This private apartment on the main floor (w/private entry!) has over 1,100 sq ft. Living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, dining room and 1 bathroom for your EXCLUSIVE use. Ideally located in the North Tabor neighborhood of Portland. The house has central heating and air conditioning. Short distance to downtown and extremely easy access to public transportation. Inspected and licensed by the City of Portland. I am a homeowner, not a big property management company. You will get great service and a clean home when you stay with me.
THE SPACE
Welcome to my midcentury home. Located near NE 60th Avenue and Burnside Street, this is an ideal location for your visit to beautiful Portland.
•Each bedroom has a queen size bed.
•Bed Bug Proof Mattress Encasement (under your sheets) - Prevents and protects against bed bugs, dust mites and allergens.
•Complimentary shampoo, conditioner & body wash.
•65" Flat screen HDTV in the living room. The living room has a couch that comfortably seats 3 and a love seat for 2.
•Amazon Fire Stick with access to Netflix and YouTube TV (like cable with unlimited DVR), access to other apps via your own login like Hulu. BluRay player.
•Kitchen – full size stove/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave.
•Glasses, dishes, pots, pans, silverware, etc.
•Use of washer and dryer including laundry detergent.
GUEST ACCESS
You will have exclusive access to the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms. There is a full size stackable washer and dryer in the bathroom for your use. There is only a shower. There is not a bath tub. Also, feel free to use the back yard. Your entrance will be through the front door of the house. Please do not park in the driveway other than for loading/unloading purposes as I use it to access the garage. There is free street parking for you to use during your visit.
Early Check In or Late Check Out may be possible for an additional fee subject to availability.
INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
I will most likely be onsite in the basement apartment during your stay unless I am lucky enough to be travelling. I will be available for any questions via text, email or phone.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Neighborhood is very safe, convenient, and there are cool bars and restaurants within walking distance. The Tabor Tavern is nearby and has great fish and chips and a nice selection of beers. Oly's Pizza is in easy walking distance. There is a QFC grocery store (with a Redbox DVD rental) and nail salon 3 blocks away.
HOUSE RULES
You are required to have fun and relax, but...
NO smoking indoors, ever. Outdoors is fine if you're considerate of anyone nearby and also clean up your butts and *safely* dispose of them.
NO candles or open flames.
NO pets.
NO parties or events.
NO drugs, including marijuana.
NO vaporizing.
NO incense.
Wash dishes and clean up after yourself in the kitchen.
No more than two additional visitors, without prior approval. People other than those in guest party are not permitted to stay overnight in the property.
Please remove shoes when inside.
Please close and lock the windows when you are not in the house.
SOUND travels a bit between the upstairs and downstairs. From midnight-8am, please keep the noise down.
Please use coasters.
SCENTS: Please be considerate about using perfumes and scents, since other guests would like to enjoy a relatively scent-free space (and it's hard to remove strong perfume smells from the sofa).
Guests are expected to be respectful and reasonable in relationship to our property and neighbors.
You are welcome to use my wifi. You shouldn't be uploading, downloading, or viewing anything illegally with the Internet access I provide.
Also no hate crimes. Please don't commit any hate crimes.
You assume responsibility for any and all damage in excess of normal wear and tear.
GETTING AROUND
Fantastic access to public transportation - see the Portland TriMet website. Also, I-84 is about .3 miles away. It connects to I-5 and I-205 easily.
From the Airport -
It is about $35+tip for a 15 minute cab ride from the airport to my home, $26 by Lyft or Uber or $2.80 for a 40 minute ride via MAX train to 60th, then bus 71 to Burnside and then about 2 minutes walk. Or you can walk 0.4 mile from the MAX train 60th stop to my home.
TriMet Bus and MAX Light Rail (train) Access
One 2.5 hour fare is $2.80 or $5.60 for an all day pass. Half price for senior/youth. If you download the Trimet Hop app, you can purchase tickets through the app and show your phone to the driver. Beats looking for exact change!
The Route 20 bus stop is just 1 block away, easily taking you into the downtown area in about 20 minutes.
The Route 71 bus stop is just 1 block away, if you want to ride to the 60th Ave MAX Station or take the bus to Clackamas Town Center.
The NE 60th Ave MAX Station
Located .4 mile from my home. It serves the Red, Blue and Green lines providing easy access to almost anywhere in Portland.
You can also use Uber or Lyft (these are ride sharing services - they are the equivalent of a taxi) to inexpensively get around Portland. You will need to download the apps to your cell phone to use them. Let me know if you want to use these and I can send you a link for free credits if you are a new user.
By Car
If you have a car, it is really easy to get from my place to most of Portland. Downtown is about 10 minutes. Lloyd Center is 10 minutes. Airport is 10-12 minutes. There is free ample street parking at my location.
Bikes
Portland is the most bike friendly city in the country! Portland has great bike and scenic routes across all areas of the city. Biking the waterfront and our bridges are a great way to see the local scene. Bike rental companies below:

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
This is my home. I use the main floor when there are no guests. While you are staying with me, I will be in the basement apartment. It has it's own entrance, so you don't need to worry about me going through while you are staying with me. You will not have access to my office on the main floor. The door to the office on the main floor will remain closed and locked during your stay.

About the host
Hosted by John Keheley

I am a single gay male in my 40s. I am a non-smoker and very clean. I work a professional job. I love to travel. I love theatre. Travel to NYC and London each year to see theatre. Also enjoy travelling to Europe and Australia. As a guest, I'm friendly but quiet. I'm a homeowner and I will respect your space. As a host, I'm mostly hands off but respond quickly to requests for info or assistance.
Why they chose this property
I bought the house because it was the only place I looked at that truly felt homey and welcoming. I fell for it's charm and hope you do, too! I knew immediately it was where I wanted to live for the rest of my life!
What makes this property unique
I love the mid-century modern design. The cute cutouts in the wall. The cool doorbell chimes. The beautiful fireplace. The coved ceiling and huge picture window in the living room.
