Nature Lover's Paradise In The Driftless Area Of Southern Wisconsin, USA.
We are located on a hidden bluff at the end of a dead end road in the driftless area of Southern Wisconsin near the popular tourist destination of New Glarus, America's Little Switzerland in Green County Wisconsin.
The property is nestled in a stand of mature oak trees with rock cliffs, deer & turkeys grazing in the yard. It is a nature lovers dream!
The 2600 square foot 3.5 bath log home sits on 40 acres. The home features four spacious bedrooms with plush beds, a large surround deck in the tree tops, high speed internet & access to private walking trails that wind through the woods complete with limestone cliffs and pollinator prairies. The interior of the home is lined with pine boards that give off a pleasant aroma and add to the character adding to the cabin feel but the home is well appointed and has all the features you will likely need.
We are close to many communities like New Glarus, Dodgeville, Mineral Point, Mt Horeb where local festivals take place weekly throughout the spring, summer and fall. Take in a brewery tour or sample some fresh cheese at one of the many local cheese factories. Be sure to ask for fresh curds!
There is easy access to Yellowstone Lake State Park and Wildlife Areas with a host of other possible recreational activities including hiking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, boating. There is even hunting, in season and recreational shooting at a well maintained no cost range at Yellowstone Lake Wildlife Area.
**** VRBO rate software does not allow us to discriminate between children and adults as additional guests and will automatically generate an additional guest fee if the number of children are entered. We only charge an additional guest fee for adult guests. We do not charge for kids!
Please note the number of children that will be staying with us in your email to us so we are aware that you are bringing your children but do not list your children as guests to avoid the additional guest fee. We have contacted VRBO to hopefully resolve this issue. Thank you! ****

Beautiful property! Well maintained and furnished. Very kind host. I wish the family room on the main level was an air conditioned space--nowhere else to really hang out with everyone otherwise.
We had a wonderful time at Hidden Bluff Lodge! Our host/hostess was very quick to respond when we had questions. The house had everything we needed for our family….the kids loved the loft. The house location allowed us to visit 4 state parks in the area, as well as visiting quaint towns and beautiful countrysides. We highly recommend this to other families who need space to spread out!
This is a beautiful property. The setting is so gorgeous in the hills. You immediately relaxed. Great kitchen facilities to have meals there. Very clean. Comfortable beds. The mowed walking path around the property was a bonus. The bird feeder was a delight to watch in the mornings as we enjoyed our own breakfast. Our host was very good with communication and personable to greet us but not intrusive. Very special place.
The house was beautiful and well equipped. We found everything easily within the house. Enjoyed just relaxing after along day wandering around New Glarus Beer, Bacon, and Cheese Festival.
We enjoyed every second of our stay at Hidden Bluff Lodge. We were grateful to have the ability to bring our therapy dog for our teenage son, and Steve was so sweet to greet her! He also made sure he let us know about any hazards on the property (typical wild life like bees and critters as well as limitations of the trails) with a short tour before giving us privacy for the remainder of our stay. Everything was so relaxing, our dog never barked and our son’s anxiety never peaked. What more could a family ask for?!?
From our arrival to departure everything was perfect! Our host was extremely helpful showing us around and giving us suggestions on things to do and see. The property is fabulous! We hope to be back soon!
We enjoyed the house, the beautiful area for hiking, and sitting back,by a fire, looking at the moon and stars. The house was very clean, and we had everything we needed for a great stay. We would definitely love to come back for another visit....... Gail and Freddie
We very much enjoyed our stay at Hidden Bluff Lodge. The owner lives nearby so was accessible for anything we needed. The property is beautiful and well maintained. There was enough space for the 6 of us to spend time together and have our own space.
Our stay at this property was an amazing success. We had a ton of fun. The host was so helpful and responsive. Would totally book this property again. It would be wonderful for a family/group with kids. The beds are very high if anyone is short(like me) but we enjoyed our trip so much!
We had a wonderful stay at this quiet and lovely property. Thoroughly enjoyed exploring and watching the birds & wildlife. Highly recommend if you’d like to escape business, traffic, and enjoy solitude & nature. Owner was great and very responsive.
Truly enjoyed our stay! Well equipped kitchen, good communication and guidance from our host, beautiful location where nature abounds! Loved the birdwatching each morning over coffee. Our family felt right at home and had fun exploring the trails both at the cabin and the nearby state parks.
My husband and I had a wonderful weekend getaway at this cozy cabin. The property sits on a beautiful piece of land and we loved how peaceful it was. Being able to bring our dog along made the trip even better. Highly recommend!
Hosts were very accommodating. Place was one of our favorites ever. Can’t wait to visit again!

About the host
Hosted by Stephen & Marilyn Zipsie
My wife Marilyn and I were born and raised in Southern Wisconsin. We have lived in the area all our lives and know that there are many special places in this world but there is no place like home! Our daughter and her husband live nearby and we are able to see our grandchildren on a daily basis. It is a great place for a family and we chose to make it our home.
Why they chose this property
My wife and I purchased this home last year because it was at the end of our dead end road right next our home and included land adjacent to our land. We retired recently and thought that it would be a good place for friends and family to stay while visiting the area. When not use by our guests, it is available to the family.
What makes this property unique
We love this part of Wisconsin because it is in a physically beautiful area with trout streams, cliffs and deep valleys. We can watch the deer in the yard every morning and hear the sounds of sand hill cranes and turkeys by day or watch a bald eagle circling overhead and hear coyotes by night. At night the sky is full of stars that most will never see. With all the hustle and bustle and chaos in the world these days, we know that we can step outside and hear the sound of the wind in the trees and leave everything behind us and just enjoy life with our children and grand children.
