We really enjoyed being on the water in Sooke. Being able to hope on our paddleboards without having to drive was a big plus for us. The home was spacious and served our family of 8 well.
The house was great, lots of room for family over the holidays. We particularly enjoyed the friendly swan, king tides, and I enjoyed the roosters (young male children not so much ha ha - at least we got them out of bed!).
Once again enjoyed our stay. First time we stayed here in spring and the weather was decent although a little cool. House and property has everything you need.
Too bad the government has cancelled short term rentals. We will definitely miss this place.
Fantastic location. Rental could use a little TLC, however it was clean and comfortable. Quiet location and friendly neighbours. Had everything we needed for our stay.
What an amazing spot for a family getaway. I would definitely recommend, the location on the water was beautiful. The host was responsive and helpful as well.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The house was equipped with with all the necessities. The outdoor space is amazing, very private with direct access to the beach. We watched orca wales pass by, seals and even a beautiful swan.
All five of us loved staying here! Of course, the beautiful summer weather helped. We loved the tranquil water views from the living & dining rooms. We enjoyed conversing on the patio.
Beautiful property right on the ocean. House is old but well kept and has everything you need.
Have come here 3yrs in a row and will definitely be booking for next year.
Love it.
Our family had a wonderful getaway in Sooke. The house was in a great location and we loved waking up each morning to the beautiful sunrises. We looked forward to walks along the water which was just right off the property. The house was very clean upon our arrival. The ants in the kitchen and bathroom were a bit of a nuisance, despite ant traps in both locations. We would stay here again if we came back to Vancouver Island.
We all loved our stay at this charming house! The view is stunning. We were entertained by the seals ,otters and birds including Romeo the resident swan.Loved walking on the shore when the tide was out. Rob was a wonderful host, responsive within minutes if I had a question. The house itself is bright and cosy,we had a fire in the fire pit outside most days.It was such a relaxing stay and lots of hiking and sight seeing to do in the area, even ventured into Victoria for a visit to the bug museum and lunch.Hope to stay again!
We had a very nice visit to Billings Spit Beach House. The location is perfection with a walk-out right to the beach. Quiet setting in a cute cottage. With 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms it is larger than it looks. Great space for meals, games, TV, etc. There are a few items that need some attention but mainly easy, cosmetic fixes. Sooke has nice grocery and food options or Victoria is a scenic drive away. Really enjoyed exploring the area. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing change of pace to explore Vancouver Island - perfect spot for outdoor adventures and relaxation when you return to the cottage.
My family had a wonderful time here. The view was beautiful and we loved the direct access to the ocean and beach. There was ample outdoor space and seating. All four bedrooms were well appointed.
While there was no air conditioner, the place cooled off well at night and the drapes kept out the sun to keep the place comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed for a short term rental.
We did not enjoy the neighboring rooster, though of course this was outside the control of the owner. We did find that the house was sound-proofed well enough that the rooster did not wake us, so that was a definite plus.
Would recommend a trip to the Sooke Pot Holes during you stay.
My kids did not want to leave. Thank you!
The location is lovely- right on the water, but the home is in need of major cleaning & renos. We were unable to use one of the bedrooms as the bed & carpet were soaked in urine. Not sure how that could have been missed when cleaning - the smell alone was disgusting. Unfortunately it meant one couple had to sleep in bunk beds with thin mattresses meant for kids. Not ideal. We’ve been promised one night refund. Hopefully it comes through.

Clean but Tired
The place was clean and had all the necessities but a few things didn't work and the house has not been well maintained. Dishwasher wasn't working properly, toaster as well. Screen door had holes and was ripped and the floorboards in the place had huge spaces between them with a lot of unhealthy looking stuff in them. Some of the windows seals had gone and the outdoor seat cushions had cigarette burns in them. Not enough seating for more than 4 people in the house. The photos look better than it actually is.With a bit of care and fixing it could be an ok place for the price.
A perfect family vacation rental with amazing views!
It was a great villa to enjoy quality time with our family. It was a great location to explore the beautiful Island. The beds were very comfortable, so we all enjoyed a good nights sleep. The views were beautiful out of the windows and outside. Loads of cooking utensils, a coffee machine which is great. It would have been good to have some coffee pods to have initially.
We enjoyed playing the games left , even though we are all adults. We had to search for the light switches though and to work out which one was for which light. All fun and games!
The seating outside was great. If you could make the sun set Infront of the house, that would have been the cherry on the top!
The washing facilities were great to have too.
We all enjoyed staying there and it was handy having leaflets for things to do around the area. Maybe more restaurant recommendations would be great. We went to West coast grill, Stickleback Grill , Stoked Pizza and Shirley Delicious. Also little Vienna Bakery.
Thank you for a wonderful stay and helping us make more wonderful family memories. I would stay there again. Rob was very helpful too. Thank you.
This is a beautiful and charming cottage, with lots of character and everything you need along with the beautiful view of the bay and beach access. Highly recommended.
Lovely location and a nice house for families plenty of room
Its in a quiet area right on the beach, i would only
Add that if you have some mobility issues the few stairs make it awkward and could be a problem for some.
We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights here, celebrating a 70th birthday. The setting on the water is REALLY lovely. The raised deck, the patio, and the side yard offer different places to sit and enjoy the view and watch the birds, seals, and jumping fish. You can walk right out through the yard gate onto the tidal beach. It was hot enough for one of us to go swimming! (On October 2nd! Unusual and amazing!) There was enough space for everyone and the kitchen was quite well equipped for a rental. The comfort level would be increased with some wall hooks added to the three smaller bedrooms so clothes and towels could be hung up. Also improved lighting in the common areas would make nighttime activities easier - reading, writing, games, puzzles. Overall, a very memorable weekend in a stunning spot! Thank you!
Das Ferienhaus liegt traumhaft am Strand und war für uns (5 Erwachsene und 2 Kleinkinder) ideal geeignet.
