Holiday house was spacious and has relaxing garden. Everything was as expected, we really had good time. I would definitely recommend this house as it is in convenient location.
A lovely rustic cottage, with everything we needed, a well equipped kitchen, a cosy living room, a large dining room, and the games room was a hit with the teenagers, all close to beautiful beaches.

This home is situated in a brilliant location for travelling and exploring. Goat communications was good. Our family had a brilliant time, and we saw so much. The home does suffer damp and there is black mold (quite a lot in the living room), dust, spider webs, the sofa and blankets were damp and to sit on you can feel the moisture. The rug in front of the fire was actually rotted to the carpet. The home does have carpet moths infestation also. The drains outside are blocked from the gravel in the garden in it. The washing machine is broken, as is one of the windows, the gate to property is broken and needs lifting but due to heavyness, watch your back, and most windows don't fully open due to rust/being seized up. The garden is not dog secure, so if you are taking your fury family, if they don't have recall, please watch them when in the garden as they can escape easily. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, plates etc... loo roll was available when we arrived. Even though the home was very dirty and damp (we did give it the best clean we could with the time we had) as a family we made good memories.
Absolutely Beautiful old Farmhouse with loads of character..very well equipped with everything you need and so peaceful and quiet.Definitely could do with some TLC but this would not put us off staying again..gorgeous place..like home from home..Great size garage with table tennis and snooker table, hours of fun for us adults Detached with lovely garden and outdoor seating.. perfect!!!!
The house is very nice, plenty of space with the games area too. There were a couple of inconsistencies with the listing, but these were sorted by the owner.
The location was great, we even saw deer in the garden but the overall property needs a little TLC,everything you need there for a large family and we did enjoy it but felt there is room for improvement
Had a great time and greatly appreciate the owners allowing us to have the Easter weekend.
The house is traditional Cornish so don’t expect instagram hotel luxury or you will be disappointed, but if you want to embrace the Cornish build it is an impressive pad with plenty of parking and a great base for all of Cornwall. Thanks to Bridget, we had a great time

The area is nice and quiet and overall the house is pleasant enought. It is in need of some much needed investment, everything is very tired and the TV is one of the first ever colour models. There is also a very strong smell of damp.
Enough beds for all. Plenty of room for three generations to enjoy without being under each others feet. Well equipped kitchen. Older grandchild liked the games room and younger ones liked the garden.
My Family stayed at the old farm house in January, i live just down the road so it was extremely convenient for ua all to come together to celebrate my mums birthday. The house was extremely warm and comfortable, there was plenty of kitchen equipment for us to create meals in large quantities and dine all together. We all had a lovely time.
On arrival, the farmhouse looked lovely. Loads of space and seating areas. The children loved the games room and spent a lot of time up there. They also loved the bedroom as it meant they could all share. The area was a great base for travelling either inland or to all the numerous beaches that were near by.
I would definitely recommend the farmhouse to people as its a great space for large groups.
Great, clean and well equipped cottage. Enough parking for three big cars with a good size garden, game room which entertained us all. Beach equipments and bits allowed us to enjoy beach days every day. We would definetly recommend this plays. Fantastic for 8 adults, 4 children and a dog....the space is spectacular huge....never felt crowded and enough space for everyone to chill in their own way. Thank you to lovely owners who responded quickly to any questions we had. One think I would like to say....the duvet size wasn't as stated by owners and we brought bed sheets for double size duvet but actually there were king size duvet on double beds. Otherwise ....this place has no faults to point out.

