When you arrive at Le Roque you will be greeted by the impressive gated entrance, very grand & exciting you'll be dying to get inside and explore its magic, the grounds lead to staircases that sweep through the beautiful gardens on all different levels, the villa has 7 bedrooms &7 bathrooms , inside is a unique blend of traditional romance and Gobsmackingly wow!.The entrance hall done in Natural Stone & Slate with stair way to main lounge , the main lounge has an outside terrace as do all of the bedrooms the master bedroom Bedroom 1 hosts an outside marble bath and lovely private lounge area.The terraces off every Bedroom are different, one having a lovely old olive tree, others having direct pool access, and some having the exquisiteness of total privacy. Under the 150 year old Olive tree there is a fabulous BBQ area to chill on a sunny afternoon with yet another lovely Marble table for dining, you will be spoiled for choice, under the carved antique pergola is a chill out bed... Optional pool heating incurs a cost of £250 per week,there is a £1500 supplement for wedding parties.

Beautiful property, wonderful beach town

Outstanding pool and amenities that perfectly suited our group of 13 adults. The house and grounds were large enough for everyone to have room for privacy, but also had great gathering areas. Very well managed property, and everything worked as advertised. Villa is very close to several beaches, par 3 golf course, and the center of the town of Carvoeiro. Two excellent restaurants within 50 meters walking. Easy drive to lots of other towns and points of interest. Highly recommend!

Really cannot say much more than my previous review but the fact we re visited the following year i suppose says it all. the place just gets better and better which is why our last visit was only for 5 days as it was fully booked and we could not get our full week. as per our first visit in 2015, the owners, manager and maids were a dream to deal with. the villa is perfect, the location great and Carvoeiro just keeps on improving whilst still retaining its charm. My wife told me not to put another review on or we won't get in for our next visit (but I am safe, we have already booked it!).

The home was amazing!

We are a family of 14 celebrating a 70th birthday. We were very please with the property - the pictures did not do it justice. The sleeping accommodations were comfortable, clean and rooms were a nice size with plenty of closet space - bathrooms were large and well equipped with nice showers. The grounds were maintained beautifully and the pool was well taken care of. The manager was nice and explained everything very thoroughly. It is walking distance to the beach and a couple nice restaurants. I would definitely recommend this Villa especially for a large group. Wow Wow Amazing property 5 Star in everyway

We wanted accommodation that could take the whole family with ages ranging from 16 to 82. It was a special celebration and we wanted the accommodation to be luxurious and that everyone had their own room and bathrooms. We saw La Roque advertised which was in a location that the family had previously visited and La Roque seemed to have everything that we required. My husband and I are seasoned travellers and stay in many 5 Star plus Hotels/Accommodation and, on many occasions, are underwhelmed and disappointed. What can I say about La Roque? The home exceeded our expectations in every way. The property is finished to a very high standard with all rooms being different with unique features and having beautiful bathrooms so that no-one was disappointed in the room they were provided, which is often the case on larger groups. The property has large grounds with many areas where you can go and spend some private time. There is a beautiful pool with an outside BBQ/party area, all of which are immaculately maintained. The owners and host who showed us around the property were exceedingly helpful and accommodating and I could not recommend this property enough and we will definitely be returning and would rate this as a 5 Star plus in terms of accommodation. We would highly recommend this property

Perfect villa for a perfect family holiday

This property is exceptional! So spacious with one room more impressive than the next. The kids absolutely loved playing in the garden and enjoying the pool. We had a perfect holiday and would definitely consider hiring this villa again. It was within walking distance to great restaurants, coffee shops and the beach. Communication with Sam and Mario was easy and they were both very friendly and thorough. Thank you for making our holiday even that much more special.

Perfect villa for a perfect holiday

The photographs of Le Roque do not exaggerate in any way - it is a stunning, fully palatial villa, in a great location. We were a family group with very young children and also older members with mobility issues and it worked perfectly for all. All rooms are vast, with more than enough space for cots. Having so many bathrooms, all of which were large enough to accommodate those with mobility issues, was great, as when deciding who had which bedroom we were all spoilt for choice. It is often misleading when written that a car is not needed, but in this case, it's true. There are shops and multiple restaurants in very easy walking distance, just a couple of minutes away. We are already planning our next trip as it couldn't have been more perfect. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic villa with facilities and space for a large group ranging in age from 4 to 74.

