About this property
Sleep in a caboose on a 65 acre buffalo ranch!
Looking for a completely unique vacation? Sleep in our restored 1960's caboose! Completely renovated on the inside to ensure rest & relaxation while visiting the Smokies. The caboose has a private master bedroom, a cupola for the kids to sleep in, a full kitchen to cook meals in! You can literally lay in bed & see the buffalo herd out in the pasture!
Enjoy making memories while making smores over the fire pit outside as you watch the bison grazing in the field. Truly, Buffalo roam on this private 65 acre little piece of heaven tucked away in the mountains. Whether watching the sunrise over the mountain peaks while the Smoky Mountains clear up for a beautiful day, or setting your sights on our herd of buffalo coming for their morning oats. You will not be disappointed while you are enjoying a hot cup of coffee or cocoa on our large back deck of a unique rental!
If you are looking for a quiet 'get away from it all' retreat, this is it! Enjoy long hikes on the property, fishing within walking distance from the caboose or take a trip into town to do some shopping or antiquing.
Children will love the hike through the woods to the brand play area, The BC Corral! This custom designed area has everything from swings, zip line, slides, teeter totter, cargo nets, rock wall & even a horse shoe pit for the adults! The kids will love it here!
A stay at Buffalo Creek Vacations is surely one that your family will always enjoy looking back on!
We are pet friendly, size doesn't matter!

About the host
Hosted by Cheryl Hillis

My brothers & my husband had shared a vision of expanding my fathers buffalo ranch when additional property became available to purchase. With all our knowledge & experiences combine we have built 4 log homes & have been renting them out since 2004. Once my husband retires from the US Army in about 5 yrs our dream will be to build our log cabin on the property & be more hands on. God has blessed us beyond our wildest dreams. We hope you love the mountains like we have all come to love being transplants from a very flat NY!
Why they chose this property
My father had a love for trains & it was his idea to purchase the cabooses & turn them in to vacation rentals, We thought it would be very cool to tie in w/ the bison. Kind of gives it an 'ol western feel! Most folks think you have to go out west to see bison & they are surprised to find a herd in the Smoky Mountains of NC!
What makes this property unique
While staying at in our 1960's restored caboose we feel you will really enjoy the peace & tranquility of being secluded on 65 acres. The children will just love looking out the windows & literally seeing the bison roaming out in the pasture!
Another great amenity is the kids being able to "unplug" & take a hike to our custom designed playground as well as seeing the miniature horse, buffalo, goats & llamas.
