Casa Libre in Samara, Costa Rica, is an absolutely beautiful and peaceful getaway. This modern, Spanish colonial style villa is perched atop a ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean and is nestled among the hills and tropical forests that cascade down to the sea. It is completely furbished with high quality furnishings and modern appliances, and is very close to any number of ocean and jungle adventures.
This private 10-acre landscaped property surrounded by jungle and dry forests is located at the end of a short, rugged, semi-private road, Casa Libre is a privately situated and securely gated 2+ bedroom, 3 bathroom home. It is not remote, but it is secluded, very private, and enjoys panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding hills. The house has all the modern conveniences that you could ask for, complete with an infinity pool and rancho with bar and grill. We recently added a handcrafted dining table and chairs made of local Guanacaste wood for the common area.
Apart from all the interior amenities of a 4-year old home (ceiling fans in every room, air conditioning, recessed lights, fully equipped kitchen with teak cabinets and granite counters, king-size beds, etc.) the exterior is even more compelling. The expansive veranda, the rooftop observatory pavilion, and the infinity pool with the adjoining rancho, bar and grill are all features that beckon guests outdoors. It's surrounding gardens draw butterflies and moths of all sorts and the views beyond are spectacular.
Casa Libre is a peaceful tropical sanctuary, and yet very close to the energy of numerous water sports and the buzz of the casual but sophisticated night life of Samara. It is nestled between two nature preserves in the foothills above two of Costa Rica's most idyllic beaches -- Playa Samara and Playa Carrillo. Samara is a beach destination for internationals seeking the exhilaration of surfing, snorkeling, sea kayaking, paddle-boarding, beach volleyball, horseback riding, fishing, swimming, and beachfront restaurants, bars and yoga studios. It's a lively village and little more than a mile from the house.
