Crantock cottage is in the heart of the quintessentially Cornish village of Crantock, and is just a 5-10 minute walk via a footpath down to the beach, making it an ideal base for family beach holidays. In addition there are many local attractions and activities nearby in Newquay and Truro
Crantock is lovely picturesque village with many amenities including convenience shop, post office, tea rooms and a 400 year old thatched village pub which serves good quality food. Outside the heart of the village there is also a beach cafe and a cliff top restaurant and bistro looking out over the sea.
The main reason people consider Crantock to be one of the most desirable places to visit is its large sandy bay, (perfect for paddling, swimming and surfing) and the protected National Trust headlands and Gannel Estuary which provides a haven for wildlife and birds.
Nearby is the secluded beach of Polly Joke, without a carpark and only accessed via a footpath - it is perfect for relaxing far away from it all.
The nearest town is Newquay, which is a vibrant fishing town which can be accessed by foot and ferry or by road from Crantock. Newquay has a wide range of family activities (zoo, aquarium, cinema etc) souvenir shops and excellent night life. Newquay boasts 4 large beaches, which offer a variety of water based activities including, surfing lessons, coasteering, paddle boarding and fishing trips.
Crantock is also a great base for visiting the cathedral town of Truro (13 miles away), which has excellent shopping, museums and restaurants. A little further is the harbour town of Falmouth (23 miles away), with a fantastic maritime museum and plenty of opportunities for windsurfing, kayaking and sailing.
Other local attractions include the world famous Eden Project (Botanical Gardens) (21 miles away) and The Lost Gardens of Helligan and other national trust houses and gardens. Similarly children will have plenty to do with many local activity centres and theme parks.
Access and parking: Crantock is easily accessible by road and is only 5 miles away from Cornwall's main access road (A30). The property has off road parking for 3 cars.
Newquay train station and airport is only 5 miles from the property.

Hi Julian, Glad you all enjoyed your stay and had a good Christmas at Crantock Cottage. Thank you for leaving a review for us. Hopefully see you again soon. Best Wishes Vicky and Ian
My family and I enjoyed a wonderful week at Crantock Cottage, made extra-special by being able to include our 11-month-old Grandson on his first seaside holiday. Everything was clean and tidy and well-equipped for us all. The sea views and walks were amazing, with good local amenities. Our hosts were very helpful and informative and we would definitely like to book again in the future. Many thanks Vicky and Ian.

Fantastic house with amazing sea views
The location was perfect for our family, the village and beach were all within a short walk, making for a really easy stress free family holiday. The area is simply beautiful. The house was well equipped and clean and very relaxing. Will stay again.
Crantock Cottage was perfect for our family vacation, grandparents, parents and three children. It has lots of space and all bedrooms had ensuite. Nice garden for kids to play in and lovely views. Thoroughly recommend.
Spacious, well equipped cottage with beautiful views
The cottage was more than we had expected. Brilliantly equipped kitchen, coupled with toys, games and books to keep all ages entertained. The garden was brilliant for the children when we were not at the beach, out walking or exploring. The guide prepared by the owners was a great starting point with some useful tips. A box of tea bags, a packet of biscuits, box of fudge and a pint of milk was the perfect touch after a long drive down to Cornwall. We had a really lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay...the daily handful of blackberries picked by the children from the garden to top their holiday pancake breakfasts was one of the highlights.

Great Holiday
Group of 4 couples stayed here in early September for a week. Lovely cottage plenty of space for us to spread out. The views from the rear of the property were fantastic. Kitchen was great (we love to cook), large hob and oven plenty of fridge freezer and storage spaceOnly minus points, 4 en suite bathrooms was good but the hot water pressure not brilliant if more than one being used at a time. Two of the bedrooms have no wardrobe space just hanging hooks on the door. You will also need to bring your own coat hangers! The owner Vicky was great very approachable and answered any emails etc.quickly. would highly recommend!

Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review for us. We are so glad you enjoyed the property. I am very sorry there weren't any coathangers at the property, there are normally lots, we will get these replenished asap, thank you for letting us know. Thank you for being great guests we hope we will be able to welcome you back soon. With all Best Wishes

So glad we booked Crantock Cottage. The house was very clean and well equipped. If you are cooking the oven is wonderful and brand new!The bedrooms all have en-suites, two bedrooms are huge with King beds which were comfortable and had good quality bedding. We ate on the deck outside mostly as we had good weather. The conservatory was nice to sit and read when it was chilly. There’s lots of space. We had our dog with us, she loved the garden which was enclosed, good size with lovely plants and lawn. The house itself is a little dated but that added to the charm. There are good walks to beaches from the house, no need to take the car. Great if you surf as Crantock Beach is a short walk away. There’s a couple of pubs in the village and some beach cafes nearby. The best thing about the house was the fabulous view of the sea from the bedrooms large windows also from the deck and downstairs. The sunsets were just lovely. Stay here if only just for that
Excellent communication with this property, Vicky was quick and check really easy. Good driving instructions too!.
We stayed as a family with children in 20’s and parents 60’s. Great location, amazing having en-suites in every room. Hidden gem with rattan sofa at the bottom of the garden was perfect. Beautiful sunsets that you can see from outside or in the conservatory ( where we spent a lot of the time). Thanks again Vicky, would definitely stay again.
Fabulous property, nice size and great location for exploring. Owners very attentive and happy to rectify any issues, not that we had any!!

