Lovely spacious cottage, everything you could possibly need. The owners were always quick to respond to any queries we had. Lovely and clean and really well equipped. The village is lovely and you are based central to everything you could want to visit
What a most wonderful stay we had at Acorn Cottage! Not only is the cottage absolutely charming, it is well equipped and our hosts, Stuart and Sally, personable and helpful. We enjoyed time in their beautiful garden as well as walking throughout the darling village of Tideswell which was so accessible from this location. From here, we were also able to enjoy nearby sites including Chatsworth Manor House, Hadden Hall, Eyam, and Castleton where we did the Great Ridge Walk with spectacular views from both sides. We absolutely loved our stay here, so comfortable, peaceful, and lovely. Could not be more appreciative of the memories this darling cottage afforded us.
A wonderful house with a beautiful garden and has all the items you need. The downstairs bedroom was a extra help for elderly relatives. The host is so helpful and lovely to deal with. Tideswell has lots of eating out and such a pretty village. Highly recommend a visit.
We stayed with both sets of older parents (70’s and 80’s) to attend our son’s wedding in Eyam. The house was perfect with a bathroom for everyone. The cottage and garden were very comfortable, relaxing and quiet. The facilities did exactly what we needed for a stay away from home. We had two cars sometimes 3 and if you couldn’t fit in the space, you could easily park at the bottom road.It was flat for my elderly father in law, who was able to shower on the ground floor and who could step outside the cottage and walk a few steps to the car.Throughly recommend the location for great food options and a central point for the Peak District.Stuart and Sally were great at communicating and making sure our stay went to plan. Thank you so much.
Plenty of space and facilities for 3 couples. Absolutely everything thought of, so well equipped. Very comfortable sitting room to settle into after a day exploring. Village has everything. Can’t recommend highly enough
Cannot fault Acorn Cottage in any way. Clean, tidy and great facilities. A real treat to stay in. Mattresses were so comfortable and armchairs and sofas too. Garden is beautiful although we didn't get too much opportunity to use it. Feel thoroughly refreshed after a week here. Stuart was very helpful from day 1 of booking.
A spacious cottage full of character in picturesque Tideswell
As soon as we walked through the door we felt at home. Full of character, beautifully furnished and all the utensils you needed for a memorable stay. Stuart was an excellent host and was always available to answer our queries and provide invaluable information about the local area.
Our trip was a post-lockdown family reunion so for my older father the downstairs bedroom and bathroom was ideal and was referred to as the paternal wing. We enjoyed family meals at the large dining table and then relaxing in the cosy sitting room. The mature garden on several levels was beautiful with different areas to explore. Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather we were unable to enjoy it to the full.
Tideswell had everything we needed, and we enjoyed eating out at the Star and the Anchor. We visited Cauldwell mill, a trip on the peak railway, Eyam and its museum, Crich tramway, Asbourne, Bakewell and Buxton.
We had a wonderful time in this lovely family home and were sad to leave. We hope to return one day.
With thanks and best wishes,
Lauren, Dave, Brian, Ali and Ray.
A fantastic cottage with all the utensils and amenities you could want. Clear instructions as to how to use things. Parking easy and free in the market square.
A very pretty property inside and out, in a lovely village setting. Facilities were as described and there was everything that you could need for a week away from home. Parking can be a little tight if events are happening in the village but a short walk solves this.
A lovely property which is really nicely equipped and decorated. There are good walks around and some nice ones from the cottage. Tideswell has a few handy shops and places to eat and drink.
Great cottage in a great location.
Very well equipped and comfortable.
Lovely village with easy access to surrounding area.
Highly recommended, would definitely return.
Thanks for allowing us to stay.

Beautifully finished and very comfortable cottage in an ideal location for exploring the peaks with several lovely walks straight out of the door. Parking is inevitably a bit tight in this wonderful ancient little town.

Wonderful well equipped cottage. Spacious enough and perfect layout for a family gathering.
Acorn cottage is Located on a quiet lane overlooking the village with a beautiful terraced rear garden perfect for sitting in the early morning sun with coffee or enjoying an evening glass of wine. The cottage interior is to a high standard and at the same time comfortable and welcoming. The lay out was perfect for our nervous dog as she could sleep in the corridor outside the ground floor bedroom which we occupied -so no fretting. We enjoyed a family gathering, with plenty of walks in the Peak District for the more active family members and plenty of easier strolls with tea shops for the less active. It was great to all come together back at the cottage at the end of the day to enjoy a meal around the large dining table or,weather permitting on the patio. I would recommend this cottage and will hopefully be returning.

Lovely Cosy Cottage
We stayed in the cottage as a family over the weekend of my niece's wedding. We needed a cottage with a ground floor bedroom and facilities for my mother - the bride's grandma. So it was chosen for its facilities rather than any other reason. It met all our requirements and then exceeded them brilliantly. The lounge is lovely and cosy, but big enough for all. Everything was in the kitchen the bedrooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The beds were lovely and comfy. There was a Co-op in easy reach for supplies and the village is pretty - if steep in parts. In the summer I imagine that the garden is a nice place to sit (but we were there in the depths of winter). I would recommend this cottage wholeheartedly.
