spectacular

Overall, I thought the place was fine. It is a great location and very safe. It was a little close to the freeway for my taste and you could hear cars but that is fine. They provided heaters but without the heaters it does get very cold. So make sure to turn those on. Otherwise, I would give it a solid B+

Perfect Little Getaway

Wonderful, quiet, central location, and perfect spot for a quick getaway. It’s hard to find a good spot to rent for a couple with dogs. This relaxing studio was more than we expected with an entry and kitchenette separate from the bedroom with fireplace and separate from a dressing room next to the bathroom. The dogs loved all the smells and visited Charlie at his dog door. The owners are very easy going and very excited to visit the dogs—or I mean saying hi to the dogs when they went to visit them. Such an easy stay with the fenced yard and dog door! The dogs just used the dog door and enjoyed the yard. We will definitely stay here again.

Quaint

Unfortunately my stay was not ideal. A dog that barked quite a bit. I’m a light sleeper so it did affect my stay. This unit is below the main home so there was lots of noise coming from the ceiling. Creaking floorboards and plenty of steps from the dog walkers walking in/out. It’s spacious but was really not very clean. Lots of cobwebs and spiders. Bathroom sink that didn’t drain properly. On a positive note the bed was super comfy. And the sheets were freshly laundered.

Carmel Woods

Carmel Woods was just as described. Great location in the woods. We saw a bobcat meander right beneath our window! Short distance to Carmel by the Sea, Monterey, and Pacific Grove.

Lovely hideaway in the woods

VRBO - easy to find this fabulous property. Had 3 different seating areas including outside on a deck with views of the wood. Small kitchen had everything you could possibly want. Small bathroom but fabulous shower. Amazing comfy bed . Great directions and welcome instructions from the owner.

Charming Carmel Experience

We had a great visit to this charming Carmel home. The home is at the edge of a forest with a spectacular view from a private deck. The hosts were kind and helpful. Being dog friendly was great! We enjoyed our stay.

Dog friendly stay in great location

The property was clean and included all that we needed. It felt very dog friendly, and our brief interaction with the host was pleasant. The location was convenient, in a nice residential neighborhood close to Carmel. The bed was comfortable, and altho the space felt a bit cramped, it was certainly good value for the price, and met our needs.

Wonderful, relaxing stay in the forest canopy!

This suite was perfect for recuperating and relaxing after 3 days of hiking in a big sur area. Susanne and Reg were perfectly accommodating and very hospitable. The suite feels like you are perched in the forest canopy because of the beautiful view that it offers. It was wonderful to have the kitchenette and fireplace. We made great use of both! Thanks for a lovely stay

I am an opera singer, teacher and writer in my late 60's. I travel a lot so I know what tenants are looking for. My sweetheart, Reg, lives with me, as well as our sweet dog Shawna.
We are also both parents of adult children. We tend to leave people to themselves unless something is needed.

Why they chose this property

Location with an ocean and forest view, privacy, fenced garden, deck, beauty, quiet. There are neighbors but one cannot see their homes from my house. Also, the property backs onto Pebble Beach Forest which is undeveloped. We are up at top of a hill so we have amazing birds in the treetops, and we see deer, quail and other wildlife.
