About this property

Norwich and the Norfolk Broads

The Ramblers is in the village of Brundall, 6 miles east of the historical city of Norwich and in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. The accommodation is completely self contained and forms the ground floor front part of the building (the owners home is at the rear of the building). Situated on a quiet private road, the property is close to the village railway station with links into Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Norwich is just a 10 train minute journey. Road links are good as Brundall is located just off the main A47 and the village also benefits from regular bus services.
With two bedrooms, the master features a King size bed, TV with free view, dressing table, double wardrobe, a hairdryer and blackout curtains. A travel cot can also be provided if required. The second bedroom has a zip link bed so can be set up as a twin or double room depending on your preference. This room also features a TV with free view, dressing table, wardrobe, a hairdryer and blackout curtains.
The kitchen diner is fully equipped with everything you will need. Including gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, crockery, glasses, cups and cutlery. Off the kitchen there is a utility room where you will find a washing machine, iron and ironing board. A child's highchair can also be provided if required.
The light and spacious lounge features two leather sofas, a large screen TV with free view and streamed movies and sports, a PlayStation 3, a piano, and access to a patio area. (Please note the owner needs access through the patio to enter his home at the rear of the property, however from a socialising perspective it will be solely for the guests use).
The newly fitted family bathroom has a P-shaped bath, rainfall mixer shower, sink vanity unit and shaver socket.
At the front of the property is a large private drive with parking for up to 6 vehicles.
The accommodation also benefits from its own independent wifi, which is for the sole use of guests.
As mentioned before, the property is well located with excellent road, rail and bus links. However the village of Brundall also boasts pubs, restaurants as well as numerous other shops and services.

Lovely place, great host!!
Me and my 2 boys stayed for just under 2 weeks. The house was very clean and well presented with amicable supplies and welcome package on arrival so we didn't have to run off to the shop straight away after our long flight. Located down a quiet avenue this was perfect position for us to rediscover my childhood village and super close to bus stops and train stations if required to travel to Norwich or Yarmouth. Matt was a great host and checked in with us if we needed anything and informed us of anything that may affect our stay. If we ever make the trip back and this place is available I will definitely book up again for another amazing stay.

A much needed, restful break
After the journey from hell the previous day, a 7 hour drive much longer than the usual 2 hour drive because of the storm. We had a lovely 5 days escape with plenty of rest and lots of great things to see and do.

A much welcome break
The Rambles is a firm favourite of ours, this was our 3rd visit and hopefully we will be back next year. The accommodation is superb a veritable home from home. The hosts/owners are great, there when you need them, but very discrete the rest of the time. I wholeheartedly recommend this property.

Absolutely Fabulous cottage in England
We spent 10 days in this Ab-Fab cottage in the picturesque village of Brundall in the Norfolk area of England. The accommodation was spotlessly clean & beautifully decorated, evoking a traditional English cottage while being thoroughly modernized. The furnishings were both attractive & comfortable, the appliances easy to use, Internet reliable, Smart TV excellent. Everything was of the highest quality - beds, linens, cookware, technology & other equipment. The host was outstanding, a real prince. He met us to orient us to the cottage, was extremely concerned with our comfort, and communicated immediately about any of our concerns questions. The region was also lovely. Lots of footpaths around country lanes & about 15 minute drives into historic Norwich or the North Sea Coast at Great Yarmouth, close to a variety of supermarkets (especially a small but comprehensive Coop in the village proper). We would definitely stay at this property during any return visit to the region, the best & highest recommendation we can give.

About the host

Host profile image
My name is Matt, I am married to Ae and have lived in this beautiful part of the country for most of my life. After a long career in the recruitment industry I decided to make a change in 2014 which enabled us to provide care for my ageing mother and develop this property.
We are a sociable couple with varying interests. Ae is passionate about her Thai food and is a great cook, I just enjoy eating it! We both enjoy travelling to new destinations and often enjoy short European breaks as well as our annual pilgrimage to Thailand.
Letting The Ramblers as self contained and self catering accommodation was something we only started in February 2017. It is something we can do together which we both enjoy. It feels great to get all the positive feedback from our guests.

Why they chose this property

Firstly the area. Brundall is one of Norfolk's prime village locations. Situated in the heart of the Norfolk Broads and yet just a 10 minute train journey into beautiful Norwich and just off the main A47. Being 6 miles east of Norwich we are also well located for Great Yarmouth and the varied Norfolk coastline.
Secondly the village. Brundall is a lovely village with lots of facilities.
Thirdly The Avenue. The property is situated on a very pretty and peaceful private road. The only sound we have in the mornings is bird song.
Finally the house. The property is on a generous plot and is divided into two completely independent living areas. The Ramblers is on the ground floor at the front of the building and in itself is a large, modern and well equipped home from home offering outside space as well for our guests. My home is situated at the rear ground floor and on the first floor of the building, with its own garden and separate patio area. Finally, at the front there is a large driveway for up to 6 cars, we have just one so there's plenty of room for guests!

What makes this property unique

In truth I am repeating what has already been said. It's great to be so close to the City, yet in a lovely village location.
