This classic Hawaiian-style beach cottage is located in the heart of picturesque Hanalei Bay, Kauai - only a short walk to the beach and just two blocks to Hanalei Village. This charming pole house offers a front porch and an open floor plan that features a beam ceiling and louvered windows to circulate soft tradewind breezes. Stunning mountain vistas with waterfalls are framed in the dining/kitchen window to the back. The spacious yard features banana and papaya trees, plumeria and other tropical plants.

The two mile crescent beach of Hanalei is just steps away for sunbathing, beach combing and seasonal swimming. With snorkeling, hiking, and kayaking nearby and shopping and dining in Hanalei Village, this is the perfect vacation getaway!

We enjoyed our 2nd time staying here. The location is wonderful and the house was very clean. The neighborhood vibes are terrific and the beach being in walking distance is perfect. Easy access to downtown Hanalie.

Gorgeous Hanalei Getaway!

We loved our stay at this little Hanalei hideaway! We love the north side of the island for its green beauty, beaches and waterfalls. This cute house had views of all of it. From one bedroom, we could see moutains and waterfalls, from the other, we could see the beach and bay. The walks to the beach and the Hanalei stores and restaurants were quick and easy. The house was clean and comfortable, and Kauai Vacation rentals, who manages the property, was very easy to work with. We would definitely stay there again!

A Wonderful Stay

Clean, cosy, and full of character, this is such a lovely and comfortable home. Watch the bay with a drink out front as the sun goes down, or marvel at the unobstructed view of the mountains and waterfalls from the big kitchen window over breakfast. Our two year old really enjoyed pottering about, seeking out green lizards in the garden and was a BIG fan of the beach toys. Speaking of the beach, it’s right there, 3-5 mins walk away and the village is not much further.What a tranquil spot and a peaceful place to stay. It was our first stay but won’t be our last. We hope to return as soon as possible.

Great stocked kitchen with plenty of room to cook. Area under the house with laundry, great beach amenities (4 beach chairs, sand mat, toys, umbrella), and a nice area to store wet stuff. Loved all the provided linens and beach towels. These weren't really issues but something to be aware of:- You must pickup and drop off your house key at their headquarters near the airport. Super easy if you have a car but don't forget!- The bedrooms don't have ceilings so you can hear... everything. Bring ear plugs and eye masks if you are sensitive or go to bed early.- The house is a little rough around the edges. It is older and some of the stuff (couch, beds, chairs) haven't been updated in awhile and definitely show wear and tear. A bit frustrating given the cost but you are paying for the location.

This property is just right for small families who want to have a nice vacation without breaking the bank. Good location and Walking distance to everything. The only negative is there is no AC. It isn’t always needed but the house can get stuffy if there is no breeze.

Cute house with gorgeous views

We enjoyed our stay at Hanalei. The house was comfortable and location was very convenient. The welcome gift was a really nice surprise. The views of the mountains from the kitchen are incredible! In terms of privacy, the house has a large backyard, but it is at very close proximity to houses on the right and the left, so you do hear noise from neighbors throughout the day. Also, we noticed there were people passing through the property and under our window every day, which made us a bit uncomfortable. So overall, it didn’t feel very secluded. One thing we were not aware of is that there are no shampoo/conditioner provided, so we had to run and get some, which wasn’t a big deal, however we didn’t expect it. Overall we had a great stay, and we loved the chicken!

We enjoyed sitting out in the lanai every morning having our coffee and looking at the ocean. We were glad the rental has some great fans to use which were perfect for sleeping and staying cooler. We were able to walk or bike to town as well as to the beach! The unit was clean and worked out great for my husband and I. The management company was very nice. The one item I wish was different would be to have a lock box with the key or a code to get in. It was a little bit of a inconvenience to have to drive to Lihue to pick up keys for a rental way up in Hanalei. Mahalo!

And the space is totally adequate for 2-4 people but it didn’t work so great for us with our kids (age 4 and 8 months). The walls don’t go up to the ceiling so there is no sound barriers. Sliding glass doors with no marks or stickers so my kids kept running into them. And the deck and stairs are quite dangerous for little kids to go upand down or be on the deck alone. Also no kids beach toys or wagon.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Within walking distance of both local shops (including a grocery store) and the beach. Views from the home were beautiful. Be advised there is no ac or dishwasher. There are multiple fans, and we kept the windows open, which was sufficient with the breeze. Washer and dryer are a bonus. The kitchen was well equipped, and we appreciated the beach chairs, and used the grill. I will definitely rent here again if we get the chance to come back. Customer service with the rental process was exceptional. I love Hanalei. Neighbors were quiet. We did have a rooster and his family, including chicks nesting in the shrubs. If you want to drive to Ha'ena State Park, be prepared to reserve early for that. Hanalei Bay was beautiful and the water just right for the month of May. You don't need full sun to enjoy the beach; we went out on "cloudy" days and still felt warm. We only had one day out of five that was rained out.
