Lodging at it's best! Stay in an upscale Suite in the heart of Jim Thorpe.  Van Pelt's Suite on Opera Square is directly across the street from the Mauch Chunk Opera House on Opera House Square! This suite has just been created and feels like you're staying in Soho, NYC. pillow top mattress, kitchen with all amenities, new reclining sofa, new smart TV and even a washer/dryer. Artwork by Joel LeBow hangs on the walls creating a beautifully relaxing atmosphere.

The house was originally owned by Lehigh Valley Navigation, then sold and the first floor was a barber shop. We did have a store also but decided to give this lovely space to guests traveling to Jim Thorpe to enjoy.

We are originally from NJ but my husband's grandparents lived in Coaldale, PA which is about 20 minutes from Jim Thorpe. When we were going to retire we decided to look around this area and found this magnificent town of Jim Thorpe. We love the history, the architecture and the fact that there is so much to do in this small town. When we bought our house we originally had an Antique Shop on the first floor of our 3 story home. Last year we decided to close the shop and created a luxury suite in the space. My husband, Steve, did all the work and I must applaud him for the gorgeous space he created!

Why they chose this property

This is one of the best locations in town. Galleries, Opera House, shops, restaurants, and all activities are right outside the door. We offer discounted tickets for shows at the Opera House and other stay packages. The suite is for 2 people only and is open all year.

What makes this property unique

You will also love this location since it is steps away from everything you need or want in town. The bonus is that the Mauch Chunk Opera House is directly across the street.
Also included in your stay is coffee pods, water etc.
