Great place to stay for hiking or visiting the Minack Theatre

We stayed for a visit to the Minack Theatre, but also took the opportunity to walk a section of the SW Coast path from Penberth Cove to Penzance. Should the weather have been better on the other days we would have done another section the opposite direction, Logan Rock to Land's End! It's a great location for that section should hiking be your hobby, but it's also a short distance from the Minack Theatre which we visited for a show too. It's close proximity to the Logan Rock Inn and Farm & Fort Cafe means that there are options for eating out once you return for your excursions. The Studio is well equipped and cosy, the host has covered a lot of bases with this place (even including a torch which came in handy as we forgot ours!). If you're staying in the area as a couple, it's hard to look past the Studio

A beautiful place to stay just minutes from the Minack Theatre

This is a lovely place to stay in Penzance. It is a bit difficult to navigate without a car, so be sure to look into taxis or buses, if you're attempting to travel without a car. Cornwall is absolutely gorgeous, and the Minack Theatre is almost too good to be true. Stunning. Jeff is a wonderful host! Very responsive and welcoming. Would definitely return!

Perfectly located for the Minnack Theatre

This simple studio has everything you need for a few days away. Milk, tea and coffee is kindly supplied by the owner who came to greet us on arrival. The location is perfect for those wishing to visit the Minnack Theatre or Porthcurno beach. Many thanks to the host who made us feel very welcome and even offered his own electricity for us to charge our car.

Good value accomadation in a beautiful part of the world.

Location is great. Lovely pub, village, beaches and walks nearby. Owner was very welcoming. Accommodation is good value. Its cosy for 2 but has everything you would need for a lengthy stay (we only stayed for 2 nights unfortunately). Picky negative... there is not really any view of any of the lovely countryside from inside the property. There is however a great outdoor space with views. It appears to be a converted garage or outbuilding and as such the windows look back on the owners house.

Excellent location and parking. Jeff was very friendly and helpful.

On closer inspection the dishes and kitchen wear were dirty and the pots and pans need to be replaced. Glasses need to be added too to make complete sets to enable the use of the dishwasher. Linen and bedding were excellent and smelled of the outdoors. A good corner and moulding cleaning would come in handy for the summer season. All in all it was a good place for us.

Staycation 2020

Friendly and helpful owner. Nice quiet location. Comfortable and everything you needed but standard of cleaning was poor. Thick dust in some locations. Some fixtures could do with replacement. Although it says it sleeps 4 people, this could only be children as there would not be enough room for 4 adults. All in all a good stay, but the issues need addressing.

REVIEW FROM DREW HODEL. AMERICAN LAWYER WHO STAYE

Here’s what Drew wrote to Jeff Hardman “In short: Jeff's studio, its location and his hosting were all ideal. I could not recommend the experience highly enough. To be more detailed: I stayed in Jeff's studio for one month. On the studio -- Extremely well-appointed. The studio contains everything you might need. Nice shower, great bed, kitchen full of appliances/dishes, good WIFI, great views, nice little private deck in the back, washing machine, washer, and clothes line out front. On the location -- Treen was described to me (by one of the locals) as the "most gentle place in all of Cornwall" and I could not agree more. Jeff's place is connected to the village of Treen, which itself contains one great pub, a large farm where you can buy very fresh milk and eggs every day, a campsite with a store full of all sorts of goods and small café, among a few other private places. From Jeff's the walk to Porthcurno is about 20 minutes, but it's a glorious walk, along the some of the most gorgeous country I've seen. And, closer than Porthcurno are other little coves/beaches, one of which has an amazing sand bar at low tide, and which I would rate higher than Porthcurno. Even closer still is head land of grand proportions that you can hike on called Logan's Head. The stars come out at night, are big an bright. The air is extremely fresh and clean. The neighbourhood is very quiet and peaceful. And everyone just seemed to take kindness to nth degree. I should also add that out Jeff's backyard is an enormous valley/forest, full of wild streams, horses and cows, which is obviously great to hike through too. On Jeff the host -- Jeff was highly responsive and professional, but also open and kind. He was easy to communicate with, answered all of my questions, gave me recommendations on places to visit, walk, hike and also offered to drive me a few places too. Five Stars! Do it! But please be kind when you arrive too. Treen is a gem that we should all work to take care of.”

Quiet well equipped and clean place to stay

Very pleasant and well-set up place for three of us walking the south west coast path. Good coffee shop, pub and farm shop nearby. Nice breakfast items left for us for the morning. Slightly on the expensive side but it was peak season and it was great to have our own place for the night

Everything you could need

The host was always available to help and answer any questions and was most friendly. The Studio was a delight with a patio and garden. All amenities were provided and the host even put milk in the fridge and tea, coffee & sugar out for us. Scampi, our dog, had a lovely time and was made welcome. The accommodation was marvellous in every way. Thank you so much.
