About this property
True private lakefront! Booking 2026 now. AC, kayaks, fishing. Pontoon optional…
Wake up to the beautiful sunrise in Seneca Falls on Cayuga Lake, sip coffee on the wraparound deck. New dock (2025). New added roof and furniture on private back deck for your enjoyment .... or relax out on the dock where the lake and all it offers is steps away from the house - no street between you and the lake. Very private compared to other nearby rentals. We have off-road parking on site since we own two water level side-by-side properties (that's often not the case with lakefront properties in this area ... that's why we make sure to show the roadside pictures of our property. There is a new Ordinance in Seneca Falls concerning properties, so beware of a booking with only roadside parking).
Generous 57' of lakefront. Dock on-site (mid-May to October). Blue herons like to fish there at dawn and dusk - and a pair of ospreys can be observed diving for fish right around the dinner hour.
Boating (bring yours or rent ours at Boatsetter.com), restaurants, wine trails, the Del Lago casino and events center, and other attractions await your family. If you have a boat / jetski, bring it along - we have access to 3 docks. Swim ladder and a lakemat in water to enhance your lakeside experience .... There is a nice swimming beach and new playground at the nearby State Park as well. Boaters can enjoy the nearby sandbar and Hibiscus Harbor.
Three sit-in kayaks and one Old Town canoe for your use on site at no charge. (May - October) Besides the pontoon, large float and fishing kayak for rent. Extra docks and parking available - please consult with owner ahead of time. There is a sandbar close by where boats like to gather. Life jackets are also supplied. Firepit by the water with wood (one bundle) with more available close by to purchase, or bring your own! Gas grill with propane on side deck.
Cottage is bright and comfortable with amenities and panoramic views. Newer stove and dishwasher. Newly painted kitchen and flooring. Central air, and new additional upstairs individual bedroom units for sleeping and personal preference.
The house is clean and - but not so fancy that guests can't just enjoy themselves and the outdoors. Living room and kitchen area in front of the house are spacious and great for relaxing and entertaining. Kitchen table for dining. WiFi/full cable channels with Spectrum is available throughout the house, up and down on 3 bedroom tv’s and living room tv’s. Cellphone service is very good on land and on water.
1st floor back bedroom / familyroom (with lake and deck right outside door) is a large space with a new queen mattress with topper, a full sleeper sofa, a sitting area and Ikea furniture (bolted to the wall).
Upstairs is newly remodeled and carpeted (2024) and has a queen bedroom set in one room. A twin bed, a daybed, and a set of bunk beds in second upstairs bedroom. . Newer half-bath upstairs.
Over 5 guests can easily sleep both up and down with capacity for more. (extra-charge of $65/night will show in quote over 5 guests). Please note: Children over a year old are counted in the guest total when booking.
Large full bath with tub and shower on the first floor, with stacking laundry.
Lots of quiet space for relaxing, playing games, and listening to the waves lap up onto the shore as the moonlight glows over the lake. Great cross breezes, and ceiling fans if preferred over the central A/C. Each floor has ceiling fans in every room (except baths).
The Blue Heron has driveway parking for 3-4 vehicles. Please ask ahead about additional parking which can be arranged on site, including boat trailer parking. Lakeside restaurant and outdoor boat bar (Wolffy's) is just a few-minute walk for your convenience. Golf course, playgrounds all nearby. Great lakeside road for biking and walking
Of course, the Finger Lakes offer wine trails all around, including within a few miles. Guests can arrange their own wine tours online.
for pickup from the cottage! (Please search online for Cayuga/Seneca Wine trails since availability changes each season). Great shopping at the Fingerlakes outlet mall, and the Del Lago casino event center is 7 miles north. New smaller casino also nearby. Lots of sightseeing in the area, including Taughannock Falls. Destinations such as Ithaca, Geneva, Skaneateles, Canandaigua, and Rochester are all in the area. Montezuma wildlife refuge, Corning Glass Museum, Watkins Glen and Niagara Falls are some of the attractions that can be enjoyed in a day.
Check back for the occasional cancellation if the dates you prefer are already booked. The season fills up quickly.

About the host

We've lived and boated on Cayuga for 13 years now. We jumped at the chance to offer this cottage to others so that they can experience the joy of living on the water, as we do, while being able to enjoy all of the everyday activities that the Finger Lakes have to offer.
We started out renting a cottage years ago, made good friends from the experience, and then looked for a place for ourselves. We now love having our own place at the lake, and when this cottage came up and we knew how much potential it had, we decided to purchase. Our rentals have gone extremely well and we've truly enjoyed the experience. We are now also renting a pontoon located on Cayuga Lake that can be accessed adjacent to the rental.

Why they chose this property
This cottage has the water right outside your door. Guests can sit on the deck or the dock and have their coffee. It's bright and airy, and the wildlife activity in and on the lake is awesome. Bald eagles are nesting and fishing here more and more! Great blue herons are a daily sight as well as ospreys as they fish the shore .... lakemats allow swimming right at the dock with no late-summer weeds or muck ..... there's is a swim platform further out with a dori pole to keep birds away and for fishing, or just for relaxing .....
There is privacy here like no other, because just a few of the properties nearby on this stretch of road are lakeside - and yet it's still close to all the amenities of the town of Seneca Falls and a walk-to restaurant.
Usually cottages are on top of each other when lakefront, but not this one!
We spend a lot of the summer there and we can't wait to get back to the everyday joy of living on the lake. The outside yard and deck allow you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The cottage is year-round, and the fishing is crazy right from Spring on. The Summer season, and into the Fall, is so beautiful here.
Also, if the weather isn't cooperating, (which is usually brief on the lake), there is plenty to do in the area.

What makes this property unique
The views are awesome! The house is cozy and comfortable. The floor plan is spacious and airy. With large sleeping quarters up and down - guests can share the cottage either between two families, kids up and adults down; or whatever combination works best for your group. Water sports outside your back door. We just keep adding more amenities for your enjoyment (kayaks, canoe, lakemat off the dock, dock ladder, pontoon boat rental next to the property) Lots to do all around - or just relax and do nothing but enjoy the peace and quiet.
