The cottage was fantastic, me and my girlfriend both absolutely loved it and would highly recommend anyone looking for a cosy getaway in the countryside to stay here. There are lots of great places to visit in the nearby area with the cottage itself being nice and tucked out of the way. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to book another holiday here!
The cottage was just as pictured in a lovely location not far from Haddon Hall, Matlock and Buxton. Andrew ideal place to stay and explore the Peak District.
Lovely cottage, ideally placed to explore the area! Great value, would highly recommend!

Thank you, Victor, for the wonderful review and recommendation (and I apologise for the late reply). I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Best regards, Robin.
The property was very comfortable and clean and my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found its location within a lovely historic village extremely convenient for nearby tourist attractions such as Chatsworth and Tissington Village. We would happily return for a longer stay.

What a lovely review! Thank you, Sue. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay and the area, and you're most welcome back. Best regards, Robin.
Property/parking as described. Pretty cool on arrival, but having found the c.heating controls, soon warmed up. Generally, the property looked a little 'worn' with outside woodwork peeling, and the inside in need of freshening up. Otherwise comfortable and convenient.

Thanks for your review, Lynn. Sorry you didn't entirely enjoy your stay. We don't have the heating on 24/7 for obvious reasons but we have in fact been decorating in the past couple of weeks. Regards, Robin.
A very rustic cottage set in a narrow lane. The village is beautiful and the location allows for nice walks. Matlock and Matlock Bath are not very far away.

Attention to detail was 2nd to none! Robon has thought of everything to facilitate our stay. Bed was incredibly comfortable, good quality linens/ towels Immaculately clean and tidy and fascinating leftovers from a bygone age with hooks in beams and the old fireplace just oozed history. Tastefully decorated and just wonderful! Great and pretty location with easy access to a variety of locations. Thankyou Robin, we will visit again!!
Great find. Was a very comfortable stay with spacious rooms. Parking for one car outside the property and had to find another space on the high street for the other vehicle. Easy location to find in a quiet spot. Would definitely use this place again

Thank you, Debra, for the lovely review, and for leaving the cottage clean and tidy. You're most welcome back anytime. Best regards, Robin.
Great base for a weekend trek in the peak district
The cottage has a lot of character and is exactly as described with an adequate parking space immediately outside. Our welcome was good, the host Robin called round to introduce us to the cottage and the milk and basic grocers were a nice touch. The kitchen had everything you could ask for and the beds were so comfortable it made getting up to walk difficult!. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back to explore further.

Thank you, Laraine. What a lovely review and I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thank you also for leaving the cottage nice and clean. You are most welcome back any time. Regards, Robin.
Bedrooms were a generous size and the whole cottage was well equipped. The bathroom was downstairs which is less than ideal . Parking was directly outside the property. Robin was very prompt in responding to messages . It was well situated for Bakewell, and very quiet at night.
This was a return visit, having stayed here for a weekend last year. We enjoyed it just as much. The cottage is very comfortable and cosy. The facilities at the cottage are more than adequate and it is clean and tidy. It is tucked away off the main road through Winster and you can park immediately outside the cottage. We would definitely stay again and there are plenty of places to visit in the area.

Very relaxing
We really enjoyed our stay in Clover Cottage the property is perfect for 3. There are numerous walks starting in Winster so right on the doorstep. I enjoy running and there is plenty of places to run so long as you enjoy hills!! The local shop is at the end of the street and is well stocked particularly for breakfast. We walked to Stanton in the Peak one day and had a lovely lunch in the Flying Childers. There are numerous restaurants in Matlock and you are also within easy reach of Haddon Hall and Chatsworth. The cottage is clean and really warm nice to come back to after a days walking. Glady recommend it

About the host
Hosted by Robin
I am a self-employed businessman living in the Derbyshire Dales, Peak District. Originally from Chesterfield our family moved down the road to Matlock in the '90s and having worked overseas for 11 years in Southeast Asia and the Middle East I returned back to Derbyshire in 2010 and settled in Winster.
I've enjoyed many sports and activities including rugby and triathlon, have set up rugby teams in Southeast Asia, cycled the Himalayas (Lhasa-Kathmandu) and parts of Thailand and Eastern Europe, completed long-ish distance swims, and I'm an Ironman triathlete.
I have organised our annual village Hill Race (part of our annual week long Winster Wakes carnival in June/July) for the past six years, and am a volunteer snow warden when the weather turns chilly (thankfully sometimes unemployed in that role).
Why they chose this property
Derbyshire and the Peak District are beautiful. Step outside your front door and you're right in the countryside. There is so much to see and do as well. From great walks to running, biking, leisure activities, eating and drinking, museums, parks and family entertainment, and a real sense of community.
What makes this property unique
Clover Cottage is in the quintessential Derbyshire lead mining village of Winster. Both the village and cottage date back hundreds of years and have real character and charm. There is a real sense of community and the village shop is a focal point. The cottage has all the amenities you'd expect including fully equipped kitchen, TV, DVD, local maps and guides, central heating, and decent sized double and single bedrooms.
