The cabin is clean and well organized. The host gave a great recommendation on a local restaurant and coffee shop that are around the corner from the cabin. The whole process from booking to check out was hassle-free

We enjoyed our stay at the Alpine Chalet. Good proximity to Mt Glacier N P. The beds were comfortable and the TV was great for watching football. We are older and did not find it walkable to town but other than that, the town was a short drive!

First and foremost, the location was perfect and we could have stayed much longer if we could so that we could have soaked up all the surroundings and the river. Very clean and comfortable. It was over 90 degrees both days and the air conditioning was a relief. We watched the hawks and eagles fly overhead and the elk making their way to and fro. I recommend this cabin for anyone who loves the fresh mountain air.

Clean, quiet, comfy, and convenient

We enjoyed our stay at the Alpine Chalet in Packwood. Convenient location just off the main drag. Very quiet. Great amenities. The AC was a lifesaver during a 90+ degree weekend.

Relaxing Alpine Chalet for our family.

The Alpine Chalet was great and very clean. It was well stocked with kitchen supplies. Easy communication with the owner, he got back to us right away. It's is a great location, easy walk to the beach and into town. It was great seeing the Elk every morning walk through the yard. It was such a great cozy spot for our family to get together and visit for a few days. We will definitely be back.

Mt Rainier visit pre cruise

Nice cabin located in small town- multiple restaurants nearby, elk walked by early each morning, park with river access within a short walking distance, quiet neighborhood. All of my inquiries were responded to quickly (as I planned for our trip). There are other residential/rental homes very nearby. We (group of 6-3couples) stayed in Aug and we needed to sleep with windows open and fans in the windows downstairs as the AC didn’t cool enough for our liking. The couple who stayed upstairs were comfortable with the AC there. Hot water in the showers was plentiful and the beds were fine- but pillows were a bit dense for us. The washer and dryer worked great and efficiently. The kitchen had the tools we needed for breakfasts but we chose to eat dinners out. Ate at the brewery Saturday night (live music) and at the Saloon on Sunday. Good food at both. Visited Mt Rainier Saturday and Sunday with 9-11 timed entry and the drive was scenic and easy to both Nisqually and Sunrise.

Packwood Rental

This is a great house for a couple of nights. The neighborhood is quiet but you are very exposed to the street. The beds and other furnishings are comfortable, the fire place is great and the kitchen has all the equipment you could need. The bedrooms are small without dressers, it might be difficult for more than one adult to share the downstairs bedrooms. If you were staying here in the winter, I am not sure where wet jackets or other snow gear could be hung up. My only complaint was that we were required to do two loads of laundry and they wanted towels done first and then sheets. This means that if you want to shower, dry dishes, dry your hands after using the restrooms, etc you're on a tight morning time schedule or you end up leaving at least some towels in the laundry basket.
