Dragon cottage is well managed by the host Pippa- great communication between us, very helpful about our stay. The property is very clean and tidy and stocked well with basics needed - kitchen, bathroom etc. It is a little gem in Deal for a weekend (or longer) stay - perfectly situated for Deal high street and the beech felony . I can’t recommend Dragon Cottage enough - all of family enjoyed their stay as well as our dog

The property was absolutely fab! It had everything we could possibly need. The garden was also lovely and ideal for enjoying coffee in the morning and a nice glass of wine in the evening. The location was great. It’s in the conservation area and very close to the best chip shop in Deal! It’s also only a short stroll to the seafront and high street. We highly recommend!
Thank you Sian - we are so glad you found the cottage comfortable and felt at home there - we look forward to welcoming you back :)

We love the fact that you can park and leave the car - everything is in easy walking distance - especially the pubs and restaurants - spoilt for choice..
Old cottage full of character with nice sunny courtyard. Towels and sheets were great quality. Deal was a good location with some great places to eat and lovely walks.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cosy, characterful cottage. It was very comfortable, clean and ideally located right in the centre of Deal, just a few minutes walk from both shops and beach. We loved the little extras - lovely welcome basket, dressing gowns and slippers. A lovely place for a relaxing break.

Lovely cottage
We found Dragon Cottage a loveley place for a relaxing holiday. The cottage ist just delightful and well equipped. And with free wifi, the children were happy as well ...
Deal is a great spot, not far away from the ferry in Dover, and has very nice little shops and a good choice of places for familiy dinners.
And as we were so lucky with the weather, we've been to the beach every day!

Charming cottage in a lovely town
We had a great stay at Dragon Cottage and Simon and Pippa were very helpful. The cottage itself has everything you would need for a short break and Deal has lots of things to do. Our 3 year son loved going to the beach every day and when we did manage to escape the beach we explored Deal castle, went cycling in Betteshanger Country Park and went to the Deal xmas lights show. It’s a lovely cottage and I would definitely recommend it.

So glad that things worked out well for you all and that Deal and the cottage lived up to expectations. Lovely that you enjoyed the log fire.... hope to see you again :)
This lovely cottage suited us perfectly, right in the heart of Deal with a car park 2 minutes walk away, free overnight with an electric point for our plug-in car, but you did have to pay during the day. It was clean and comfortable with a sunny yard that would have been great to sit out in if the sun had shone! Our aged Labrador felt very welcome. We did lots of walking, to Sandwich and Broadstairs, had a day in Canterbury and a very stormy day walking by the sea through Margate. Thank you so much to the hosts, we’ve returned to SE London, refreshed and renewed

Thanks for such a lovely review, Clare - we look forward to welcoming you back and are glad you enjoyed your stay :)
I stayed at Dragon Cottage a few years ago, and I was delighted to find everything as beautiful as I remembered it on my second visit.
Communications and check-in were a breeze, the house is so welcoming and cosy, with everything thoughtfully provided for a comfortable getaway.
A few steps to the charming Deal market on Saturday morning, a stone's throw to the beach for long seafront walks, wonderful little shops, pubs and restaurants nearby (excellent fish & chips just down the road!). The place oozes history and charm.
I slept so well in the comfy bed, and loved my evenings in the elegant sitting room, reading in front of the fire. A well-equipped kitchen let me cook my own meals when I didn't eat out.
I can't wait for my next stay!

Stunning, amazing and beautifuly presented. Home from Home
The word amazing doesn’t quite cover Dragon Cottage. The cottage itself is stunning and immaculate and the attention to detail that the owners add is something else. We stayed over New Year so the cottage had the Christmas decorations up, it’s clear a lot of thought had gone into those.
The cottage has everything you need, the kitchen is fully equipped as are the toiletries in the bathroom. And an amazing array of books to choose from too. Two things I like to be spot on whilst I’m away is a restful nights sleep and a decent shower, the cottage ticked both those boxes. The double bed was comfy and the shower has plenty of umpf.
We had a power cut whilst there (someone cut through a cable in the road) we spoke to Simon who couldn’t have been more helpful and apologetic - these things happen. For us it made for the perfect evening. We lit the fire and opened a bottle of wine.
The cottage is perfectly located at in Deal, with great walks along the seafront in both directions and a high street just a short walk away.
I cannot rave enough about Dragon Cottage, we will definitely be returning. I have fallen in love with Deal and the cottage.
Thank you Pippa and Simon for making this cottage a fantastic place to stay.

What a fabulous review - thank you so much. We are glad that things worked out well for you - despite the power cable being cut during road works nearby :( The atmosphere in the cottage by fire and candle light is certainly delightful, with the sense of history oozing out of the 18th century brickwork. We look forward to welcoming you back soon....
We enjoyed this wonderful cottage for a week. Everything is close and yet it's quiet and comfortable. We loved it. It has many extra things that make it special - the beautiful little private garden off the kitchen, a perfectly supplied kitchen with all the necessary tools and dishes, pots, etc., probably 500 books of any genre to keep every reader happy, plenty of tv channels to choose from and pubs and restaurants everywhere. Pippa's photography is a nice touch and all the little pictures throughout are fun to see.
The listing was accurate - the only annoying item is the construction across the street which blocks the parking for the cottage. We parked near the Angling Club for free but it's a hike to get to the car. However, we didn't use the car once we arrived so it was not that inconvenient. We took the train to Dover and could have easily done so to other towns as well. Walking is doable to Walmer Castle and Sandwich.
The workers across the street stop working around 4 pm on week days and don't work at all on weekends, so it was quiet when it needed to be. The property was very clean, well maintained and orderly when we arrived - the gift basket was full of nice things. Grocery shopping is a breeze with a Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencers plus many other little markets to choose. The Saturday market just a few feet away down on High Street was fun - we bought a chicken and bacon pie which was delicious and highly recommended. The Milaad Tandoori restaurant just down Middle Street is a jewel. We didn't need additional help or customer service but we have no doubt it would have been available and efficient.
All said, we will highly recommend Dragon Cottage to anyone coming to this area - it's a very nice place for a two to four people.

We note your comments on the building works on the house opposite which, whilst we realise they are necessary, are a disappointment. Hopefully you were prepared to some extent as we mention the disruption before anyone arrives. We are relieved that they are not working at the weekend and hope they will finish soon😊 Other than that, we are very pleased that you found all you needed and had an enjoyable stay. We hope to see you again....
Typisch englisches Cottage welches sehr liebevoll dekoriert und eingerichtet ist. Wir haben unseren Urlaub sehr genossen.

Why they chose this property
You will find all you need here for a relaxing seaside break, As a dog owner myself, I am happy for you to bring your well behaved dog to the cotage. All the family love Dragon and we hope you find it as relaxing and restorative as we all do.
What makes this property unique
The dog walks and the lively artistic community with exhibitions and live music going on are a fantastic escape from the hurly burly of work life. On arrival, the car is parked and everything is then in easy walking reach - wonderful. The shops are a great mix of known high street brands and quirky local shops like Dublin and Diver, the Horton shop, Smoke on the Water and Peppers health foods. There is a fantastic choice of places to eat and drink - all nearby and, of course, the sea is on our doorstep
