About this property
Traditional stone cottage in Barkisland. Superb views. Pet friendly. Four Stars.
Heather Bank Cottage has been converted from a 19th Century stone barn, retaining the natural stone walls and timber beams, and has a quiet outlook over the garden and surrounding South Pennine countryside.
The cottages are next to our main house, and we are normally at home to welcome you and show you round.
We are awarded a four stars grading following inspection by VisitBritain, and are part of the We're Good to Go scheme. During Covid, we allow 24 hours between lets for enhanced cleaning.
Dogs are welcome. We have two acres of woodland garden to explore and there is good dog walking on bridleways direct from the doorstep.
There is one bedroom with twin beds. A high quality sofa bed provides extra sleeping in the open plan lounge area upstairs. Families find that this arrangement works well.
This cottage has level access, with ground floor bathroom and bedroom, and may be more suitable for mobility impaired.
Pets and children are welcome to explore our two acre woodland garden, with picnic tables and hammocks to play in. The cottage is good for visitors with pets, as it opens directly into the garden area.
Both our cottages are awarded Four Stars by Visit Britain, and are fully equipped and furnished. We are connected to a wireless broadband network for free internet and email.
We are in a country location, close to the villages of Barkisland and Ripponden, within 15 minutes of Halifax and Huddersfield town centres. We are ideally situated for exploring Bronte country and historic West Yorkshire.

Our stay was great and well managed by Stan and Elaine. We are so incredibly thankful to have found this great place, a magical back garden and a location well away from the chaos of London. Will definitely be hoping to return. Don't be surprised if you leave your window open and get a visit from Holly the cat who has been known to invite herself over several times a day :) It just adds to the atmosphere.

Lovely cozy, warm and very clean both Stan and Elaine very welcoming.
After a pretty horrendous few weeks moving house we found ourselves between houses and at breaking point. Stayed at this cottage for a week and it was a godsend, a little sanctuary. Stan and Elaine were very welcoming and amenable to our pets. The cottage was very clean, cozy and warm and had everything needed for our stay, the woodland garden was a lovely aspect and very calming. Would definitely stay again if we were back up in Yorkshire. Thanks again Stan and Elaine for a wonderful stay at your cottage.
