Family Friendly Home Close To Lakeside, Marblehead, Cedar Point & the Islands

Our single story, 2-bedroom house is located on a quiet street just steps outside of Lakeside. With so many options and attractions, this is the perfect spot for your family to enjoy it all. The Kelley’s Island ferry as well as the quaint town of Marblehead is a short bike ride away. The Marblehead lighthouse is less than two miles and offers tours (check their schedule). The historic Lakeside Community is literally steps away and just a short car ride, providing a wide diversity of activities for all ages. You and your family can enjoy a range of Lakeside programs including: Educational conferences, Religious programs, arts and crafts, musical programs, performing arts, culinary classes, water activities (swimming and sailing lessons), children's programs, and a range of sports (shuffleboard, miniature golf, tennis and basketball). Both Lakeside and Marblehead offer many parks, restaurants and shopping areas to enjoy. Cedar Point is 25 minutes and the African Wildlife Safari Park is 10 minutes. The ferry to Kelley’s Island is about a mile and the ferry or jet express to Put-In-Bay (Middle Bass Island) is about 15 minutes.

The layout of the home is very fun and open, gathering spaces are available with a large living room, eat in kitchen and outdoor yard and seating area. The bedrooms are configured to maximize flexibility, master bedroom containing 1 queen bed the second bedroom containing 1 queen bed and a full/twin bunk. Sleeping a house of 6-8 is never a problem.
Our home offers plenty of off street parking, a grassy yard to play in with a grill and patio table and chairs. There is a full-size washer and dryer off the kitchen for all of your laundry needs. Three window air conditioners keep the entire home comfortable for those extra hot summer days and nights. The television in the family room is ready for you to sign in to your favorite apps/television subscription. You will find a full stocked Kitchen as well as all the essentials just as if you were at home; a Keurig coffee maker, toaster and microwave.

Check-out instructions

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Ensure all used dishes are washed. Remove all of your items from the refrigerator.
Remove and bag all trash and place in the large green trash barrel. Trash barrel goes to the curb on Monday night and goes back in-between the shed and garage Tuesday when it’s emptied.
If you have used the grill be sure you have left it clean and the propane is shut off.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Trash Can is between garage and shed, please bag all trash and leave it in the can upon your departure. Trash goes to curb Monday nights.
NO fish cleaning on property! The skunks and raccoons will destroy. Fish cleaning free at public launch.
No deep frying of any kind in the house.

This sweet rental house was very conveniently situated for our explorations of Catawba, Marblehead, Sandusky, and Kelleys Island. We appreciated the quiet location back from the busy road, found everything we needed for our 2-night stay, and enjoyed good sleep on the comfortable beds.

This was an adorable little home right in between Lakeside and Marblehead. It was nestled within 5 to 10 minutes of every location we went over the last three days, which is just perfect. We were in town for a family reunion, so we really only used the home for sleeping, but it definitely has everything that you would need for a nice stay and a visit to the area.

Great location for fishing and weekend getaway

Rebecca was a great host. House was clean and easy access. It is in a great location and close to two major boat ramps to put our boat in to go bass fishing. Lots of food and grocery stores close by. Also lots of electric outlets to charge boat battery outside. We loved it and look forward to coming back next year or this summer again.

Never had to adjust the thermostat. The temperature in the house was comfortable the entire stay. Host had her son helps us get towels. Bring seasonings!

Summer in Marblehead

We live in NW Ohio and love getting away to the Marblehead area, which is normally just day trips. This summer our kids were at an age where we wanted to get some beach time at the Shores at Cedar Point with our season passes. We loved this cottage right next to Lakeside - fun local resturants nearby - we hit up Bruno's Pizza and wing night (Wednesdays) at Cleats. We always get our ice cream at Brown's Dairy Dock. Our kids loved the cottage and were very excited every day when we returned. It was the perfect retreat as we enjoyed lake life. Our kids are already plotting our next trip back haha.

We live on the west side of Cleveland and enjoy spending our summers at the lake! Our house is located on the border of Lakeside and we find this the best of both worlds. Only paying the gate fee if we plan on going into Lakeside. We are a mile away from Marblehead and the area offers two public boat launching ramps, lots of places to walk and ride bikes.

Why they chose this property

Growing up in Lakeside we fell in love with our location, since it is on the border of lakeside. We have a nice yard and relaxing outside is peaceful, we don’t get a lot of traffic down our road (there are only 4 houses on our street).
