About this property
Beautiful Devon Cottage near Exeter with easy access to the moors & coast
Apple Tree Cottage is a lovely two bedroom cottage.
This cottage is a firm favourite with couples outside of the school holidays, known for the peace and quiet, but with easy access to the moors and coasts. Plus it is perfect for families during the school holidays as there is so much to do on site.
Set on one level, there is one double bedroom and one twin bedroom and a large family bathroom to the right of the property.
Then a large open plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher to the left of the building.
With beautiful maple wooden floors throughout and a lovely view from the living area to the front of the property, across the courtyard and onto the tree house/play area and orchard.
Apple Tree Cottage has its own private garden via the back stable door, which also offers lovely views up the meadow. The garden has outdoor seating, an Indian fire bowl and a Weber charcoal BBQ.
Guests are also free to explore the rest of the 15 acres of land with its streams, meadows and wood.
Additionally there is a wood fired oven to hire (£10), outdoor bathroom (with two traditional cast iron baths & a shower) and plenty of games available. We also have a games room with pool table and an on site micro shop, with some local offerings.
One or two well behaved dogs are allowed in Apple Tree Cottage for a fee of £25 per dog.

About the host
Hosted by Vicky & Nick Ritchens
Having spent many years being lucky enough to live & travel abroad, my husband & I realised we wanted to base ourselves in the UK.
Devon became a favourite of ours, with its rolling countryside & proximity to the coast. Plus having family here, meant it was the perfect place to move & begin our dream of running holiday cottages.
We fell in love with UK holidays, having stayed in lots of holiday cottages.
As soon as we saw it, we realised East Forde Farm was the place to do this and to share it with guests, who love it as much as we do, is just perfect.
We have been running it since 2014 and we are so lucky to have gained 5* reviews across all platforms. The site has evolved and improved as the years have gone by, which has been helped by our guests and their wonderful feedback.
You really can get back to nature here, relax and unwind whilst exploring Devon.
We look forward to welcoming you here soon. Vicky, Nick, Maddy & Moon & Arlo the dogs!

Why they chose this property
We love the area as only 20 minutes from Exeter and its wealth of shops, restaurants, University & nightlife. But we are set in a rural area, surrounded by beautiful Devon countryside and on our doorstep is a farm shop, great local pub and village shop.
What makes this property unique
We have stayed in many holiday cottages, but to stay where you not only have a private garden but access to 15 acres of varied land is something really special.
With a wood, a mature apple orchard, meadows, streams and pathways joining them all together - East Forde Farm really is a destination in itself.