This villa more than lives up to all of it's descriptions and the photos hardly do it justice. My family group was 13 strong with an age range of 4 to 74 . The accommodation and facilities suited everybody extremely well. There was ample space for everyone to disappear and have their own space in the house or garden or, as more often happened, join in activities together. The facilities easily match the size of the accommodation with, for example, there being enough sunbeds for everyone. Another thing much appreciated by the mothers in the party was the provision of towels for the pool which saves so much space with the packing. The pool was large and with the heating gave hours of comfortable fun even in a cool May. Even the pool maintenance man discreetly carried out his task early in the morning. Mario, the agent, met us at the promised time and gave an exhaustive tour and explanation of everything. We had no cause to contact him as everything worked perfectly but have no doubt he, or the owners, would have helped with anything. The welcome pack was nicely selected and the owners even left a surprise birthday cake for one of my group which was more than big enough for our whole party. The location is ideal being within easy walking distance of 7 or 8 restaurants and a medium size supermarket. Like everything else in the published details of the villa the description of distances is accurate including the walking distance to the beach. Parking is easy at the villa with easy access through the imposing automated gates . Room enough for our 3 cars and plenty more. The wifi was effective in every nook and cranny of the whole site and the other electronic devices worked whenever needed although the outdoor facilities took priority. We couldn't make use of all the sitting, dining and drinking areas as everyone tended to migrate to the large communal areas. The new BBQ facilities got plenty of exercise when we didn't amble up the road to the great local restaurants. At night the garden became illuminated with the pool lights and the never ending variety of fairy and spot lights. The whole garden and house are beautifully designed, furnished and maintained. My group could not think of anything that they would have added.

Exceptional Holiday Retreat

We stayed at Le Roque during the first week of September 2016 for a special family holiday, the party size being 11 adults and a toddler. We were all very excited to see the villa as the owner's listing and previous reviews looked incredible. In the months leading up to our holiday, Sam the villa owner and Mario the property manager had provided much help and advice and had booked car hire, airport transfers and a boat trip on our behalf. They had also recommended local caterers, a yoga teacher and a musician who were all top class. They also provided details of an English language online shopping website which proved to be very useful as we were able to pre-book a very large delivery ready for when we arrived. The villa surpassed expectations and is incredibly impressive - the description in the owner's listing and in previous reviews are not exaggerated. The owners have not overlooked anything in the design of the villa and have thought of everything you could possibly need in a comfortable holiday property. From the huge modern kitchen with coffee maker, ice machine and wine fridge, to the games room with pool table, the large family tv lounge, beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms and impressive entrance hall, each room exudes style and class. The outside space is vast and equally stunning, all centred around the pool - lawn areas, lovely bougainvillaea and olive trees, huge garden lounge with great sound system, comfortable loungers and all with very handy access to a kitchen, cocktail bar and wine fridge! There are so many special features including the roof top lounge, outside terraces for each bedroom and poolside shower room. At night the whole outside space is decorated with automatic lighting including fairy lights in the trees making the villa look magical. From the mid-week maid service to the generous welcome pack, help in restaurant reservations and friendly help and support, a big thank you to Sam and Mario for making this special place into an incredible holiday experience.

SUPERB VILLA IN A GREAT LOCATION

My husband & I stayed at Villa Le Roque at the end of August with our three older sons & girlfriends, my sister & brother in law with their two children, along with our parents. So this villa had to be 'the one'. On arrival we were taken aback at how fabulous it was, more so than the pictures had shown. Whilst walking up the drive through the huge gates, glancing over to the pool and gardens I had butterflies in my stomach - this villa was amazing!! Beautiful bedrooms & bathrooms most ensuite with private areas to chill & relax. Often 'lost' people - we never felt on top of each other as there are two kitchens & two lounges. We loved the music system located in the 'pool' room which also played in the outside garden room too if you wanted (just took turns with which genre was played). Some of us even found a little time to enjoy the huge top of the range TV in the main lounge with very comfy sofas, enough for a large group to chill together. The pool showers and toilet were fabulously handy too, enough sunbeds for everyone, so no having to get up early to put your towels on! Added bonus - all towels and pool towels were provided along with bathrobe. The kitchen had everything you would need including wine cooler, coffee machine & ice making machine. Even with such a beautiful kitchen & a large BBQ outside we only managed to eat one evening BBQ meal at the villa as there were so many good places to eat within walking distance or a short taxi ride into the main town. The lovely beach is literally 450mtrs down the road, there is also a beach bar for snacks, ice cream & drinks. Mario the villa Manager was very helpful showing us around the villa & arranging our very reasonably priced transfers for both parties arriving and departing at separate times. The booking was very smooth via the owner Sam who was very helpful and answered any questions we had (thanks for the lovely welcome pack) All in all we can highly recommend this villa - we would love to go back if we're in the Algarve again. Top class, top fixtures and fittings - stunning!!

