The house is beautifully situated above the village. You have a great view of the beach. We felt very comfortable in the house. We have rarely vacationed in such a well-equipped and beautifully furnished house.
Property is accurately described in the listing. House is very spacious! Bed was very comfortable. Nice quiet neighborhood. Beautiful beach view! We enjoyed our stay.
Lovely house with fantastic views. Really well equipped and spacious. Very close to the beach, perfect place for a Cornish break!
Our only slight gripe would be the parking, it was a little tricky reversing down off the slope.
Spacious family house ideal for large family gatherings
A Christmas venue for family get together. Host gave us access as soon as it was ready and any minor issues caused by previous tenants were resolved satisfactorily. As long as you are fit, the climb up the steps is totally worth it for the amazing views from the decking and garden. The 3 en suites plus a family bathroom are a real bonus for large family get togethers.
We had an amazing weekend at this property, it’s a really comfortable house with all you need. We were two families with kids aged between 5-10 and we all had a blast! The beds are super comfortable, seating areas are great with ample space for relaxing and enjoying the stunning views. We were blessed with amazing April weather and it was such a treat to wake up to the sound of the waves and watch the sun rise above Porthtowan. Local cafe and bars are lovely too and bonus playground within watching distance. We have already booked to return- highly recommend!
A well equipped house with plenty of room for all to enjoy. Rooms are all comfortable and there are plenty of toilets and showers. The house was warm and the owners provided everything needed. The views are gorgeous and it literally is a two minute walk to the lovely beach and coastal walks. The Unicorn Pub does good food and is a 1 minute walk. There are a lot of steps up to reach the property!! We loved our stay at Beach House.
Lovely house with amazing views of Porthtowan beach. Stayed with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday, had an amazing time. Large take and sofa to accommodate a large group. Would be amazing in the summer.
Slight issue when we arrived due to a leak from a upstairs bathroom into downstairs bedroom. Message Mark on WhatsApp and he replied quickly. Plumber arrived same day and fixed the issue. Please note parking is a very steep ramp and we struggled to get our cars up the ramp
Overall a lovely stay, would go back again

Lovely property, a few niggles
The property is spacious and well positioned for the beach. Difficult to park a car on their driveway so had to park elsewhere. The BBQ and oven were not clean. Leak in shower room and one shower not working but fixed whilst we were there. The property is lovely and the host personable. With the charges for cleaning i would expect it to be spotless. Check in time too late at 5pm and check out 9.30am too early should be at the very least 10am and 4pm. Especially with all the steps to get everything up and down. Even with these niggles it was a lovely holiday in a beautiful property.
Great property, good kitchen facilities, great location near the beach, but the uneven access caused more issues than expected; one of our party fell on loose decking and broke their glasses.
This house is in a stunning location with amazing sea views. It was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed for our weeks holiday. We had adults, an infant and dogs too. It felt spacious enough that we all had our own spaces and the fact there were 4 bathrooms was amazing. The steps upto the house are difficult but so worth it.
My daughter and myself had a wonderful time. The property is fantastic.Steps were a challenge, I was worried because I am 70 years old, but managed them ok.
Great holiday house and close to beach. We appreciated the improvements that have been made to the property since our last visit but we missed the large bbq which has been replaced with a small one not big enough when cooking for ten guests .
The house was great for a group of 8. it has good rooms and was clean. For our group it was big enough and it has all what is needed. It was a lovely time in Porthtowan and the house is located perfectly.
Excellent but details are right about the steps. Would not suit anyone with mobility/medical problems. View fantastic as were locals except for abusive neighbour as we were trying to load our car this morning. Can’t possibly repeat her language but people renovating next door helpful. Nervous car Parker's beware of steep drive
A fantastic weekend away with family to celebrate a 40th birthday! We all enjoyed the house especially the views and location. Overall, an excellent stay. Thank you!
Lovely property with great views, comfortable and well equipped. We've stayed in the village several times but this was our first time in this house, I'm sure it won't be the last.Lots of steps up to the property, might be a problem for older and less physically fit people, but weren't a problem for us. The views are worth it! We found the steep driveway a bit of a problem but found parking elsewhere
We had a few minor problems on arrival, which are charming host sorted quickly. The house and location are stunning. It is close to the beach, various eateries and a Post Office/ local store. The steps up to the house were challenging, but worth the effort. All the rooms were clean, well equipped and comfortable. And it was wonderfully quiet at night. We hope to return.
Lovely house, beautiful views, lots of space very comfortable beds, huge comfortable settee, the views were amazing local bar & restaurant near by6 ladies away had a lovely relaxing tine away & made sure everything was tidy & clean when leavibgThank you MarkKind regardsKaren mitchell
The property and location were great. The car parking was was not ideal but we knew that clearly beforehand. The thing that was not mentioned beforehand was all the steps and was a hassle taking pushchairs and prams and even the luggage up and down. Overall it was worth the hassles !
The property was extremely clean and well-stocked. It's a beautiful home with a beautiful view of the beach. We really enjoyed our time there. The driveway is a killer and there are several steps to the entrance, but the climb is so worth it! Thanks for a great few days in Porthtowan!

About the host
Hosted by Mark
We are a family with Cornish roots who love Porthtowan. We bought the Beach Cottage for the stunning views over the beach and coastline beyond. We furnished the house to a high standard with 1 to 2 families in mind, so you can have a relaxing holiday in Cornwall.
Why they chose this property
The North Cornwall Coast is simply stunning, crossing the River Tamar from England lifts the spirit and you know you are in a special place. Porthtowan is a hidden gem of a beach, though its place in the development of surfing in the UK has increased its popularity. With over a mile of sand you will always have plenty of space even in highest summer.
We dreamed of a home with a sea view and Beach House has just that. No driving to the car park, just walk down and back at your leisure. Of course Cornwall has many other attractions and Porthtowan is centrally located for most of them.
