We had a wonderful stay at Ardmay Chalet. It was comfortable and cozy, and the view of the loch was spectacular. It was rainy most of the week, so we didn't get to try out the kayaks or SUPs. Douglas was a fantastic host! He was super friendly and was very responsive to our requests.
Cabin comfortable, the host was genial and welcoming. Great facilities, kayaks and paddle boards, swim shoes games room. Wonderful sitting on the deck and watching the heron.
Great communication with hosts, even though they were on holiday. Chalet was immaculate with fantastic attention to detail. Best kitted out sc accommodation we’ve ever stayed in.
The scenery was breathtaking and we even made a best friend of Rosie, their cat ❤️ will definitely be back
We spent three enjoyable nights here. Doug was very accommodating and approachable, gave us some good pointers where we could go sightseeing. The chalet was clean and comfortable. Would happily have stayed longer and would be happy to stay here again. Stunning location.
We could not have been happier with this location. The view from the house is spectacular. You can sit for hours watching over the water and mountains. The house is very cute and had everything we needed. Enjoyed the common fire pit on a rainy night. Doug is very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. We most certainly would return.
Exactly what it says on the tin and much much more.
Doug and Andrea are brilliant hosts, always about for help and advice but never intrusive. Really friendly and great to chat with. The location is fantastic, so good that I almost don’t want to advertise it!
It’s worth the walk to sample the food from Cu Mara too!
Thanks Doug. See you soon

Hi Pete thank you for your kind review and thank all so much for leaving the place so tidy on departure.
Shame you could not stay on for the Jubilee celebrations / BBQ. I think a good night had by all !! albeit head a little slow on Sunday morning !
l would love to see you all again anytime !!
best wishes
Doug
There was only one full bathroom. Not 2 as stated on website. 2nd bathroom was only a toilet and wash hand basin
We were up to 5 women on some days, not the best situation but we did manage.
We were a group of 3 looking for hiking, waterfalls, good food and relaxation. We had it all!
The process from beginning to end was exeptional and the communication from the host, Doug was 1st class.
We arrived early and he allowed us to check in early. Always stopped for a chat and was on call if we needed anything.
The rooms were very comfortable and spacious and the water front location was something else.
The pit area/bar area was decorated nicely and was very comfortable with a huge tv and blankets provided for colder evenings.
Ideally located a short drive from the local pub and restaurants.
Plenty of activities nearby to keep you busy.
All in all, a fantastic stay!
Thanks very much Doug

What a stunning location! Arrochar is a quiet, beautiful little village with all amenities you need. A perfect starting point to explore a little bit of Scotland. A convenient ride by train from Balloch (free parking space) to Glasgow and Edinburgh. Withing 30 miles radius of drive, you can see Falls of Falloch, Kilchurn Castle, breath taking Rest and be Thankful Viewpoint on A83 towards Inveraray, a beautiful town full of art galleries. Loch Lomond and an amazing must visit village Luss. Beautiful Stirling and its castle… all in a reach of an hour drive by car. We styed in the bungalow with conservatory and a hot tub. The property itself provides an amazing view of surrounding mountains, forest and loch. The bungalow has huge windows and is very specious. It has everything you need for a self-catering break away. There is plenty of storage, good supply of books and games, beds were very comfortable and clean. You can use kayaks and rowing boat for free, even go fishing. We were very lucky to be able to use hot tub which was absolutely perfect, with the most stunning view and very clean, well maintained. You can also use the well-equipped games room as well as the outside bar area with gas BBQ, comfortable sofas, fridge for your wine and heating if needed. The property, the bar area as well as games room were very clean and maintained to the high standard which was really important during Covid and made you feel safe and comfortable. Doug and his wife are really friendly and helpful, always happy to advise or just chat with you but giving you all the privacy and space! We really loved our 2 weeks of holiday, plenty to do with 2 young boys. We would certainly recommend it!

To begin with, the location is perfect. incredible views over the loch from the deck, from the bedroom, from the hot tub....
If the weather hadn't been so good there's the conservatory, the games room and the bar - it's all brilliantly thought-out. We were lucky though and the sun shone, so we made good use of kayaks, paddle boards and row boats all provided free of charge to explore the loch which is so quiet and peaceful compared to others such as Lomond (and look out for porpoises).
Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming; nothing was too much trouble and we really couldn't have hoped for a more unforgettable holiday.

