Amazing place for the family to visit and enjoy the area around the Whitby and the North York. The property is very calm and quiet and the fire place gave us traditional experience.
Gorgeous tiny cottage in hamlet location tucked away from the busy coast but only 4 miles from Sandsend beach. Perfect for a couple with 2 small children as has a double and a twin and
2 bathrooms. A "home from home" as advertised with a pretty enclosed garden, open fire. Sadly spoiled by lack of communication with the owner (except for basic access instructions). Two phone calls to Sykes Cottages did not resolve this. No washer/dryer ! Essential if holidaying
with young children, and other essentials missing such as soap in basins, washing up brush or scourer, kitchen scissors
. The info pack needs updating re which bins to put out on a Tues night and where. Otherwise perfect in every way, log fire, plenty of wood, coal. BBQ equipment in shed. Enclosed garden very safe for little ones. Plenty of games but no "wealth of books" though. There was a very friendly donkey and a horse in field nearby to visit. Would definitely book again, but take everything with us that we had to go to Lidl 4 miles away and buy on arrival. Saw in visitors book that milk, biscuits and wine used to be provided on arrival...