This house has so much potential however I think ALL BOOKINGS SHOULD BE CANCELLED until some fundamental issues are rectified. The biggest issue is the damp. This is obviously a known issue the whole house smelt awful. The rain caused a leak in the downstairs toilet, water was dripping from the ceiling. The cleanliness is a big issue, the carpets were filthy, the walls were dirty and the sofas were stained and smelly. Some of the curtains were mouldy and the duvets were dirty. There were a few key safety issues, namely, 2 windows downstairs where the mechanism was bent making it very difficult to close. Also the Barn door style back door was very dangerous for the children. The top half and bottom half do not connect and therefore 2 of the children trapped their fingers quite badly. If there is no way to connect the 2 halves then a latch should be fitted to ensure the top half can be secured open. The games room was a huge disappointment. It looked nothing like the pictures, I questioned where the foosball table was, I was informed that it was broken a few weeks ago and they couldn't find a suitable alternative and that the website should have been updated. I checked and whilst the pictures of the games room had been removed the blurb still described a full games room. The games room was one of the main reasons we booked this property and if there were any significant changes to the amenities we should have been informed.
What can I say :) everything about this experience and the property was perfect for us whilst we were working. The location was perfect for us to get to site each day (less than a 5 minute drive away!) the fire for us was a highlight as it just made the property so cosy and warm. rooms were spacious and perfect for us to set up the travel cot ( the host was really helpful when we were trying to locate this) we have already said that we would look to book again in the future if we are ever back down this way.

Good overall.
Good base for our days out. Everything that was needed was provided, couldn't complain. The photos made the Games Room look much more spectacular than it actually was. Lovely, quiet location and the children enjoyed the run of the house.
Had a lovely week - great base to see much of Cornwall.
Well equipped farmhouse and very comfortable even with 11 people across 3 family groups. Could do with some TLC and modernising but great value for money
Lovely old farmhouse, great for a 3 generation get away. Could probably do with another toilet for 11 people but we managed for the week. Great cooking facilities and grandparents loved how warm the house was! Excellent location to explore Cornwall.
Great location with easy access to all attractions
The farmhouse is very spacious with plenty of seating/dining areas. I was a bit confused about the bathrooms by the description but basically there is one main bathroom with toilet upstairs (shared), a separate WC downstairs and a separate shower room by the back door downstairs; the other WC is in the garage/games room which we didn’t use.
We had some lovely weather and would have loved to have dined in the garden some days but there is no outside seating (although shown in photo), we improvised and sat either on the steps or pulled out a couple of deck chairs.
The whole property needs a good clean and some TLC - but this added to the charm of it for us!
Brilliant location, really close to the A30 so easy access to both north and south coasts - we love Cornwall and will definitely recommend this to our friends and family.
Great location and loads of space with all you need for a great vacation, only let down by poor cleanliness.

About the host

The Old Farmhouse has been in the Marsh family since 1996. Most of this time it has been a family holiday home catering at times for up to 20 people! It is still owned by Fred and Brenda Marsh - our parents, both (supposedly) retired now and in their 80's. Fred was originally in telecom electronics and did his National Service in the Royal Navy based at RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall - that's his ship you can see in the picture in the dining room! Day to day running and the taking of bookings is now done by their children (us). Home for Fred and Brenda is in Hertfordshire, after 50 years of living in North London.
Why they chose this property
Family holidays in the 70s and 80s were taken in Cornwall but always under canvas! Fortunately the younger generation rebelled and 'forced' Mum and Dad to invest in bricks and mortar - hence the Old Farmhouse. The place has been treated as a real home from home over the years with four generations of our family there at once, on some occasions - there are some family pictures and a lot of memories around the place. The beaches and the places we visit during our time spent there now are the same as when we were kids - they still hold the same fascination.
What makes this property unique
This is a excellent chill out house - family dining, playing cards, American table tennis and dozing in front of the real fire. This is usually because during the day we are hiking along the coastal paths, playing cricket on the beach or body-boarding in the surf. It's good to then cook a nice dinner and sink a few glasses of wine, as there is enough crockery, cooker space and cutlery to feed all your guests! Finally when we are too tired to cook we get pasties from the world famous Chough Bakery at Padstow or grab a meal at the local Port and Starboard fish and chip restaurant - fantastic quality. Close second is the Merrymoor Inn at Mawgan Porth - don't be put off by the outside the food is very good.