Perfect holiday home.
Doug went out of his way to make us feel welcome and supply everything we could possibly need.
The holiday home was spacious and very comfortable and set in an amazing location right on the Loch side looking up at the Cobbler. Great fun out on the water or relaxing on the decking or in the hot tub.
It was a great week. I would definitely recommend Doug and Ardmay Lettings.

Dear Audrey
sorry you feel you did not enjoy your stay with us, unfortuanatly your review is in French, however,I have tried my best to translate and understand your complaint.
Please note the chalet does have a UK king size bed, Please see the uk bed size chart below !
4ft UK Small double. 120cm x 190cm / 4' x 6'3" ...
4ft6 UK Double. 135cm x 190cm / 4'6 x 6'3" ...
5ft UK King size. 150cm x 200cm / 5' x 6'6" ...
6ft UK Superking size. 180cm x 200cm / 6' x 6'6"
our advert states we have a king size
our bed is 150 * 200, anything bigger would be superking
I confirm we describe the bathrooms on site as 1.5
1 full bathroom with bath and shower over includes sink and wc, the other room is a wc and wash hand basin no bath or shower.
As to your comment that there is no laundry we offer laundry facilities on site with 2 washers and two dryers all of which are free of charge.
In addition and contrary to your comments made we do have a games room with a combination pool table /air hockey together with darts tv and playstation, located behind the laundry, sorry if this has been lost in translation on your arrival.
Whilst I admit we did enter the chalet while you were out for the day, this was due to the gas engineer arriving unannounced to make a repair to the gas fire ignition circuit which failed while the previous guests were in occupation. I accompanied the engineer and stayed with him for the 20 minute repair and left the bottle of red wine on the table with the view of explaining to you what had happened, however, as you will be aware you were out late that evening and didnt returned until after I had finished at 8.00pm and you departed early on your departure day without dropping by.
I admit we do use reed diffusers in the property, I appologise if these are not to your taste !
The chalet is well described on the homes away website with plenty of pictures available on line therefore I cannot understand what differed from your expectations.

douglas murary
Cosy and practical little house on the very shore at the end of Loch Long, with an incredible view of the Arrochar Alps.
It is perfect for 3-4 people, but can hold up to 6. There were 3 of us and we really enjoyed our time there. You can easily go hiking, or explore the surroundings (Inveraray is not far away, and Loch Lomond is just around the corner; less than an hour drive to Glasgow, traffic permitting), or simple stay put an relax.
The house has all the necessary equipment (even a separate game room at guests' disposal!). And there is a convenience store at the Arrochar crossroads.
And if you need anything else, just drop a word to the host, Douglas, he is most friendly and helpful.
We had a fantastic stay in Arrochar, stunning location and so relaxing. Great way to escape the busy cities and definitely no parking issues.
The host Douglas & his family were very friendly and welcoming, even got invited back for a cuppa if we were passing again. Really good communication before our stay and nothing is any bother to the hosts.
The Chalet is well equipped and an ideal base for enjoying the Highlands. The Chalet is suitable for people of all ages with a range of activities nearby. We visited several places including the Rest and be Thankful and took a trip down to “Toward” which is the headland beyond Dunoon stunning scenery and had a lovely vintage Afternoon Tea in Dunoon. We also took advantage of the games room with a pool table and air hockey.
Thanks again for a great week away.

Stunning location - the perfect getaway
It was an absolute pleasure to stay in Arrochar over the Easter break. The accommodation was comfortable had everything we needed and we couldn't have asked for a better view. It's very central and makes getting around the area and exploring really easy. The photographs don't do the property justice as it is so beautiful. Douglas was an amazing host, even organising an Easter egg hunt for our daughter, which was so thoughtful. The games room is a brilliant addition and was a great place to go in the evenings so our little girl had chance to play. Douglas has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the local area so make sure you ask him about all the amazing places you can visit during your stay! It was the perfect break and we hope to return very soon.

Friendly lodging, great owner, and charming town
We had a great post-Christmas stay here. The house was everything our family wanted, the property’s laundry room and game room were greatly appreciated, and the owner - Douglas - was a complete delight, full of advice about the area and activities and leaping to help at the first opportunity (when it snowed one day, he found sleds for our kids and started shoveling the entire property not long after the first flakes fell), but not intrusive in the slightest. Highly recommend!

Cosy, well-presented with fabulous views
It suited us very well - grandparents, parents and two small children (a high chair would be good). We were able to walk from the proerty - though only on the road - and within short drives there was loads to do. The scenery is stunning, so just staying at the proerty, making use of the balcony was lovely. Had the weather been a bit better, we would have used the barbeque as well!
