Street parking is available as well as a private drive and parking in the rear of the home. A full-size washer and dryer is available in the home for your convenience. Once you arrive, there is very little need for a vehicle. Harris Teeter and Trader Joe’s grocery stores are a short seven-minute walk from the house. Bustling downtown Asheville is only a ten-minute walk. There you will find over 65 eclectic and unique restaurants, independent shops, theaters, coffee and tea shops, and lastly, but not least, all of the independent micro breweries. Most of the breweries offer tours of their facilities, which has made Asheville known as “Beer City USA”. Come see why Asheville has often been referred to as “The Paris of The South”. If you enjoy architecture Asheville has many historic buildings and churches with some very unique features like the Grove Arcade, St. Lawrence Basilica, S&W Building, and Woolworth building with the original soda fountain counter still serving sandwiches and milk shakes. There are many day trips too. The Blue Ridge Parkway is just a ten-minute drive away. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, where the movies Dirty Dancing and Last of the Mohicans were filmed, are a few “must sees”. Black Mountain, Hendersonville, Hot Springs, Brevard, and Waynesville are some other unique mountain towns. If you are in to hiking, biking or simply going on a leisure stroll, there are many trails, state parks, waterfalls, and rivers for tubing, kayaking, and white water rafting.
The Biltmore Estate is only a ten minute drive from the house. It is the largest privately owned estate in North America and has it’s own winery. Enjoy the tours, restaurants, shopping, and of course, the French Chateau style home built by George W. Vanderbilt.
Whatever your reason to visit Asheville, you will never be short on anything to do, even if it’s absolutely nothing. Our home provides a relaxing, comfortable, and convenient place to start. Welcome home!
