A place for all seasons

This magnificent property has facilities for a wonderful holiday no matter what the weather. Great outdoor facilities to enjoy warm summer and cinema room for any rainy days. Whole family thoroughly enjoyed their stay.

Interesting property, good location

Unusual large spacious property, comfortable and a relaxed ambiance, particularly the kitchen, which was a nice gathering place for the family. Cinema room useful for families on wet days /evenings. Well located for visits out to the coast and interesting towns and villages. The neighbourhood is friendly and the village has all the usual shops you would expect in a French rural setting, a couple of tabacs and restaurants, with a supermarket on the outskirts (5 mins in a car) Owners were friendly and easy to communicate with and cleared up any problems that arose immediately. The pictures on the website could do with some updating. For example there are no swings in the front garden and they now have a couple of chickens in a run. This incidentally was good for the children who enjoyed egg collecting and feeding them.The pool was great for sitting around on hot days but the water was cold. Overall we had an enjoyable holiday in an atmospheric property in a good, accessible location.

It was a big house. Good enough for the twelve of use. Most of the time we stayed in the kitchen. It was lovely, warm and comfortable. Each room was big. Some of them with a shower. The garden was also big too. There was a swimming pool. But we didn’t used it. The weather was very cold. To bad for us! The furniture and cooking material were old, but we could use it. Heather is a very nice person. If something was wrong, she immediately helped us of get a solution. She asked us a couple a times how we are doing. Do we need anything etc. She is very helpful.

Thank you Joan for your lovely review. It was a real pleasure to receive you at my house. Its so good to see all the different generations of the family holidaying together. I'm glad you liked the house and were comfortable. The kitchen is the original old bread oven of the village and I purposely have old copper pans and kitchenalia around to give an original and authentic touch. I enjoy cooking with them and the authentic atmosphere it creates. It was a pity you didn't get to use the pool as prior to your stay we had a heat wave for several weeks as in most of europe. Hopefully next time. I'm a tiny bit disappointed in the 3 stars you awarded me as I was generous enough to give you 5 and this may have a detremental effect for my future rentals. I always do my utmost to ensure people enjoy a special time here. Thanks once again for choosing my property out of so many. I would be very happy to see you again here one day.

Evran holiday

Stayed for two weeks in this large spacious converted farmhouse, it was bright roomy and had lovely tiled floors downstairs, the kitchen was large with a central island / dining area ,it was a typically stylish and quaint French farmhouse kitchen , the pans which were large and made of iron added to the experience , the huge living dining room was comfortably furnished and was bright with plenty of natural light from the huge windows , three on each side of the room. The upstairs had five bedrooms , three with on suite showers plus a separate bathroom and laundry room and there was also a downstairs shower and toilet . Pleasant gardens with a huge table and chairs plus a barbecue, The outside pool was a bit of a disappointment as it is not heated so on some days when there was not a lot of sun it was too cold to swim in . Locally there is beach / children's play area approx 20 mins walk , the village centre 10 mins walk away has a butchers and bakers plus a couple of nice bars/ restaurants and there is a supermarket 5 mins drive away . Everyone enjoyed their stay in this comfortable house in a nice quiet French Village

Hi ..My name is Heather Depuis and have lived in France for 20years. I have been an interior designer all my working life and I designed and created this house as our family home. The children have all grown up now and off doing there own thing so I have decided it would be nice to rent it to other big families. Its a great place for lots of people .. very large rooms... bright and colourful.
Its not a luxury villa, more 'shabby chique!' But nicely appointed with marble floors etc. The house was featured in Period Living magazine and was the location for Rachel Koo 's ' Little French Kichen' cookery book photo shoot.

"Heather was such a lovely host... always available and willing to help. Her house was charming and cosy, we had a really nice stay there (a long week-end, group of 11 people) and we all had our own space. I would definitely recommand it to any group of friends or big family willing to gather in a lovely area, especially if the weather is good!"

Why they chose this property

Evran is a typical Bretonne village with banks, bakeries,bars and a great little supermarket. The beautiful 'Rance' (canal) runs through it with its towpath providing lovely walks or bike rides.
There is a public tennis court just down the its a 10 minute walk to the lake where theres a little beach, water sport courses and fishing.
The midieval town of Dinan is a 10 min drive and many beautiful beaches including Dinard, St Malo and Cancale (famous for its Oysters) are all within half an hour. The magnificent city of Rennes is 30 mins away. There are plenty of golf courses in the area and an equestrian cente nearby. The famous 'Mont St Michel' is 45 mins away. We have loved living in this area as there are so many places within easy reach.

What makes this property unique

The house is situated on the edge of the village,within walking distance to the shops and saturday market. Its private without being isolated.
Theres a superb Creperie serving the local bretonne speciality in the next vilage and of course Dinan is packed with wonderful restaurants and shops.
We are close to the ferry port of St Malo... and Caen and Cherbourg are now an easy 2 hour drive.Local airports would be Dinard and Rennes ( 1/2 hr.) and Brest (2hrs) Nantes is 1 1/2 hours away. You could also fly to Paris and come to Rennes by TGV (2hrs) Eurostar via Paris can get you here less than 5 hours !
