The property is located in the small, friendly, typical Tuscan village of Brandeglio. Brandeglio has retained its unspoilt beauty and is known for its festas and traditions. The thermal spa town of Bagni di Lucca is 10/15 minutes drive away. The house dates back to the 18th century and still maintains a number of its original features. It boasts spacious accommodation and offers an idyllic base to explore Pisa, Florence and Lucca as well as the stunning and famous coastline of the Cinque Terre. The house provides suitable accommodation for both families and friends. Pisa airport is approx. 1 hour 15 mins drive away and is serviced well by Ryanair and Jet2 flights. Local attractions include water sports including zip line, paddleboarding and climbing at https://www.canyonpark.it/#, horse trekking, white water rafting, golf, quadbiking, thermal spa, cycling, and these combined with the peace and tranquillity of the village which offers extensive walking trails and truffle hunting areas ( if you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of wild boar, deer and porcupine) provides a base for relaxation and adventure. Nearby Bagni di Lucca has supermarkets and a general host of shops, banks, bars, cafes and restaurants. It also has a stunning open air public swimming pool (main pool, childrens' pool and diving pool), sunloungers, and a café/bar with a games area. Bagni di Lucca is a historical thermal spa town and offers spa treatments for those seeking an indulgent treat. Tuscany is reknowned for its love of sumptuous food and fine wine and there is plenty of opportunity to sample both in the area. For those wanting to travel a bit further the historical Sienna and San Gimignano are approx. 2 hours drive away and the beach at Viarregio/Lido di Camaiore is approx. just over 1 hour's drive away.

Disappointing and incomplete description

The place is not described accurately. Perfect for a retreat if you don’t want to be disturbed as there is no telephone network. The access to the house can be challenging for people with young children or of a certain age. You will have to unload few meters away from the house as the street is higher in the village. Once you arrive in the house, it is as described, with some additional dust everywhere and a greasy kitchen. The TV is only used for DVD as no signal. The most pleasant place to be as a family is outside on the patio with the view, otherwise it is too tiny inside. We have hired in the past a typical mountain house for family time to be all together with limited modern distractions, however this place is not family friendly. Pity as the village looked nice.

Die Ferienwohnung war absolut dreckig und unhygienisch. Die Böden waren staubig. Es lagen tote Fliegen auf den Schränken. Überall waren Spinnenweben an den Decken und Wänden. Die Bettwäsche war fleckig, sogar Blutflecken waren auf der Bettwäsche. In der Küche hatten wir Ameisen im Schrank. Wir konnten beide Kühlschränke nicht benutzen. In einem war Schimmel und den anderen konnten wir nicht benutzen weil wir in der Küche keinen Strom hatten. Bei Benutzung des Backofens ist die Sicherung geflogen. Somit konnten wir Backofen und Kühlschrank nicht mehr Nutzen. Im Keller waren die Wände feucht und die Salpeterausdünstung war deutlich erkennbar. Es hat in dem Haus auch muffig gerochen. Vom Vermieter wurden in jedem Raum Duftspender aufgestellt. An den Decken und Wänden waren Wasserflecken zu sehen. In einem Badezimmer floss das Wasser im Waschbecken nicht ab. Die Betten bestanden aus einzelnen Couchteilen und einer Matratze. Man hat jede Feder gespürt beim Versuch zu schlafen. Die Traglast des Daches war auch fragwürdig. Die Dachbalken wurden durchgesägt und die vorhandenen Lücken mit Schutt aufgefüllt. Die Bar mit Gratis Wlan gibt es nicht mehr. Im Ort gibt es kein Internet oder Empfang mit dem Handy. Erst nach 20 Minuten Autofahrt in den nächsten Ort gibt es Empfang mit dem Handy. Die Straße zum Ort ist gefährlich und nicht für Fahranfänger geeignet. Nach einer Beschwerde wurde uns Das Haus storniert und wir haben unser Geld zurück bekommen.

Ein netter Platz zum Entspannen

Uns hat es sehr gut im abgelegenen Dorf Brandeglio gefallen. Die Aussicht vom Balkon aus auf die apuanische Alpen genossen wir am meisten. Die Leute dort waren sehr freundlich und das Wasser holen unten am Brunnen war mal etwas anderes. Was man in der Beschreibung auf jeden Fall ändern bzw streichen sollte ist die Möglichkeit, dass man dort in der Bar Internet hat bzw es ein RestauHant gibt, auch dass man nicht ganz mit dem Auto ans haus fahren kann. Das war uns nicht ganz klar und ärgerte mich, als wir am ersten Tag hungrig ankamen und feststellen musdten, dass es kein Restaurant in der Nähe gibt.

Manca la connessione per poter vedere la televisione. In cucina, se la proprietà lasciasse l'interno dei mobili un po più vuoti sarebbe meglio. Il mocio per pulire per terra dava a desiderare. Per il resto tutto bene!

Vistas increibles

La casa era como esperaba, la terraza y las vistas increíbles. El problema era la carretera, 20 minutos de curvas . Si quieres descansar este es tu sitio. Para visitar los alrededores no, pierdes mucho tiempo subiendo y bajando la montaña.

la Toscane authentique

Le village de Brandeglio fait partie des 37 petites localités perchées dans les colines toscanes et regroupées sous la commune de Bagni de lucca. Ce petit village rural vit du tourisme et de la volonté des habitants permanents pour l'entretenir. Il est magnifique et la maison mise à disposition est typique et jolie. La vue et les paysages sont grandioses. Le calme et la proximité avec la nature sont exceptionnels.le confort de la location est correct et pratique. Nous étions 8 personnes dont deux enfants et tous ont apprécié le séjour. La distance kilométrique avec les sites touristiques d'exception tels Firenze et les "cinque terre" font que nous avons privilégié le train à partir de Lucca. Pour résumer nous sommes restés tres peu sur place car toujours en vadrouille, la location est éloignée de ces sites donc il faut disposer d'un bon véhicule et prévoir de nombreuses heures de circulation sur des routes étroites et trés sinueuses notamment à l'approche de Brandiglio. Le temps dont nous disposions était trop court pour profiter pleinement de la campagne, des ballades et des habitants. Lorsque nous sommes arrivés les lits étaient faits, l'eau chaude fonctionnait ainsi que le gaz pour la cuisine. Un agréable séjour que nous recommandons.

