Set in the heart of Cognac’s famous Grande Champagne vineyards, this former distillerie is now a spacious 4-bedroom gîte – perfect for two families, a group of friends or a multi-generational holiday.
Just 10 minutes from Cognac, it’s a relaxed countryside base for exploring the Charente.

L'Ancienne Distillerie is an estate made up of 4 holiday cottages, formerly the buildings of a traditional Cognac distillery.
Shared spaces include the large swimming pool, games room and large back garden. The cottages are independent and without direct sight lines, providing a perfect balance between group living and private spaces.

Inside, you’ll find a large open-plan living area with lounge, dining and fully equipped kitchen, plus 4 comfortable bedrooms (2 doubles, 2 twins) and 2 shower rooms. French doors open onto a private covered terrace for long lunches and evening meals outdoors.

Outside, you'll enjoy over an acre of landscaped gardens with BBQ area, an enclosed 13m x 6m pool and a games room with table tennis, table football and pool table – not to mention swings, slides and space for the kids to run free.

Having moved to France in 2021 to spend more time together as a family, we are a couple in our late forties with 2 teenage children and a passion for exploring the world. We love meeting people, eating good food, sunshine, exploring the outdoors, walking, hiking and cycling and discovering beautiful new places on our gorgeous planet. Life motto - Life is too short to be unhappy!

Why they chose this property

We chose this property as we felt it perfectly match what we were looking to do; not too big that it was impersonal not too small that we would not be able to give our guests the space they needed. We felt that it was important for guests to decide what sort of holiday they wanted; peace, quiet and tranquility or if they preferred to be able to join together with other guests to share events, games, BBQs and experiences. So we have created a mix of private areas and public areas around the site so people can escape or join in as they please.
The property is also perfectly located for visits to Cognac town and visits to the local cognac producers, the coast and easily accessible from the Uk and Europe.

What makes this property unique

When I think about France I dream of blue shutters and grape vines. Here the vines cover the surrounding rolling hills and lead down into the picturesque river valley. We have the dream and we are happy to share it with you.