Amazing villa, didn't want to leave

Just back from a most relaxing week here with family. We used transfer taxis (for 6 and 8 passengers) organised by villa manager Mario - clean, air conditioned & well driven for 75 euro each way. On arrival, we were hugely impressed. This villa catered for absolutely everything. The photos are spot on, it's exactly what you get. So much space to either get together or just have a bit of 'me' time. Wifi was great and the lounge / cinema room with Netflix & Sky were welcomed by the younger members of our group. All the bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely, the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We paid to have the pool heated so it was a lovely temperature & big enough to swim some lengths. We were left with a welcome pack (thank you!) and there is a shop just up the road for daily provisions. The local shop is expensive but we took a taxi (8 euro each way) to the much cheaper supermarket to stock up although we didn't cook very much as there are quite a few restaurants within walking distance. Just beware that when they bring you bread etc. as you're browsing the menu that these are 'covers' and you will be charged per head (from 2 to 5.5 euros each) but can say you don't want them. The beach is a 10 minute walk down the hill, We visited it a coupe of times; hired a brolly and ate lunch at the very reasonable cafe there. If we went to the region again we'd hire a car to be able to get around better - plenty of space at the villa to park a few cars. In all, it really is a top class, private & secure plot with everything you might need for a perfect holiday - highly recommended.

Absolutely Fabulous

Just returned from an amazing holiday on the beautiful Algarve in Portugal,half of us travelled from the US and the rest came from the UK none of us had been there before and all of us will go back . We chose a small town called Carvoeiro slightly west of central Algarve and an easy motorway drive from Faro for the UK lot and from Lisbon for the USA gang. we all get together every 2 yrs and all of us are well travelled and live in some beautiful homes so when we meet up on holiday we expect the very very best . Le Roque did not disappoint any of us in any way . This place is absolutely superb when you arrive you may think you are outside some medieval castle , once inside and you head up the drive and look towards the beautiful pool and gardens you start to think it's special but that's nothing to what's inside . every room is top class and every bathroom is world class. We had some fantastic barbecues with the wine and piped music setting a great atmosphere . You will be met by Mario the villa manager who organised our transfers and gave us a tour of Le Roque he also booked us into the wonderful Julio's restaurant next door for our first nights get together meal. There are about 6 great restaurants in walking distance and multitudes in town ( 5min taxi ) . Sam the owner organised a chef for some fantastic in house catering and Joao the Yoga man for our morning exercises . A walk along the clifftops next to the villa is an absolute must if you walk to Carvalho (left out the gate ) and along the cliffs past the light house to centeanes I doubt you will ever have such an amazing stroll quite breathtaking . The local boat trip from centeanes( 5 min walk) to the caves is great ,and a steak at the Wolf is a must . A huge thankyou for sam & john the owners who left us a lovely welcome pack including our first of many beers and wines . We cannot thank Mario enough he really is SUPER MARIO . All in all this was our best get together yet and we already KNOW where our next one will be.

Great holiday in a fabulous villa!

Our party of 12 stayed for a week in this luxurious villa. All of the rooms were lovely with large, sumptuous bathrooms. The living spaces were ideal for large numbers, allowing peace and quiet if required. We ate outside everyday making use of the BBQ and the extremely well equipped kitchen. The pool and gardens were ideal giving much needed shade when needed. Good location for the beach and for restaurants within walking distance. We would highly recommend this villa.

PERFECT in every way

We are an extended family from 4 different countries who had to choose a place in europe to celebrate our fathers 70th birthday ,and unusually for us we all agreed we had chosen the perfect spot . As soon as we arrived at the majestic entrance we sensed we were onto a winner .Inside is superb the decor is pure class , the main lounge is fantastic and its hard to chose whether to look out the french doors down the picturesque valley towards the sea or watch the huge 70inc TV. Normally when we all meet up we have a right old barney as who has which room NOT here every bedroom and bathroom has a different style and all are beautiful. Bedroom 1 has great outside marble bath and its terrace connects to the twin bedroom terrace ideal to keep the kids close but private lockable door between . The lower ground has a great games room with another 70inch TV , pool table and cocktail bar with music inside and out at the flick of a switch . The outside space is terrific you can all get together in the garden lounge for a barbecue or at one of the other beautiful dining areas ,or sneak off to one of the many private spots like the moroccan lounge bed or roof terrace for a quiet read .The pool us amazing when the sun is high it literally turns it into a sea of diamonds . The location suited all of us from tots to seniors ,there are some lovely restaurants and a handy minimarket within a short walk and the beach is a 10 min stroll with its cute restaurant /bar ,the boat trip to the caves from here is a must do .The town is a 5min taxi ride with lots of bars and restaurants and live music inn the square most nights.This really was a holiday of a lifetime and one none of us (especially mum and dad ) will forget . Many Many thanks to Mario the villa manager who collected us from the airport and guided us throughout our stay ( what a lovely man and so professional) ... And special thanks to Sam the owner who even got us a chef and yoga teacher WHAT A STAR ... We will certainly be back

