For the price, this was a great place to stay and right in the heart of the Port tasting places. Just a short trip over the bridge into the main part of town.
This was a great rental. Excellent location. Very clean and easy to access and the host was great to work with. Even though the area is busy the rental was very quiet and you could not hear the street noise at all. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting.
Great location right off the Douro River in Gaia, steps from all the activity. Clean, bright, large bedrooms, comfortable beds and furniture.Issues: water pressure in one bathroom was non-existent. Parking was issue - local small lot was fine until local residents complained. We had received approval from the security guard, but the locals weren't having it. Parked in WOW parking lot not knowing it closed at some point overnight, Although it only toook 10 minutes to get unlocked, it was distressing. Lessons: explore parking lots and garages.
Overall, this apt was perfect for us (2 couples). Great location! Really appreciated being on the Gaia side of the river. Had some problems with a leaking roof, but it was tended to the next day. As in many older European buildings, the circuit breaker main blew often if more than 1 appliance was running at a time. My only crticism was the lack of a mattress pad and fitted sheets. A top sheet simply does not stay in place and you end up ditectly on the mattress, as did all of the guests prior to you.
