This was our first trip to Norfolk and we really enjoyed ourselves. The property is light, airy and spacious and surrounded by fields for country walls and close to the beach and National Trust properties. Kate was helpful and responsive and make us feel relaxed and welcome.

We had a lovely week away in this property that is very well appointed. Kate - the owner - was very helpful too & was always available if we needed anything which most of the time we didn't!
I must mention that the local pub - The Cricketers - was great too! Thoroughly recommended.

Jo, Thank you for your review and for being great guests. We are so pleased you had a great time. Best wishes for 2019, Kate
Probably the best house we have stayed in in the uk. The accommodation was first class with everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed very competitive table tennis, cricket in the garden and boules on the sweeping drive - a nod to holidays in France. Kate was an exceptional host, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back.
Peaceful quiet location. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and clean bed linen. Well kept Garden with patio furniture, childrens toys.
Table tennis and hot tub were popular with all our 8 guests. Plenty of space overall and a very comfortable enjoyable stay. Kate, our host welcomed us and was around if needed.
Overall we all had a lovely time. Our party were 6 adults, 2 children age 3 & 8 + 1 dog. Walking distance to the pub on the Green 5 minutes way, where we watched cricket and the children used the play area.
Wonderful house ideal for our purpose which was a family Christmas with grandparents and young children. The large living space meant that the children could wander around without concern as someone always had an eye on them. Three bedrooms were huge, one being a family room, again ideal for us, the fourth upstairs allowed grandma and grandad to withdraw when needed! Hot tub is a facility which was enjoyed by us all and we found the local pub on the first night just a short stroll down the road and a great pub it is too! Kate our host could not do enough for us, very attentive but not intrusive and first rate communication from booking onwards. It is a house that we would return to without hesitation.

We arrived made ourselves at home a short time after Kate the Manager / Owner came over to welcome us and to ensure that we knew where everything was and made sure we know how to contact her if we had any problems at all. The house was very clean and fresh and a very generous amount of home made short bread was made and given by Kate (Fantastic thanks again Kate) Had a problem with wifi during week phone Kate who came straight over as we were about to go out asked if it was alright to fix whilst we were out by the time we got back had all been fixed great service, only time we needed to contact her as everything else was great. On day of departure Kate popped over just before we left not only to ensure we had a great time and all was ok but also to ask our opinion on anything that can be improved never had that before great touch. Thanks again for a great Holiday hope to see you again.

Fantastic weekend away with the extended family. Property was great for all ages. It was spacious with an amazing social space. The teenagers loved chilling on the beanbags whilst watching tv, the younger children loved playing in the garden, especially the sand pit.
Great location, local pub served great quality food and staff were very friendly. Short drive to Cromer pier.
Host contacted me on the morning of our arrival to explain the check in procedure and how to work the heating etc.
Definitely recommend for a relaxing weekend break.

Lovely property, secluded and quiet with good facilities for a wide age range. Check in, and check out times could be better though, 4pm is very late to check in and start your holiday. There was a long list of 'do's and 'don'ts which didn't really make us feel we could relax . The owner came round the day before check out to 'drop off' bin bags for the laundry, which seeing as there were already bags there seemed to really be just to remind us to strip the beds. We received a text just as we were leaving to remind us of the chores we needed to do. Check out time at 10.00 was too early considering we had to strip the beds, empty the bins, open all windows and doors, empty bathroom bins, put the washing bags in a certain place, all with a request to leave earlier if possible. I'm sure this will be blamed on the pandemic but now it is evidenced that Covid does not live on surfaces this all seems very extreme. The hot tub is a nice extra if you can afford the extra cost. Overall, lovely if don't mind all the instructions, but very expensive for what was really 2 full days with the family.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay.
We note your comments regarding the check in and check out times, but these are generally standard times across the industry. When we only have a day to changeover we need the six hours to make sure the property is properly cleaned, checked and any required maintenance is completed. It also allows us to air the property between guests to minimise any risk of transferring germs from one party of guests to another.
If we have a longer gap between guests departing and arriving we can allow an earlier check in or check out. For any future visits to Chestnut Barn please enquire to see if this is possible.
We are sorry you found some of our requirements slightly onerous. We ask guests to empty bins and put laundry in bags due to the potential risks of Covid being on these frequently touched items. Most guests appreciate this is to keep us, our staff and our future guests as protected as possible. Hopefully once everyone is double vaccinated and the numbers fall we will be able to remove these requirements.
Thank you for leaving the property in such good order and for being great guests. We hope you return to Chestnut Barn soon.
With best wishes,
Kate
Our family enjoyed our stay at the barn, we had babies, infants, children and adults and it accommodated all of us. Accommodation has everything you need, spacious garden, sandpit with toys, table tennis etc. We visited the local black boys pub which we walked to and the food was lovely, friendly staff. We drove into Cromer from the barn which was not far and we also went to Roar Dino land. Would stay again. Thank you

Chestnut Barn is as beautiful when you are there as it is in the pictures. The Barn is the perfect holiday accommodation, with a lovely open plan living area where the family can all enjoy meals and family entertainment. The grounds are ideal for the children to run around.
Kate was so helpful and always available if there were any queries.
Highly recommend Chestnut Barn to anyone wanting a beach holiday, just 20 minutes down the road to beautiful Cromer and Sheringham and the week we were there we could have been anywhere in the world with the weather and views.
Thank you for our stay. x

About the host
Hosted by Kate Hammond
My name is Kate Hammond and I look forward to welcoming guests at Chestnut Barn. The barn is situated on my husband's farm and used to house Great-Grandpa's snooker table and Great-Granny's old car and gardening tools!
Why they chose this property
We have had great feedback from past guests and we cannot wait to welcome more.
Chestnut Barn is in a great location to explore North Norfolk and the property provides fantastic facilities for groups of friends and families.
The garden is so peaceful in the evenings and it is wonderful to sit in the hot tub and to watch the sun setting over the garden.
What makes this property unique
We are lucky enough to live in a lovely part of North Norfolk where there are plenty of market towns providing good shopping but we also have all the advantages a rural location offers. We are also within walking distance of a pub, children's play area and a shop with post office.
We are so close to lots of beautiful beaches which makes it a great place to come on holiday.