Fantastic Family Holiday

We booked Le Roque for my mothers 60th Birthday celebrations. Finding somewhere for 11 adults and 3 children (under 4 ) for 2 weeks to all stay in one place is difficult but the pictures and reviews stood out so much. My previous experiences are that the pictures show the absolute best of a property and when you arrive it can be a slight disappointment as its not as large as you thought or its a little tired around the edges etc. This is NOT the case with Le Roque! From the second the huge, and incredibly impressive, front gates start to open you realise you've arrived at a truly special property which is everything we thought and hoped it would be. We are a very close family so spent most of the time together either around the pool, spread between sunbeds, playing in the pool or enjoying a cold drink in the outdoor cabana. As previous reviews stated if you wanted to spend time as a couple there are numerous little places to hide away and enjoy some time together aswell. Absolutely no expense has been spared anywhere and every bathroom and bedroom is beautifully finished and has its own special features. The outdoor bath on our balcony was a particular highlight for my wife and I to relax in once the children had gone to bed. The property manager (Mario) couldn't do enough for us and was helpful if we had a question about anything and would lay on private cars to collect us and take us for dinner etc. the cleaners where really lovely aswell and were very good (& patient) with the children who wanted to help! The location is excellent aswell with a well stocked shop and very nice coffee shop a short walk up the hill. Down the hill you are 5 mins walk from a charming cove and beach aswell as snack bar and small restaurant. In complete honesty Le Roque was so beautiful we found ourselves a few times going back early from excursions because we missed the place! In summary, we are a well travelled family who has stayed at some exclusive resorts all over the world but I can honestly say that Le Roque was truly a special place and made the holiday as special as we'd hoped. I cannot fault it even slightly and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a holiday with the 'wow' factor. To top this all off the owners stopped by on my mothers birthday to deliver a Birthday Cake and make sure everything was to our taste. What a lovely, down to earth, couple they are and Le Roque is a real credit to them.

Simply Amazing!

A fantastic getaway, from the moment the gate opened we were amazed and all 14 of us smiling for our entire stay. Seven adult couples, all friends for 15+ years, felt immediately at home with plenty of room and privacy. There were even rooms and patios that we did not use because the space was large enough. The grounds are exceptional - the grass was wonderfully manicured; the pool, ping-pong, bbq and outdoor dining area were all spot on! The interior was also high quality and the bathrooms had enough hot water for everyone to get ready. The beach was a 5 minute drive and there's a lovely restaurant next door. This is a private escape, and we would highly recommend.

We had some terrific 10 days in this great villa. The house is just beautiful and well maintained. Everything is even better than on the pictures. Both, Mario and Sam have been really nice and helpful,- thanks again. Beach within short walking distance. -We would love to come back, soon.

Wow what a place.

Wow what a villa! Magnifico! My family and I just spent the most amazing week at Le Roque. Everything about it was wonderful. The pool, the rooms, the roof terrace and break out areas are just to die for. Our host Sam couldn't have been more accommodating with all our requests met with no fuss. She was also very helpful with sharing local knowledge about the area. (Please note the 'white sangria' at the beach at end of the road is the perfect place to watch the sun go down) Our stay at Le Roque was probably the best holiday we've ever had. Definitely worth a visit.

Le Roque is by far the best villa we have ever stayed in! Our family of 8 adults and 2 kids spent a wonderful week there in May. Not only is the location perfect for visiting the stunning Algarve, the villa is perfect in itself. Sam was extremely helpful in organising everything, helping to book a yoga instructor and offering to help with car hire. Mario did a fantastic job of showing us round the wonderfully massive villa, where we encountered another room at every turn. The standard at Le Roque is LUXURIOUS. Everything is finished to the highest standard imaginable, and if any room doesn't have an ensuite, it has it's private bathroom immediately next to it. The kitchen was large, and the coffee machine and icemakers were in constant use. The size can not be over-emphasised - with 10 of us staying there we never felt on top of one another. Although we had hired cars to get about, but mostly wanted to stay in the villa, lounging around the pool, reading on the rooftop, relaxing on the outdoor bed or simply sitting in the Moroccan den with the sun going down, finishing off the last of the evenings barbeque with another bottle of wine. There are literally dozens of restaurants to choose from within a small area, and you can walk to several in just a few minutes. The beach is only 5 or minutes away, and a short car journey will let you go kayaking, scuba diving or buggy driving in the hills. I can honestly state that Le Roque exceeded our expectations in every way and when we return to the Algarve we will be doing everything we can to stay there again.

