We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this villa in Monchique, Portugal. The location is truly stunning – perched on top of the mountain with breathtaking views in every direction. It felt so peaceful, yet it was only around 40 minutes to reach anywhere we wanted to go.The villa itself was beautiful, spotless, and very well maintained. The grounds were just as impressive – perfectly kept, and a pleasure to wander around. Eulalia, the villa manager, was incredibly welcoming and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable.The highlight for us was definitely the pool. It was large, crystal clear, and wonderfully maintained – we didn’t even need it heated in August. Relaxing by the pool while soaking in those views was unforgettable.The kitchen was also extremely well-equipped, making cooking at the villa a breeze. Overall, this villa exceeded our expectations in every way – we can’t recommend it highly enough and would love to return!

A beautiful cottage in lovely gardens

A lovely authentic cottage in pretty gardens. A gem to find a rural property within walking distance of good restaurants. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Useful to know... If you arrive after 9pm, all the supermarkets/shops are closed, so get the basics you need or want for the night and first thing in the morning, such as water/coffee/milk before you leave the airport. The pool is a great size with lovely views. The Monchique area is delightful. A lovely holiday.

This is the best place to stay in Portugal. The home has everything you need with a wonderful view of the valley and the sea. The host is most accommodating and helpful. We truly intend to return.

Lovely peaceful villa surrounded by beautiful countryside. very comfortable, well equipped and tastefully furnished. We loved our stay here and enjoyed explorin and walking in the surrounding area. the pool is fantastic and wonderful to come back to and cool off after a good walk. thank you

Perfect for a quiet holiday with choice of local restaurants and lovely walks.

This is such a lovely place. Peaceful and relaxing with a great pool and fabulous mature but well kept garden. The house has everything you need and is spotlessly clean and larger than the pictures suggest. Several of the local restaurants are just a walk away and the town has a relaxed vibe and is certainly not ‘touristy’. Being able to go for walks from the doorstep into the hills around us was fantastic. Pascal and Eulália were lovely hosts and extremely helpful. Would definitely return here.

Lovely property

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and the villa's size, equipment and location surpassed any expectations. Our meeting up with the Villa manager was simple and Eulalia was always happy to help. Only mistake was not booking the wonderful villa for longer !

Couples Weekend Escape

We needed a quiet recharging holiday and it was fantastic! Pascal was very responsive, the host was very attentive and the property was exceptional. Very snug in winter and we enjoyed lots of fires and cooking together. We will definitely be back! Thank you

Can’t wait to return

Me and my girlfriend stayed here at the end of our portgual break to wind down after being by the busier towns and coast, my only regret is that we didn’t book for longer. The hosts couldn’t be more accommodating, fast responses to any questions I had. The villa is fully equipped with everything you may need. It really is a beautiful villa, very spacious and as for the pool…. big, clean, the views were amazing, we could have easily hung out here for two weeks! We will 100% return and recommend to anyone we know visiting Portugal.

A Gem In Monchique

Just concluded 7 nights at your property and absolutely loved it. The property provided all the lovely comforts of home along with a beautiful pool and landscaping that excites us daily. We felt spoiled with all the space and privacy. Monchique is such a charming town isolated town yet 30 minutes away from the action of Portimao and Lagos. Our hostess Eulália warmly welcomed us and set us up with the property and town. We are looking for excuses to visit again soon.

A peaceful oasis

This property is lovely. Spotlessly clean, well-equipped kitchen, large pool. Gardens nicely landscaped and has a couple of orange trees. Great views. Quiet- only birds and the occasional dog from across the valley. We were warmly welcomed by Eulalia, who can show you the shortcut into town and has good tips for places to eat, good beaches, etc. Despite feeling like you’re in the middle of nowhere, town is a 15 minute walk or a short drive, and beaches west and south are 45 minutes to an hour away. Our regret is that we only stayed a week.

Even better than the description!

This is a quirky house with lots of personality. Beautifully decorated, cozy and comfortable. The bright sunny kitchen is well out-fitted with all the conveniences of home. Direct access to the patio dining area was a bonus! Livingroom, dining room, kitchen and bathroom are all quite large. The bedroom is small but more than adequate. Outdoors, the gardens, pool, sitting areas (many), and the surrounding property are sublime. It is the perfect place to relax. We really enjoyed picking fruit right from the tree. Fresh oranges for breakfast are a real treat! The property is situated in a perfect location. Easy walking distance to Monchique (1km) Several nice walking trails right from the property. Fabulous views with not a neighbor in sight. Several good restaurants located within a 5-10min walk. We'd like to thank, both the property manager and the owner for making our stay PERFECT! I really hope that we can come back for another visit sometime soon!

