L'Ancienne Distillerie - gîte Rémy Martin

Set in the heart of Cognac’s famous Grande Champagne vineyards, this former distillerie is now a spacious 4-bedroom gîte – perfect for two families, a group of friends or a multi-generational holiday.

Just 10 minutes from Cognac, it’s a relaxed countryside base for exploring the Charente.

L'Ancienne Distillerie is an estate made up of 4 holiday cottages, formerly the buildings of a traditional Cognac distillery.

Shared spaces include the large swimming pool, games room and large back garden. The cottages are independent and without direct sight lines, providing a perfect balance between group living and private spaces.

Outside, you'll enjoy over an acre of landscaped gardens with BBQ area, an enclosed 13m x 6m pool and a games room with table tennis, table football and pool table – not to mention swings, slides and space for the kids to run free.

Bed linen and bath towels are provided.
There is high speed WiFi and a Smart TV so you can stay connected.

We moved to France in 2021 for a slower pace of life. With our 2 teenage boys, we love travelling, meeting people, eating good food, discovering local cultures and exploring beautiful new places. Life motto - Life is too short to be unhappy!

Why they chose this property

Set in the heart of the Charente countryside, our estate is surrounded by rolling hills and endless vineyards, where the pace of life slows down and every day feels a little more relaxed.

We fell in love with this area for its authentic charm and timeless beauty — golden stone buildings, elegant arches, and the quiet character of a traditional Cognac distillery. There’s a real sense of history here, deeply connected to the world of Cognac, with renowned houses, local producers and vineyard landscapes shaping the culture of the region.

Life here is simple and gentle: mornings start with fresh bread from the village, days unfold between nature, heritage and good food, and evenings are best enjoyed outdoors as the sun sets over the vines.

It’s a place to slow down, reconnect and experience the true art de vivre of southwest France.

What makes this property unique

What makes our property truly special is the blend of authentic character and warm, intimate atmosphere. Set within a former Cognac distillery, the estate is deeply rooted in the local culture, with beautiful stone walls, original arches and traditional blue shutters that give it a timeless charm.

At the same time, it remains a small, human-scale estate, where everything feels personal, relaxed and welcoming — never crowded, always easy to enjoy. We’ve put a lot of care into creating a place with good energy and a genuine home-from-home feel, where guests can truly unwind.

Alongside this character, you’ll find all the modern comforts you’d expect, including high-speed WiFi and Smart TVs, so you can stay connected while enjoying a slower pace of life.

It’s this balance between history, comfort and atmosphere that makes staying here a little bit different.
