About this property
Medieval Townhouse in the heart of Pacentro
Lying in the Majella National Park of the Apennines Mountains, Il Fascino di Pacentro (The Charm of Pacentro) is a 700 year old 2 bedroomed medieval terraced home situated in the historic mountainous village of Pacentro, Abruzzo, Italy.
Just 2 hours from Rome and 1 hour from Pescara Airport, Pacentro is ideally situated for exploring this rich and diverse region. With mountain walks on the doorstep, the Adriatic beaches just 1 hour away and many historical towns and villages to explore our holiday home makes this the ideal place to be!
Voted as “Uno dei Borghi piú belli d’Italia”, “One of the most beautiful villages in Italy”, the village of Pacentro is a community of medieval passageways and piazza’s.
This lovely 2 bedroom home near the castle in the village is in walking distance of the village shops, restaurants and bars. Everything you need to cook a gorgeous meal or enjoy a bbq outside is available for your use. The galley kitchen is equipped with all you need including a Lavazza Espresso coffee pod machine.
The entrance living and dining room is comfortable and cool and leads to the galley kitchen. This is a lovely and cosy room with a large fireplace. The main bedroom on the first floor has a king size bed with a chest of drawers and hanging rail. Doors open fully and have fly screens to a small balcony (not large enough to sit on). The bathroom with shower, toilet and washing machine is modern and on the opposite landing to the main bedroom. The main living room boasts views of the castle wall and from the balcony towards the mountains. There is a comfortable sofa and is our favourite place to play games, read and relax with a pre-dinner drink. All windows in the house have fly screens.

Nice house in the center of a lovely little town. Good value for money. 2nd time we were staying in the house, 4th time in Pacentro. No TV, no internet.
Thank you for letting us stay in your families wonderful holiday home.Pacentro was the most sensational place we've stayed, in all our European travels over the years. Morning coffee and afternoon aperitivo in Piazza Popoli, wandering through the lovely lanes, walks in nature...where do I stop?
This historic townhouse provides everthing you need and let you experience a wonderful holiday in a genuine town in Italy. You find yourself in a mountain region with various options for hiking and mountaineering. And don't miss the delicious food of the Abruzzo region.
My husband and I spent four nights in Pacentro. What a lovely village! Trish and Patrick are wonderful hosts and the townhome has everything you need. We fell in love with the village and the townhome! We will be back! Grazi, Trish!
We had a nice stay at this place. Our hostess was amazing staying in touch with us. She contacted us prior to the visit and helped us figure out a travel issue that we had. Our only suggestion would be that a car is important here. We planned to hike in the beautiful mountains, but there were no trails near the town. Otherwise the town is charming
Wonderful home nestled in an amazing old world town filled with amazing people. Stayed for 4 nights in an adorable home. All basic needs are there. We walked through town daily to get coffee in the morning at Gigis, then down to the local store for fresh cheese, local meats and stopped off at the bakery for fresh bread. We would wander back and enjoy the low stress levels of daily life here in Pacentro. The home is well stocked, we wamted for nothing. Inside is a reflection if the town and the culture with great pictures and art. Trish is a great host and we look forward to returning.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the property manager and although I couldn’t speak Italian, we were able to make it work. The property manager was also able to accommodate my early departure. The property was perfect for our family of 5. We didn’t mind the 10 minute walk or so to the center of Pacentro. The third floor was a little warm to begin the evenings but the property had fans and it cooled off quickly at night. Communication between the property manager and owner was perfect! They answered all my questions in a timely manner. I would definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity to visit again.

This little house in Pacentro was exactly what we needed for our short stay. Trish was very communicative, and Maria was friendly and reliable. It was VERY clean. We didn't spend much time in the house as we were in town for a family event, but it was the perfect spot to wind down the day. We would recommend Trish's place to anyone traveling through.
Ci torneremo sicuramente

About the host
Hosted by Trish Ellse
We are a family who love all things Italy. The people, the food and the mountains! We live and work in Britain and this house was the first we saw and the first home we ever owned. We love the village and want others to see and experience a bit of the true Italy! The region is beautiful with beaches not too far, skiing nearby, lots of activities, shopping and nature. Abruzzo is breathtaking with lots to do.
Why they chose this property
Great location, unique and comfortable. Great food all just a 5 minute walk away including one of Italy's best Slow Food restaurants Caldora.
What makes this property unique
Being in a house over 500 years old in the heart of the medieval part of the village. The village is known as the ancestral village of Madonna the popstar and some American politicians!
