Villa with Private Pool

Our character villa is situated at the bottom of Quinta da Fortaleza, just outside Burgau. A beautifully peaceful location within easy reach of all sorts of local amenities. It is the most ideal position for accessing the beautiful, secluded sandy beach Cabanas Velhas. The cliff top walks are breath-taking.
There is a large roof terrace. The main floor comprises a large living room, dining area and kitchen. There is one en-suite bedroom and wc on this level, opening up onto a balcony with country side views.

Amazing location

Amazing location. Lovely house with everything needed. Beautiful beaches nearby and lovely restaurants in Salema and Burgau.

Perfect for families

Everything was perfect! Lots of space, great pool, walking distance to quiet beach, coastal walks and Burgau’s restaurants and beach just round the corner. The surfing was easily accessible so everyone was happy.

Half term stay

Amazing villa. Everything you could possibly need. Great peaceful location. Very short drive to local supermarket and 10mins to a bigger one. Tiago was super helpful and always quick to respond. Pool is great size and lots 0f fun for the whole family. Many thanks. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent house and location but…

The house is very good, with much space for all the family, with a bathroom for each room. The cleaning when we arrive was impecable. We had a very hot week, with temperature arround 35Celsius and mosquitos, soo in the house at night was impossible to sleep without air conditioning. Is possible that we return if they put air conditioning, lamp at the swimming pool and perhaps a update of the inside (decoration for example).

Good location

Location was great, just a short 5 minute walk to the beach. House was big and for family of 5 with room to spare, but it definitely needs some TLC. Had to walk through 3 - 4 foot weeds to get to front gate. Multiple lights that don’t work, plugs in bathrooms didn’t work and had to clear out cobwebs and spider eggs in multiple locations on arrival (looked like it hadn’t been occupied for some time prior to our arrival). There are mosquitos to deal with. Overall it’s a decent place but could be much better with a bit of TLC.

Bons moments entre amis et famille en Algarve

La villa est très bien situé pour visiter le sud du Portugal. La piscine est grande et chaude. Le lieu est très agréable et calme, proche d’une très jolie plage à pied. La maison était très propre et la communication avec Rosie et Tiago très fluide et agréable. La villa est plus grande que sur les photos. Tout était très bien. Pistes d’amélioration : - renouvelée les poêles et les casseroles ainsi que quelques éléments de vaisselles - remixer certaines prises électriques Je conseille cependant la villa pour son bon rapport qualité prix.

wonderful place!

The House is perfect for families with children. The pool is nice and big enough. Our 3 children have a lot of fun there. A nice beach is nearly 400 m from the house. Unfortunatly the beach bar were closed (because of corona?)... The house is clean and well designed. We loved this place.

Wonderful place

The house was very beautiful and had everything we needed! The barbecue, the pool and the numerous rooms made it perfect for a vacation with friends and family. The location is very strategic to visits both famous beaches but mos of af all is very close to wonderful, less famous beaches, in direction of Sagres. We have loved them. Both the owner and the manager of the house we kind and precise. The only thing missing is the WiFi, anche the phone connection is not always working well. Everything else was like in the picture and description.

A lovely spacious villa with a great pool

Great villa in good location, the pool was the highlight for our family, it gets the sun all day, but has a shaded area under the balcony which is great for children. Very private.

A very spacious and beautiful villa in a quiet area near the beach . Perfect place to relax.

We all loved this place. Peaceful but not cut off. We got taxi's everywhere which was easy to organise with drivers who were friendly. We did a couple of trips into Lagos for a bit of shopping and boat trips. Slide and splash was about half hour away. Brilliant day spent there! Pool good size and all rooms clean. A welcome pack on arrival was lovely. Great place.We didn't want to leave!

I live in England with my husband. We have 3 daughters, one-son-in law, 2 partners and 3 grandchildren . My back ground is in nursing and midwifery. Currently, I am project managing the restoration of a Georgian property circa 1800, for a change. I am also a counsellor for Pregnancy Choices, dealing with any issues surrounding pregnancy including unintended pregnancy, post-abortion, still birth, cot death and infertility. I am privileged enough to provide the childcare for our three grandchildren whilst their parents work.

Why they chose this property

We first visited this area in 1982. We had the 'Cabanhas Velhas' beach to ourselves. We completely fell in love with it then, as have the rest of our increasing family, and all our friends. We love the tranquillity and that it remains the least developed part of the Algarvian coast. It offers an opportunity to experience relatively untouched Portuguese culture. We are part of the Costa Vicente Nature Park, 80 km of coastline: an area of outstanding natural beauty where wildlife thrives. The inhabitants of Burgau village are warm and welcoming. They embrace children.

What makes this property unique

We are an excellent base to explore the region. It is good to know there is a cosmopolitan town nearby where the two environments contrast extremely well for all generations. Five minutes away, (400m) is our secluded sandy beach. We provide beach towels to keep your load light. The 'Blue Wave' beach bar does coffee from 10am and does excellent food and wine to to suit all pockets. It's a lovely setting for meals, particularly in the evenings, overlooking the sea. There are local restaurants and bars aplenty, eat in or take away. Various activities are all within easy proximity.