Crantock Cottage experience
Arriving Friday 4th February 2022. From outside it is inviting. On looking around first was the dirty kitchen bin. Then rusty old looking toaster. Landing carpet covered in white bits from loft above. Blue over blanket in main bedroom soiled with what looked like grease stains. Family bathroom radiator not clean appeared like rusty marks which did come off with CIF cleanser. Bath panel does not move offering little space to manoeuvre. Photos taken. Vicky the host did apologise and a new toaster arrived on Monday evening. We therefore felt the cottage had not been deep cleaned and also to a Covid standard. We have been highly disappointed and so needed this break and only rescued by the beautiful area and polite texts from the host - Annette and Henry

Dear Annette and Henry,
We are very sorry to read that you were disappointed, although surprised to read this following our communication during your stay.
Thank you for highlighting that the toaster had some rust marks on it, we were very pleased to be informed and glad the new toaster arrived with you the next day. Thank you too for informing us that the kitchen bin had been missed by the cleaning team, we contacted the cleaning team immediately and asked them to double check that the bin is not missed in the future.
As discussed in our communication, we are sorry that a tradesman popped in to take a look in the loft during the changeover period just prior to your arrival, we did not realise that his fleeting visit had dislodged a few white bits from the loft hatch. We apologise that these were on the carpet when you arrived.
With reagrds to the family bathroom, We are sorry that the towel rail had become a little rusty (the Cornish sea air unfortunately does this, being so close to the sea) and we have been waiting for a plumber (who are all in very high demand in the winter months in Cornwall) to change it. We are very pleased to say that the plumber has now been out and replaced it with a brand new towel rail, apologies that we could not get a plumber in ahead of your stay.
I am not sure quite what the issue was with the bath panel not moving, as it is a standard bath, but please do feel free to email me directly if this is something we can address, as we are always grateful for suggestions of ways to improve our guests stay.
Thank you for your helpful comments, we are pleased that we have been able to address and rectify these items already.
Best Wishes Vicky and Ian
We have had a wonderful family holiday in this
spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped & comfortable 'home from home' accommodation.
With sea views it is in a great location ideal for walking the coast path, local beaches & exploring Cornwall by car. We would all highly recommend.
Crantock cottage has wonderful views of the sea and sky, easy walking to the one Crantock shop and two pubs. The garden is tropical! Very well maintained and great for outdoor eating. Lovely walks to Crantock beach or Polly Joke. A great week.
We stayed here for a week in July 2021. There were a mix of ages and the property was big enough for the 6 of us to live comfortably together for a week. There was enough space for us not to be tripping over each other.
The facilities are fabulous and the property had everything we need. The location was in a good spot for local amenities and also to do a bit of travelling around Cornwall. We would definitely recommend the cottage as well as use it again if we were in the area.
A+
This was easily one of the best equipped holiday homes we have ever stayed in. The house itself was lovely with many spacious rooms and conservatory, amazing views down to the Crantock coast, comfortable bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. Our young grandchildren loved it. Plus our course it had a perfect location within easy walking distance of Crantock village and beach.
Thank you Vicky, Great communication from the start. We had a wonderful family holiday in Crantock Cottage, four of us in our 50's & two parents in their 80's, the pictures do not really do justice to this fantastic Holiday Home, There maybe a few areas where a little updating wouldn't hurt, but the general charm, size & beautiful views far out way any of these. Hope to return again soon

Hi Pam,
Thanks very much for taking the time to provide feedback.
We are so pleased you found the property location, size and views to all be enjoyable.
We are sorry you felt the inside of the property needs updating, we are continually refurbishing and redecorating the property each winter, and will of course being continuing with further works again this winter, as we do aim to keep the property continually updated and to a high standard.
We are also sorry you found there to be not enough storage in the smaller bedroom, unfortunately space doesn't allow for anything more than we have, but we hope that with the vast amount of storage in the other bedrooms and a cupboard at the top of the stairs for cases etc, that this helps alleviate this.
Thank you again for your very helpful feedback, Best Wishes, Vicky and Ian.
Lovely layout maximising the view . Really enjoyed the garden most afternoons & evenings. Really clean & soundproofing is great in the bedrooms which was brilliant as we were sharing with a baby & toddler. Short walk to the dunes. Loved the welcome pack too.
We had a great time in Crantock cottage! The cottage is equipped with everything you need, and as we were staying near Christmas it was a nice touch to arrive and find a beautifully decorated Christmas tree too :) Crantock has a lovely small village feel, but is also very close to many other amenities and good links to explore other parts of Cornwall. Also there is a lovely sandy beach and some great coastal walks right on the doorstep. I would also recommend visiting Trevilley Farm store, only a couple miles away, for some good local produce.
Thanks Vicky for a great holiday, and for making the booking and checking in process so easy!

Fantastic house, great location and stunning views of Crantock beach and the surrounding valley.
We has a wonderful time during our 4 night stay.
The house is located very close to Newquay so supplies can be sought with ease. The A30 is also only a few miles away for links to the whole of Cornwall. A great base to go out and explore!
Every room is en-suite and bed rooms are spacious. There is ample room downstairs even for eight people to spread out! Kitchen is well kitted out with a big range master for meals in.
The owners are very friendly and happy to help. A welcome pack is very detailed with thinks to do in the surrounding area.
All in all a great experience and our family intends on returning in the future, which shows our delight with the holiday home!
We had another great holiday at Crantock Cottage ,hope to be back again soon ,great location with lovely village pub and great fish and chips in next village .Great views and lovely quiet location .