Monchique Villa Oct/Nov

Despite our late arrival (after midnight), we were welcomed by the property manager Eulália, who met us at the local supermarket and shown us the way to the villa and gave us a thorough guide to the property. The villa itself was lovely with everything you need for your stay. The surrounding garden was beautiful with stunning views of the valley below and neighbouring hillsides. I can imagine the private pool being an absolute godsend in the summer months, but could have been a little warmer for our autumn visit (I myself swam in it most days - took a couple of minutes to get used to the cool water - very refreshing all the same). The log burner was great to have for the evening time and there's an unlimited amount of wood available, supplied by the owner. to the location and the terrain, hiring a car an absolute necessity when staying at this villa. Monchique is a five minute journey and the nearby towns + the south and west coastlines are relatively closeby, no longer than an hour's drive. We even drove to and from Lisbon for a day trip, but I'd recommend using the A22 and A2 toll roads rather than the road from Monchique leading in a north easterly direction (very winding- so not good for travel sickness). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying in this villa.

Paradise

We stayed late May24 and found the villa to be fabulous. The pictures don't do the place justice at all. The gardens and surrounding area are stunning. Mature planting with orange and lemon trees. The pool is a great size with stunning view down to Monchique. Weather was in the mid to late 20's but we still opted for the heated pool which was great. A couple of nights the temperature dropped quite quickly so would advise some hoodies etc. The villa is well equipped and spacious for a small family. There are two bedroom areas both with doubles. There is also a pull out bed in the living area. The kitchen is well propotioned and has all the essentials.wifi is ok but patchy by the pool. Outside has several eating areas with a gas bbq. The owner and agent were both welcoming and responsive. There are a suprising amount of restaurants locally with at least 4 in walking distance (age depending). The town is a short drive and has a large supermarket and a limited amount of bars/restaurants and shops.A magical place for a relaxing week. Some constructive critique is that the furnishings and linen could do with being replaced. Also a welcome pack with guide on how things work at the villa would have been welcomed. Mosquitos are prominent so would advise taking or buying solutions. A hire car is essential if you want to see any of the surrounding area. Monchique itself is walkable but wouldn't advise with shopping etc. Overall we couldn't fault it and hope to return in the future.

Spent a week at Villa Pascal and had a lovely relaxing time. The villa was clean and well appointed. The TV channels were mainly in French and German so take a laptop with VPN to connect if you want to watch more English channels other than Sky or Bloomberg news. Set above Monchique in the hills, the villa offers peace and quiet with just the sound of the trees rustling in the wind most of the time. Hardly heard the neighbouring property at all. Only one restaurant within walking distance but plenty more within 5-10mins drive. All in all, I'd definately recommend this villa if you want privacy and quiet. Not suitable for folk with mobility issues though.

Charaktervolles Häuschen mit allem, was man braucht. Traumhafter Garten und großer Pool. Die Verwalterin Eulália war großartig, sowohl bei der Ankunft als auch bei der schnellen Lösung eines technischen Defekts. Für eine perfekte Bewertung würden wir uns eine bessere Instandhaltung wünschen (Duscharmatur, Stockige Silikonfugen, Kalkablagerungen, defekte Sonnenschirme, klebriger Lack auf Tisch, quitschendes Bett, wackeliger Grilltisch, wackelige Toilette, defekter Spülknopf, durchgesessene Sessel etc). Alles nicht schlimm! Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit in der schönen Unterkunft.

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in Monchique. Das Haus liegt sehr schön, die Natur ist eindrucksvoll und der Pool herausragend. In den heißen Nächten war es ausreichend kühl, um gut zu schlafen. Die Kommunikation und das Einchecken liefen problemlos.Hier und da merkt man dem Gebäude und der Ausstattung das Alter an, kleinere Reparaturen und der Austauch von altem Gerät wären hier wünschenswert. Es war aber nichts, was unseren Urlaub nachhaltig beeinträchtigt hat. Wir haben die Zeit genossen und uns wunderbar erholt.
