About this property
Olympic National Park, Hood Canal, & Brinnon Waterfront House
(HOUSE HAS FAST NEW WIFI SERVICE NOW)-------Get away from the big city, the stresses of life, and just kick back and hang on our huge deck and watch as eagles occasionally fly by — so close, it feels like you can touch them. Be sure to bring a camera.
This home are close to many attractions to the Olympic National Park and is a very private, quiet, relaxing retreat. From the deck, guests see nothing but water looking both north and south, where you can view wildlife. Our waterfront home house offers spectacular views with 130 feet of low bank beach on Hood Canal. The location offers a nature’s paradise to view wildlife, on occasion we have seals on our beach and sometimes you can hear and see them sing to each other at night. Home is a cozy older house for a place to totally get away from it all.
Eagles often glide by as close as 50 yards from the deck, great blue herons nest 75 yards away, and sometimes you will see deer hanging in the driveway in total peaceful tranquility. The panoramic water views of the beautiful Hood Canal from our giant wood deck are breathtaking and you are less then five minutes from Mount Walker where you can drive and see views of the Seattle skyline or, if you look in the opposite direction, you will see the beautiful snow peaks of the Olympics Mountain range.
If hiking is your thing, there are hundreds of beautiful trails nearby in the Olympic National Park. Hungry — head south nearby to Brinnon for two high quality restaurant for meals. Then come back home for a sunset kayak in front from the house. Swimming, fishing, and crabbing are possible there as well. It is a total paradise and a place to totally get away from it all.
The fully stocked kitchen, with a glorious view of the deck and water, includes a tiny breakfast bar. Our dining area has a table that seats six. It’s a great time to just kick back and enjoy the view and serenity of this peaceful place. The kitchen opens into the dining room and living room where you will never get tired of the incredible panoramic view of the water. Sunrises are gorgeous and sitting out on the oversized deck at night looking at the full moon’s reflection on the water is a great way to relax at the end of your day.
If you prefer to not cook, The Halfway House nearby is famous for excellent home cooking and homemade pies. Esquire magazine chose the nearby Geoduck Restaurant and Tavern #2 as “Best Bar in America,” and Pleasant Harbor Marina, just down the road, offers superb pizza and sandwiches. To the north is Quilcene, historic Port Townsend and Port Angeles. Hurricane Ridge, out of Port Angeles, is a great place for hiking. Port Townsend is a great spot for antiquing and the Victorian homes are incredible to see.
The home offers four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, flat screen tv with Dish, a dresser and closet. Second bedroom comes with a queen-sized bed, flat tv, and a closet, the third has a queen bed and flat tv, the fourth bedroom is a loft that has a 2 single size beds. There is a flat-screen tv in the living room as well with satellite tv. A king-sized washing machine and dryer are also available.
Bring your fishing poles and check out the many rivers that flow into Hood Canal.
Nearby Dosewallips State Park, with acres of clams and oysters and geoduck, is also a great place to beach comb at low tide. Brinnon is a hiker’s paradise and there are spectacular trails and waterfalls in Brinnon or in the nearby Olympic National Park. Or check out the great mountain biking trails. Divers can see several species of rockfish, octopus and all sorts of crabs. A little further down the road is Mount Walker. A short drive up the mountain at the scenic view area, you will be blown away by the spectacular views of the Olympic Mountain range and turn your head back east and see the City of Seattle skyline. Our house is centrally located on the edge of the Olympic National Park is an ideal location as a base for adventures to explore the park. Olympic National Park covers 922,651 acres of three distinct habitat zones, the alpine region, the coastline and the temperate rain forest. At 1,441 square miles, the park is larger than Rhode Island(1,214 square miles).
