About this property

~~Newly Remodeled Year Round Lake Cabin w/ HOT TUB - On The Whitefish Chain!~~

Newly renovated in 2026, this lake home offers a year-round, huge 9-person Hot Tub with built-in sound system, all new kitchen appliances, a gas fireplace, floor to ceiling knotty pine, a giant wrap around deck, a rainbow play set, a large Weber grill, a Blackstone (my favorite), and a wonderful fire pit. We also have Kayaks and a Peddle Boat for use, and a large water trampoline for the kids to burn off some energy!

The yard is large and flat, making for a great space for lawn games. The property is nestled on 100' of lake shore with a wonderful sand beach, crystal clear water, and excellent swimming; perfect for the kids and adults, alike! Bring your boat or rent one, we've got a place for you to tie-up on our spacious dock!

This lake home comfortably sleeps 12-14 adults! There are 4 enclosed bedrooms and a sofa-bed in the walk-out level living room. We also have 2 pack-n-plays for young children.

There are two bathrooms, one on the main level (Sink, Toilet, Shower) and one on the lower level (Sink, Toilet, Shower, Tub). There is also a washer and dryer in the lower level!

The kitchen comes stocked with all the eating and cooking utensils, including a toaster, popcorn maker, Keurig coffee maker (K-cups & regular pot), a Crock Pot, and an ice maker in the fridge. We also have very good water (filtered and softened), so no need to lug up gallons of bottled water.

Just about every room has a Smart TV with several streaming services to choose from.

In addition, the cabin has central air, however, the structure breaths very nicely in the summer and stays very comfortable.

One other benefit is our location. We are located a very short walking distance to Manhattan Beach Lodge, WCCO 2017 Viewers' Choice for "Best Dockside Bar in Minnesota". There you'll find great dining, bars, live music on Sundays, and the most spectacular sunsets! We are also only a 5 minute drive from many other restaurants, bars, shopping, golfing, camping, and the grocery store.

Overall, this was a great property. There was plenty of room for people to spread out with the 3 bedrooms, the bunk room/loft, and the lower level. The bathroom in the lower level had been completely redone and it was nice and spacious. Beautiful

We had a great family vacation! The house was clean, comfortable beds/bedrooms, and lots of space. Outside there is a quiet bay and really big dock. The kids had fun fishing off the dock. Blackstone was nice to use. There were lots of steps but lift was nice, plenty of parking for trucks and boat trailers.

Thanksgiving Bliss

We booked Dan’s cabin for a yearly Friendsgiving and we had a blast! The space was so cozy with a great kitchen and enough space that we didn’t feel crowded at all. The hot tub was a huge plus. Just wonderful memories already. Thank you so much!

Great Getaway to Crosslake

Great place to stay for kids and parents! Fun spaces to play in and out of the water. Toys and games available for a rainy day. Located on a great little lake blocking the wind with easy access to larger lakes for fun and fishing. Wonderful communication with owner. Definitely recommend!

Kid Friendly

Wonderful place to spend a week with family. The house was supplied with many kid friendly toys. We also took advantage of lake through enjoying the kayaks and lily pad. Would recommend this house to anyone looking to enjoy true Minnesota scenery of the beautiful lake and sound of loons.

Great experience

Great place, owner was easily reached and easy to work with. A bit of a drive to brainerd for shopping but wonderful shopping closer in nisswa. We were there in the fall and enjoyed the large hot tub. This place would be a blast for a family in the summer months with the lake right there and lots of lake activities available. Definitely recommend!

Family Get Together Weekend

We had a great time at the cabin. 6 adults, a 4 yr old and a 9 month old and there was plenty of space for all to be together and also enough separation so you could find space away if wanted. Had everything we needed and more! Our granddaughter especially liked playing on the unicorn float.. and after being in the cold September Lake water,the hot tub was the perfect way to warm up!

Came for a girls trip again. This is the perfect spot for us to relax, laugh, dance and enjoy ourselves. The setting is beautiful. Everything works as it should. Gorgeous area. Clean, roomy, and inviting. Neighbors were a little closer than I realized. There were some small defects that I notified the owner about just so that he is aware and can fix those. I do think that remaking beds and laundry requirements were a bit unexpected when paying a cleaning fee, but I would stay there again if I was in the area.

We are disappointed that we received only 3 stars, which seemed to be geared in part around the terms associated with renting our lake home. Our cleaning fee, what it covers, and what our guests are responsible for (remaking beds prior to check-out) are clearly defined in our rental agreement, which you had accepted and agreed to at the time of booking. Although we feel terrible that our requirements were a turn-off for you, we believe it to be important that guests fully read and understand the terms and conditions prior to accepting any rental agreement to mitigate any surprises down the road. As far as some of the defects such as the broken chair spindle and damaged closet door handle, we appreciate our guest pointing these items out so that we may immediately correct those items for the next people or for my own family for that matter. Hello, my name is Dan!

I'm a single father raising 4 young boys (9-15), a weekend sports chauffer (so it seems), an avid skier, and I work in the medical device manufacturing industry.

I hold dear the memories made at our cabin over the years and really love that I am able to share with others the opportunity and space to make their own memories at our property.

My boys help me run this VRBO, and yep, even my 9 year old gets in on the action! They are learning skills and appreciating the work and love we put into hosting. It's truly a blessing.

Why they chose this property

Back in 2006 was introduced to the town of Crosslake, MN and the beautiful Whitefish Chain of Lakes and visited each summer. Once I had a family of my own I decided that it would be wonderful to keep the Crosslake cabin life tradition going on a more permanent basis for my children to experience. So, in 2014 we purchased our very own slice of heaven here in Crosslake, MN.

We love this place and have made so many wonderful memories here, and it makes us so happy to be able to share it so that other families can have an opportunity to make their own cabin-time memories up at the lake!

What makes this property unique

1. On the Whitefish Chain of Lakes (14 connected lakes, 14,000+ acres of navigable water).
2. Walking distance to Manhattan Beach Lodge (Make sure to visit the Tiki Bar and experience the most beautiful sunset!)
