This property was excellent all around! The location is amazing and quiet but close to all amenities. Chuck is kind and welcoming. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.
The only reason for the 3 star on accuracy of listing is I didn’t ever see we only had the lower level of the house. That being said it was perfect for us and the purpose of our trip!It was clean and quiet! Would definitely stay here again.
Couldn't have been happier with our stay. It's such a beautiful place, super convenient to everything we wanted to do.
Chuck and Christine are just wonderful. Go stay there if you get a chance.
The property was accurately described, it was beautiful inside and out, very peaceful and quiet, you only heard birds chirping. It is important to state we stayed during the the 85th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, but were not affiliated or patrons of the rally or the loud noise that accompanies the roar of motorcycles. We never heard any motorcycles at any time while on or in the property.
This property is a great location. I wish it would have been disclosed that the owners lived above the property. But, the owners were very nice and didn’t bother us. I would stay here again.
We had a great couple days in the Custer area - and staying here was exactly what we needed. The property is close to the State Park and Mt Rushmore, and off the beaten path from all the touristy stuff. Christine was great with some recommendations for eating (who's doing take out?) and was quick to fix a minor issue. Great property!!
We loved our stay at this cabin home just south of Custer. Clean, comfortable, well-equipped for the perfect vacation. Relaxing mornings on the patio watching deer & birds; fun evenings playing yard games, grilling, chatting around the firepit. Excellent location close to all Southern Black Hills attractions. We had beautiful weather every day but there were games, puzzles, books, plus 3 TV's for indoor activities. Wish we could have stayed longer & would certainly consider staying again.
Excellent location to everything! Quiet, peaceful, great property! House is very nice! Bonus - really nice bathroom and laundry room! Home base for: Custer State Park, Needles Hwy, Iron Mt. Rs. Wildlife loop, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument. Little drive to Deadwood and Spearfish Canyon Byway. We did the Badlands on our way home!
Wonderful property, conveniently located near Custer. Has a ton of space both inside and out. The large outdoors was really appreciated by our Golden Retriever. Also had some nice added touches with the Welcome Package
BEAUTIFUL property just outside of charming Custer City! So close to the Black Hills and all the best attractions. Chuck and Christine are wonderful hosts. We stayed with our dog for three nights and enjoyed every minute. We would definitely go back for a visit there!
This is our second time staying at this property and we absolutely love it! The location is central to all of the sites in the southern Black Hills. The kids and our dog loved having the big yard for playing games. Check in and check out were a breeze. Already planning our next visit!

The property was amazing! It was so clean and perfect location for all our Black Hills adventures! It was super quiet and we put the fire pit to good use! We also used the grill and cooked all our meals in the kitchen as well which was nicely stocked with plates, utensils, pots, pans, etc. It was just the perfect setup! Also it was so nice it was pet friendly as my 22 year old dog was able to roam and wander the property and then warm his old bones by the fireplace. Also the laundry room was awesome and we did laundry multiple times from our adventures! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great place to stay!
This location was centralized for seeing Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, the scenic roadways of Iron Mountain and needles Highway, Custer State Park was close which has a lot of activities. We had deer and wild turkeys visit the property during our week. Everything we needed was available at this property.
We were unaware that the host lived upstairs, but they were both gone and it was a great stay