Veel te afgelegen en te veel bochten (65) om beneden te komen!!!

Wij hebben 4 ipv 14 nachten in dit huis gewoond. Na een gevaarlijke tocht naar boven, waarbij we bij elke bocht zonder begrenzing van de weg, in de afgrond keken. We konden in het donker het huis niet direct vinden en hebben wij aan de bewoners moeten vragen waar het huis was. Met een kruiwagen moesten we onze tassen naar boven rijden. Het huis was goed maar de locatie verschrikkelijk afgelegen. Het zwembad was gesloten en als we boodschappen moesten doen duurde het een half uur voordat we beneden en bij de supermarkt waren. We gaan hier nooit meer heen. Jammer genoeg kregen we geen geld terug voor de dagen dat we geannuleerd hebben. Maar gelukkig hebben we snel een ander huis gevonden met een grote tuin en in de bewoonde wereld!

Excellent séjour !

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine du 15 août à Brandeglio.L'endroit est charmant et ses habitants adorables.Tous les soirs étaient organisés des concerts,des karaokés...etc...sur la place du village. La location était confortable,rien ne manquait et les amis de la propriétaire étaient prêts à intervenir en cas de besoin. Nous recommandons l'endroit aux amoureux de la nature et du calme qui ne seront pas pour autant très éloignés des centres touristiques de ce coin de Toscane.

Beautiful and exotic !

The place is in a remote village up in the mountains of Tuscany. The view is breathtaking and this 18th century has the charm of it’s age and yet all the equipment and facilities you need. If your willing to drive up and down a narrow winding road for about six km to acces this charming village, I strongly recommend it. Day trips to Pisa, Cinq Terre and region are feasible.

Un tuffo nel passato

La casa, risalente al XVIII sec. e ricca di atmosfera, si trova in un paesino in cima ad un colle e dalla terrazza si gode di una vista spettacolare sulla valle e i paesini circostanti, anch'essi abbarbicati ai loro rispettivi colli. Si percepisce subito che l'abitazione è stata - ed è - un luogo vissuto, curato, in cui non manca niente; e ci si sente subito a casa. Il paese è tranquillo, gli abitanti sono gentili e discretamente ti salutano per strada come per darti il benvenuto. Siamo stati a Brandeglio in pieno agosto, in fuga dalla calura di una città di pianura, e abbiamo approfittato del fresco della sera cenando sulla terrazza. La posizione geografica è ideale come punto di partenza per visitare la Valle del Serchio, la Garfagnana, la Lucchesia; ma si arriva rapidamente anche al mare di Viareggio e Forte dei Marmi, così come a Pisa, Livorno e Firenze. Dalla strada principale si raggiunge il paese in circa 12 minuti per una stradina a volte stretta e con tornanti, ma fortunatamente senza traffico. Col buio, se siete fortunati, potrete anche vedere i caprioli che vi attraversano la strada - attenzione! La sensazione di pace e serenità per noi è stata sicuramente dovuta anche al fatto che nessuno dei nostri telefoni cellulari - di tre gestori diversi! - riceveva il segnale nella casa e nel paese, ma i locali sembravano usare il cellulare, quindi forse l'unico gestore che non avevamo è anche l'unico che funziona (inizia con la T e finisce con la M...). Da segnalare che, sebbene non si possa arrivare con la macchina davanti all'abitazione, situata nel cuore del paese, tra vicoli ripidi e tortuosi - da vedere il passaggio coperto sotto la chiesa! - si può salire tranquillamente fino alla vicina piazza principale per scaricare bagagli o spese (o anche parcheggiare, permesso quasi sempre eccetto luglio e agosto), per poi lasciare la vettura all'inizio del paese, a 5 minuti di passeggiata. L'unico esercizio commerciale di Brandeglio, per quel che abbiamo potuto vedere, è il bar pizzeria - forno a legna - poco prima dell'ingresso al paese, quindi attenzione a non dimenticarvi niente quando andate al supermercato! In definitiva, sicuramente uno dei posti più belli dove abbiamo alloggiato, ci torneremmo subito!

Wow - amazing!!!

What a an amazing place. Absolutely stunning views from the balcony where we ate our meals, sat and read books, drank wine and played cards. The house was spotless and fully equipped with everything anyone could need ( in fact the kitchen was better equipped than mine at home!). Perfect location for visiting the major tourist attractions ( we went to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca, Pisa) and great to retreat to away from the crowds. For the more sporty of us, there was wild swimming, zip wires, white water rafting, quad bike riding, horse riding, fishing and mountain biking, all within easy reach. The village was beautiful and the silence was a godsend. What a way to chill out!

Wonderfull weekend stay

Booked this stay for a weekend with my husband , arrived in the evening , so when we sat on the balcony we could not see any views , after waking next morning we were amazed bu the views from the villa , the scenery is stunning , the house is spotless with everything you would need for a fantastic comfortable stay, the village is very quaint and plenty to do in the local area , we will defiantly be returning can not wait to go back
