Keswick, Garden Apartment for 2. Excellent location.Convenient for all amenities
This delightful one bedroom studio apartment, consisting of the ground floor of a stone-built terraced cottage, is in a most convenient location, close to the River Greta and Fitz Park, and within easy walking distance of all Keswick's amenities, Derwentwater, the Theatre by the Lake and the Leisure Pool. It is an ideal base from which to explore this superb part of the Lake District, whether on foot, bicycle or by car. There is a wonderful variety of walks available right from the door and good local bus services so that a car is not necessary. There is free car parking with no restrictions in the street and it is almost always possible to find a parking place just outside, or at least very close by. Comfortably furnished, it is surprisingly spacious and the living/dining room has a French door to the patio which adds to the light and airy feel of the property. The sofa in the lounge area opens to make a single bed for occasional use for which bed linen can be requested. It has a well-equipped kitchen with a washing machine and drying rack. Access is through the large, lawned, shared garden. There is a collection of books, maps and guides. New smart TV (summer 2025) with your apps to log into. The cottage is maintained by the owner who will be pleased to offer advice on walks, attractions and transport in the area. Keswick is a mecca for walkers and cyclists and has many galleries, craft and outdoor shops and an excellent choice of cafés, restaurants and lively pubs. Garden Apartment is only a few minutes level walking distance to the shops, pubs, restaurants and attractions of Keswick. Just over the road and the footbridge across the River Greta lies Fitz Park, with its riverside meadows, woodland and gardens, tennis courts, bowling greens and superlative children’s play area. The magnificently refurbished Victorian museum has a cafe that looks over the park. And ten minutes walk brings you to the Theatre By The Lake which has a most varied and interesting programme of plays, music and events to suit all tastes throughout the year. Keswick is a wonderful centre for walkers, climbers, cyclists, water sports enthusiasts and lovers of the landscape. As well as catering for all these interests close by, being the transport hub of the North Lakes the attractions of the rest of the Lake District are easily reached. If you want to leave the car behind the local bus services or the Derwentwater launches are great for taking you to the start of a walk or bringing you back when you've gone as far as you want. The English Lake District is the most beautiful part of the country with a landscape that has attracted artists, poets, tourists and outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world. It was designated A UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017. The lakes that give the District its name are unique and each one offers something a little different to its visitors. Derwentwater, the “Jewel of the Lake District”, is particularly scenic, with many shoreline and woodland walks on land cared for by the National Trust. It has some of the best boating and water sport opportunities, with a number of marinas and boat hire companies serving visitors. Around the lake several of the fells rise to more than 3000 feet and to the south, Borrowdale gives access to some of the finest hill walks in the country. Keswick lies at the north end of the lake. An attractive little town with the distinctive Moot Hall standing proud over its market place, as well as being a shopping, tourist and accommodation centre, it is a focus for adventure sports and outdoor activities. The nearby Whinlatter Forest has a renowned visitor centre with a shop, cafe, and cycle centre with mountain biking trails, walking trails, and adventure activities and Go-Ape trail in the forest. It's visitor centre also has a CCTV live osprey viewing screen.

Wonderful hosts. Love the room with a view of the sea from the shower!Near to everything. Breakfast is customisable which was a treat. Will stay again.
For a first time Lake District experience this accommodation was perfect. Easy parking, close to the centre, quiet and a very well set up kitchen as we cooked the wonderful local food each night.
We had an excellent stay. The apartment was clean and accurately reflected in the photos. The location to the center of town was an easy walk but away from the crowds. Steve and Irena were very helpful and accommodating.
We enjoyed our stay very much and had everything we needed. Steve and Irena were very helpful, especially when we locked ourselves out of the apartment. Great location for walking around Keswick and quick access to other lake areas.
Exceptionally clean, comfortable, well-furnished, kind and helpful hosts. Very well situated for walking into Keswick, doing local walks, using the bus system and easy parking/driving. Perfect studio for 2 adults. Stayed 4 nights and would have loved to stay longer. Thanks Steve and Irena!
Lovely garden apartment. Great hosts. Easy walk to centre of Keswick. Street parking only but no charges and it was easy. We left the car for three days as you can walk or bus everywhere.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodation had everything we needed and more. Was great to arrive and have milk in our fridge and tea and coffee ready to have a brew the minute we arrived. The place was spotless and spacious. Would recommend this place to stay when in keswick
Perfect space for 2, great location/walking distance. The owners went above and beyond to accommodate a few special requests we had. My mom spent her 70th birthday here for a short get-away and said it was her best birthday ever.
Comfortable large single room apt at ground level with spacious, although a bit humid a kitchen. High street at 7 minutes walk. Steve's a great host, super helpful
This is our second stay and it was as nice as remembered, close to Keswick town centre, well equipped for what we needed, parking on street no problem and would happily stay here again. Owner was pleasant and had a brief chat when we were sitting in the lovely garden for an afternoon drink.

Thank you for coming to stay with us again, and thank you for being perfect guests. We would be delighted to welcome you again.
We enjoyed our stay in this sweet downstairs apartment. It was away from hubbub of town and so close to nearby park and river and also to easily accessed trails. The apartment had all the things we needed for meal prep and a fine collection of maps for trails, local history and geological information. We would stay here again. Steve snd Irena were gracious hosts.
This home was just perfect for the two of us. The location is great. We walked everywhere - the grocery store, shops in town, the lake marina. The Lake district is a joy to visit. We had one minor problem, the toaster didn't work but our host replaced it immediately. The bed is quite comfortable. The kitchen is large and easy to work in. I highly recommend this home.
Ideal for a single, couple or additional child as it is a double and a sofa bed. The only problem is parking if you come by car. I didn't, so it was ideal and a short walk to the shops , restaurants and the park. Keswick is a lovely place and just a short distance from the beautiful lake. I also went to a performance at the Theatre, which was excellent. The hosts are lovely and fix any problems immediately.

Thank you for your Review Helen. Parking can sometimes be a problem during the Keswick Convention, last two weeks of July and first week of August, when three thousand Conventioners arrive in the town, but it is almost always possible to find a parking place just outside, or at least very close by during the rest of the year.
This is a lovely little apartment less than 5 minutes walk into Keswick town centre. The owner met us on arrival and departure and was pleasant and friendly. The apartment is small but perfectly formed and was ideal for the two of us. We didn't use the kitchen much as we ate out but it seemed well equipped. My only niggle, and it is really very minor, is that the bathroom would benefit from a shelf above the sink and some hooks for towels/dressing gowns. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and hope to do so in the future.

Thank you very much for your review Dawn and I would be delighted to be hosting you again sometime. And thanks for your suggestions - hooks and bathroom shelf will be going up directly!
Very well located for shopping, meeting tours for day trips and short hikes. After almost a month traveling it was a wonderful place to just relax, get rejuvenated. and catch up on laundry.
Host was readily available for help and advice.
A neat studio style apartment with a large kitchen. There is just a curtain between bedroom and living but together it is a large enough living space. Parking is very difficult but I didn't have a car. Walking distance to everywhere and good bus service to other villages. Instant access to owner if necessary.

We had a brilliant stay at the property, it was in a fantastic location which was easy to find and had plenty of parking (even at half term/jubilee bank holiday).
The property was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The host gave us plenty of information and seemed very approachable.
The only thing that let the property down was that it was very cold, particularly in the kitchen and bathroom. We could not work out how to turn on the radiators so ended up using electric heaters for lots of the stay. I’d recommend bringing warm pyjamas and slippers if staying here.
Overall we had a lovely time and intend to visit again soon.
