Peaceful stay in Yosemite

Nice location in Southern Yosemite not far from Mariposa Grove. House was spacious and clean. Plenty of supplies for family comfort. Huge deck making for perfect family grilling. Recommend you buy food outside park to avoid high prices of local markets.

We had plenty of room and any cooking equipment you could ask for. It was clean and quiet. Wifi and tv were great. The only drawback for us was the long drive to and from tge valley.

Cozy Cabin in the Heart of Yosemite

The cabin met our needs for 2 families. A little awkward with the bathroom setup, but the space overall was great. There is floor to floor carpet in both bathrooms, which felt unsanitary. Otherwise, the location is beautiful and there is a lovely grocery market right down the street.

Amazing Property

This place is about an hour outside of Yosemite Valley. However, the town shop was at the end of the street and the shop workers were so nice. The house was great and they really thought of everything. Thank you for being so accommodating to my two nieces (2 years and one under 1 year). We will book again for sure.

We almost got snowed in. Owners were super helpful. They even brought us a snow shovel!!

We loved this property! So spacious and comfortable. Perfect for the six of us. An easy 45 minute drive to Yosemite Valley. Loved the wood burning stove. The kitchen was spacious, the beds were comfy. A late season storm almost snowed us in. The owners’ staff were incredibly helpful and kind. They brought us a snow shovel and even helped find some snow chains for our car. We’re definitely coming back to this house!

Perfect spot in Yosemite

We stayed here for a few days with family visiting from Germany. We generally avoid Yosemite during the summer due to the crowds, but this end of the park was great. The property is close to the south entrance, and the Mariposa Grove, and a reasonable drive into the valley (Get there early to secure parking). The house itself was comfortable--plenty of comfortable places to sit. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals, and there was a gas grill outside. The beds were comfortable. All in all, a great stay!

Not a stay

We were never provided entry information to the property. The night before our arrival we were informed the town was evacuated. After much aggravation the rent except for a VAT fee was reimbursed. Poor communication

Lovely home. Kitchen has lots of cookware and dishes. We used the grill and it worked perfectly. Plenty of room for 10 ppl. Washer and dryer were a nice addition, if a little inconvenient inside one of the bedrooms. Only disappointment was the shower situation- low water pressure and only 1 person could shower at a time. Don’t even think about running the dishwasher or a load of laundry at the same time as sometime is showering. Water would fluctuate from scalding hot to freezing cold and the pressure would drop. We figured it out on the first night and made sure we alternated showers between the 2 bathrooms. Overall it’s a great location, very convenient to Mariposa Grove and a waterfall hike. About an hour drive to the Yosemite Valley.

Wawona house

Overall it was OK. We expected this to be a little more private but it's right in the middle of a neighborhood. The water pressure was very low....only one person could shower at a time. There was a funky odor when entering. The air filter looked like it had not been changed for a very long time. Only 2 burners worked on the stove. I reached out to the management/owner and never got a reply. Yosemite village was an hour drive without traffic....this is much closer to Mariposa Grove, 15-20 minutes. We've stayed at several VRBO's and this is the first time nobody responded to a message. We just kinda figured things out as we went. No hair dryer to be found...minor, but still something they could provide. We would not stay here again.

Nice little cabin

Overall, it was fine and I would rent again. Cons: Management communication. I emailed day before check in asking if early check in was possible. No response. Once checked in, there were only 2 total rolls of toilet paper in the house. Asked them to bring more (and paper towels). They did respond and said the would bring some. They dropped off only 3 rolls in an open package. They did not bring any paper towels. We had to buy very expensive TP at the local store. There were many tiny ants on the counters. Only one propane tank and you would need to buy one if you run out of propane. They should have a back up. Pros: Good location in Wawona. Besides the ants, place seemed pretty clean. Nice wrap around deck Quiet neighborhood Be aware that to get to one of the bedrooms, you need to go through a bathroom.

This host is the worst, hands down

We stayed in the cabin for 2 nights and since I didn't receive check-in details at booking, I contacted HomeAway a week in advance. Customer support told me that I'd receive all details 2 days in advance. Since nothing came through, I sent a message to our host the morning of our check-in at 8.30am - asking for her to send me the address and check-in info or call me. As there's no coverage in Yosemite, I got worried as we approached the park and still had no info, so I called HomeAway. After 30 mins on the line, support told us that they can't get hold of our host. :( As we arrived to Wawona, we started to investigate. Stopped at multiple points to ask about our host and showed the picture of the house - without success. With a party of 7 and no accommodation in peak season in Yosemite, we were quite worried and mostly upset at this point. So we called HomeAway once more, stayed on the line 30 more minutes in front of the local library, the only place where you can find public wifi (remember, there's no cell coverage). We called the host's number several times from multiple numbers, but our calls always landed directly on her voicemail - and she never called us back! Finally, HomeAway support got hold of her and directed us to the cabin. And the best part comes now: the liar host claimed that she sent me a message and also promised to forward that message to me later to prove her point - which she never did, of course. She also claimed that HomeAway's system is unreliable and that's why her message got lost - another clear lie as I could see my messages being delivered to her - and we also received messages from other hosts for a future booking at the same time. Nevertheless, she had no explanation whatsoever for not responding to her messages and not being available on the day of check-in and leaving her guests in the dark. Later, she called back my wife (I mentioned we tried to call her from multiple numbers) and claimed that she sent the check-in information to her - but that number wasn't even in the booking - which proves that it was another clear lie. That's why I'm saying that this host is the _worst you can imagine_, hands down. Otherwise, the cabin is what you'd imagine it to be like: typical cabin furniture (worn-down, though), everything is about 20-40 years old inside, including kitchen appliances, etc. Don't expect luxury, but everything works, although it gets hot in there in the middle of summer.

Why they chose this property

We love Yosemite. We wanted our kids to experience the wonder and the beauty of the wilderness.

What makes this property unique

The unique benefit of our cabin in Wawona is that it feels like home. So you can be "at home" and see the deer walk by, hear the wind whispering in the trees and the deep silence when it stops blowing. You can see a million stars in the night sky.
