The house was very clean and cozy & the host was amazing. The neighborhood includes a lovely coffee shop and Greek restaurant that were excellent and just a short walk away. Great location to experience Portland without being directly in downtown.
John was very welcoming. We felt right at home the minute we walked in. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud, so comfortable. John left us snacks & packets of hot chocolate. Don’t hesitate to stay in this home.
This 2-bedroom home was perfect for our family's recent trip to PDX. It was very clean, comfortable, and well equipped. (A nice bonus was that every room had a box of tissues.) The owner was extremely helpful and communicative. We will definitely stay there again in the future.
John’s place is immaculate and was located only a few minutes drive from my daughter’s home. He provided literally anything you might need so we felt well cared for. The beds were rather tall and oh, so comfy… soft in top of supportive. Big tvs, bright kitchen. Nice neighborhood. A perfect place for our needs. Hope to book again for more grandbaby time!
John's house is everything one might want. Clean, comfortable, well stocked with all the basics for cooking. Bus stop just around the corner on Burnside takes you anywhere you want to go. Tabor Tavern is a great "local" for good comfort food and drinks. Just two of us but the other bedroom makes this a great family or two couples spot. Easy in and out. If you like the East Side, you can't go wrong.
This house was a great place to stay, had good sized rooms, and lots of closet space. It was clean and everyone was happy with the comfortable beds.
It was well supplied, even a box of Kleenex in every room. There was a nice grocery store only 4 blocks away, which was very convenient. John is a great person and host and quickly responded to any questions or needs. He graciously had provided some snacks on the dining room table and water bottles in the fridge for when we got there.
Would stay again.

Well stocked house in se Portland
I stayed at this property with my family of 5 in July. We enjoyed our stay. The house was well stocked with all we needed. The location is good. The owner was available for any question or concerns right away. My only criticisms are the bed was too soft for my liking and there was a slight mustly smell to the house. We left behind my sons favorite stuffed animal and John emailed me right away and made himself available for me to pick it up asap.
All in all a good stay for us!

I identified the musty smell you noticed as being caused by someone leaving a window open and rain getting on the drapes. I have had the drapes cleaned and the odor has been eliminated.
I have ordered a new firm mattress, so guests will have a choice. One bed will be firm and the other will have a plush pillow top.
Thanks again for staying with me.
John is a wonderful host. I had a couple of questions during our stay that he answered promptly. Just as listed, his property is very clean, comfortable, and well furnished. My elderly Mom and I stayed there for a week, and could have stayed longer.
Super comfortable beds and dual reclining love seat in the living room. Fast Wifi and house heating. The kitchen was bright, clean and well stocked with everything we needed for cooking and baking, and food storage.
There also is a kitchen table that was handy for us. We both appreciated the step-in shower with handrail. The washer and dryer were easy to use.
It's a quiet neighborhood, and Hwy 84 access was not far away. A nice supermarket is just a few walkable blocks from the house. Trader Joe's is a quick car trip away. Mt. Tabor Park is not far by foot or car. It has many trails, tennis courts and a nice playground.
Will stay here again. It was just perfect.
This was our second time staying at this property. It was as nice as the first. The house was clean, private, and spacious. John was a very attentive host and really made us feel welcome. We'd definitely stay here again.
This property was homey and comfortable. We were greeted with a goodie basket, coffee, etc. Our location was very accessible to the greater Portland and Vancouver area.

Location is good. Household supplies are sufficient. Details are attended.
I am a single gay male in my 40s. I am a non-smoker and very clean. I work a professional job. I love to travel. I love theatre. Travel to NYC and London each year to see theatre. Also enjoy travelling to Europe and Australia. As a guest, I'm friendly but quiet. I'm a homeowner and I will respect your space. As a host, I'm mostly hands off but respond quickly to requests for info or assistance.
Why they chose this property
I bought the house because it was the only place I looked at that truly felt homey and welcoming. I fell for it's charm and hope you do, too! I knew immediately it was where I wanted to live for the rest of my life!
What makes this property unique
I love the mid-century modern design. The cute cutouts in the wall. The cool doorbell chimes. The beautiful fireplace. The coved ceiling and huge picture window in the living room.
