Stunning North Cornwall Beach House, direct beach access, surfing, amazing view
2025 School holiday availability:
**Good Friday week still available
**20-26th July 6 nights, Sunday to Saturday
**30th August week
**October half term
Beachside View Pentire is a unique gem in a perfect, quiet and breathtaking waterside location.
There is genuinely something to do for all ages and it is the perfect holiday house for a multi-generation vacation and special occasions. Stunning views that change with the tide and a south-facing back garden with direct access to an English sandy estuary beach. With Fistral surf beach only 200m from the front door you may not use your car all holiday!
Build sandcastles, play in rockpools, surf, SUP, kite surf or open water swim, play cricket on the vast expanse of sand or walk across to Crantock, a National Trust Beach. Paddleboard or kayak from our beach or float down on your surf board to Crantock. If you want one of the UK's best surfing beaches, walk 200 metres from the front door and you will be at the south (quieter) end of Fistral Beach, complete with surf schools, beach and surf clothing shops, cafes, bars and restaurants (The Fish House, Rick Stein's, The Stable).
The contemporary house has a real 'wow' as you walk in and immediately catch glimpses of the turquoise water beyond. The large living space with beautiful oak floor faces south so is flooded with light and offers views of the water below. Every comfort and convenience has been considered and both the superbly equipped modern kitchen and 5 en-suite bathrooms are a pleasure to use. Beds are sumptuous, bedlinen beautiful and towels soft. With Vispring and top end John Lewis mattresses, your back will enjoy the holiday too.
Take in the wonderful view from the house, surf and bodyboard, explore rock pools, go on coastal walks from the door all year round, visit Cornwall's gardens in Spring, batten down with a log fire in the winter or enjoy Christmas Markets in Fowey, Truro, Falmouth and Padstow. Maybe just laze on the beach in an English Summer. This is a very special holiday house in a quiet and sought after area for family and larger group holidays, or 2-6 people who like their space. However, the option of Newquay's facilities of cinema, indoor and outdoor tennis, boating lake, gyms, aquarium and zoo are only a mile away should you want them.
The house has a large raised terrace with a stunning view of the water, for al fresco dining. Underneath, there is the large garden bedroom with superking size bed, seating area and large windows towards the water (see main photo). There are 4 further bedrooms, all ensuite. Next to the garden bedroom is a small games room with darts, air hockey and small pool table plus TV with beanbag seating suitable for younger people who need their space but you want on-site. These 2 rooms are accessed via the outside balcony steps offering one couple more seclusion or grandparents some quiet from their early rising grandchildren!
There is a further large terrace with sofa style seating further down the sloping garden, ensuring there are several separate places to sit and read or admire the view if you like your own space for a while.
Short breaks are available out of the main season and school holidays although prices quoted via the VRBO site automated quote are not always correct because it has limited variables. Please therefore contact the owner with an enquiry. VRBO may include the refundable damage deposit as part of the quote so check the break down to see the actual rental price. Remember, March, April and September, October can be great months in Cornwall - beaches to yourself, t-shirt weather and good surf ! Winter brings bracing beach walks away from the crowds, reading by the log burner watching the tide rise and fall, cosy pub meals and Christmas artisan fairs and food markets. There is good wi-fi in the house if you want to wfh with a lovely view! There is nothing not to like!

About the host
Hosted by Catherine Foster

We are a family of 5 with teenage children when we bought the house, 2 dogs and a large extended family with young nieces and nephews age 1 to 12. We therefore wanted to find a house in an area where there was something to do for all ages and it took a couple of years looking and many rejections before we bought Beachside View.
We are busy professionals and our holiday time is precious. When we go away, we want to stay somewhere that feels special, with exacting standards and attention to detail. Hence, Beachside View is finished to that standard. We love being able to walk everywhere (beaches, surfing, restaurants, to buy lobsters or ice creams....) and not sit in queues for beach carparks etc. We take very seriously, the responsibility that you have chosen to use our house for your much planned holiday and ensure you will not be disappointed.

Why they chose this property
The ever changing, unobstructed view of the beach from the garden patio and sitting room sold this house to us! It is something of which we will never tire and when we are older and less active, will just sit and look at it.
The house isn't bad either! Every bedroom having its' own ensuite bathroom is really useful and enough space that you can find a place, inside or out, on your own for a while with a book.
To have a sandy beach at the bottom of the garden and surfing at Fistral 200M from the front door, is to us, the ultimate British beach holiday. We knew of Newquay and National Trust Crantock before looking at the house but not Pentire which is a small peninsula between the 2. Thank goodness we found it !
Pentire is a hidden gem, with an extensive clifftop heathland, stunning walks and views and a residential area. There is something to do in the area for every member of our family, whatever the weather and the children do not need to be driven. Nobody is ever bored.
We enjoy having a whole host of different eateries and excellent restaurants to be able to walk to, most of them dog friendly. If we don't want to walk home, 123 Taxis charge us a very reasonable +/-£7 from anywhere in the area.
Newquay is a mile away if we want it for surf shops, supermarkets, the cinema or station but with food deliveries we can spend a week at the house without going in to it

What makes this property unique
Adjacent estuary beach accessed from the back garden, world class surfing beach 200m from the front door, a stunning water view that is forever changing with the tide and a stunning and luxuriously furnished house in which to stay with all 5 bedrooms ensuite. The kitchen is well stocked and with good quality pans etc.
We love being able to do so many diverse things without having to get in the car. This means older children can go off independently rather than always needing a lift. Having the water at the bottom of the garden (but the garden is totally fenced) is great and because it is effectively a tidal inlet (although called The River Gannel) there are not dangerous waves raging there. Meanwhile we can walk 2 minutes to Fistral which removes the hassle of trying to find a parking space. It's quicker to go and look at the surf than dial up the beach web camera.
2 or 3 families staying together can easily do their own thing on foot from the house and then meet up back at the house. If you get to the beach and have forgotten something it isn't a big deal to walk back for it. The house and garden has enough space that you can find a corner on your own for a bit if you want.
We love arriving and stretching our legs with a walk round the beautiful Pentire headland to the contemporary Lewinnick bar and restaurant.
From April-September, evenings are spent with a glass of wine on the patio watching the sunset over the water and listening to the sea. Or, in winter sitting cosily round the wood burner (although the house is too well insulated to actually need it!)
The only troublesome thing about coming here is that you don't want to leave.