Out of this world!!!!

Simply perfection! This villa offered everything you could possibly wish for, both inside and out. Arriving at the villa we were gobsmacked by the size of the enormous castle gates. Inside the grounds, a magical staircase took us up through the different levels of the garden to numerous quaint seating areas and a beautiful hand crafted antique pergola; which is perfectly positioned to catch the last of the sun at the end of the day. Day and night the glistening pearlescent pool invites you in. The temperature of the water was perfect and the surroundings exquisite. We had many tasty lunches round the pool using the large BBQ and table area which is perfectly shaded under a large olive tree. I love the quirky outdoor sink too. Inside, the villa is superbly decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need. We used the integrated coffee machine morning, noon and night. Every room is finished to such a high specification. The 'Le Roque' embroidered robes and towels add a touch of elegance. There has been no expense spared on the bed linen either. Every morning we awoke feeling refreshed and ready for another day of pure luxury and relaxation. Le Roque is a stones throw from the beach. It is perfect for an evening stroll down to the beach bar for a jug of white sangria then back to the villa to watch the sunset from the roof terrace. The living room has state of the art HDTV and Bose surround sound system. The night before we flew home, we had a cosy night in watching movies and being swallowed up by the huge sofa whilst the log fire roared. Pure bliss! Everything about Le Roque is out of this world!!!

A little bit of Heaven

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING is how we would sum up Le Roque. This Villa delivers everything it promises and more. Everything has been completed to an extremely high standard. The attention to detail is superb and extremely rare nowadays so it was an absolute pleasure to experience. The photographs do not really do justice to the space and unique accommodation Le Roque offers. It is a stunningly beautiful villa offering opulent elegance at every turn. At the peak there were 15 adults and 2 babies staying (age range 4 weeks to 75 years) and not once did we feel that we were on top of each other. There is so much space both indoors and outdoors offering a little piece of heaven for everyone no matter what your taste. The pool is fantastic for all ages including little ones. Thoughtfully left were poolside flip flops for everyone. The pool house is great, so convenient. There is plenty of space in the sun or the shade depending on your taste. There are quiet spots to relax if you don't want to sit around the pool. The teenagers loved the roof top pergola and the downstairs pool/TV room with its own bar and kitchen. We loved the brick built BBQ and spent many an evening in the beautiful Moroccan garden lounge. All the bedrooms were thoughtfully furnished and bedding was of a good quality. The bathrooms are without exception all stunning. The kitchen offers all the mod cons and the additional fridge freezer downstairs was a god send! (especially to pop in and grab an icecream from poolside) The owners Sam and John who are super lovely people went out of their way to make our stay comfortable even thoughtfully leaving a wonderful hamper of food including some wonderful little luxuries and champagne for our arrival. The villa manager George was superb and was always on hand to help with anything. There are a couple of lovely restaurants within walking distance. Food was of an excellent standard and reasonably priced. Carveiro is a short taxi ride away and offers something to suit most tastes. The nearest beach was a 10 minute walk away and was spotlessly clean with a snack bar and bathroom facilities. There are 2 large supermarkets a 10 min taxi ride away but there is a local smaller supermarket 3 mins walk away which bakes fresh bread every day. Everyone that stayed with us at Le Roque said it was one of the best holidays they had experienced. We can not recommend it highly enough and if you are thinking of booking you won't be disappointed. It's worth every penny!

I live in the UK with my partner, we used to holiday in the Algarve and fell in love with it, so ended up buying a villa there. Now we would like to share the experience with you hope you enjoy... that was 2011.Now 2013 well things have changed , we now live full time in the Algarve the weather is so lovely all year round, like anywhere we get the odd rainy day but still love it here, we find we can be outdoors so much more having this beautiful coast line on our door step is more than a delight, as you will see if you venture to Carvoeiro, even at Christmas we go onto the beach for a walk, take champagne down there New Years Day and meet friends, if you were coming for a special occasion I would be more that happy help you organise any event.

Le roque is a very private beautiful villa it has so many private areas if you wish to chill out alone, Centianes Beach is literally 400 metres from the gates,you can jet ski,snorkel,visit the caves and much more you also have a beach restaurant /Bar
Across the road are mini markets , stunning cliff top walks on your door step, the best choice of restaurants are at this end of Carvoeiro as well lots to choose from, you won't be disappointed
