The owners were so helpful to answer our questions, and they have an amazing location! I will definitely recommend this spot for small groups who want to visit the area.
Awesome lower level apartment outside of Escalante. Beautiful home and grounds. Friendly dogs and cats welcomed us home every time. We hiked every day so were tired when we returned for the evening. I wish we had walked around the ranch more, but it was cool and the days were short. This location is perfect for visiting Bryce, Calf Creek and the Hole-in-the-Rock Road sights. There were cattle in the paddock and in the morning numerous wild turkeys. Just beautiful.
The property was within site of the state highway but a world away. It is the ground floor of a home with 2br/1ba, large living room, and kitchenette. It has its own private entrance with bbq and outdoor seating. It is located on a working ranch about 5 miles from the town of Escalante.
The address provided by Expedia does not work on Garmin or Google Maps. It does work on Apple Maps. The hostess provided an alternate address that worked on Garmin and Google.
Although we only stayed one night, I wish we had more time to enjoy the ranch itself as it is on a stream with trails and hills right there.
Nicely furnished and very clean bottom floor of a beautiful home. The beds and linens were super comfy. Kristen was very nice, and attentive. It was great to visit the Escalante region. We loved it!
The land on which the family built their home is amazing. The vrbo is new, well set up, and very comfortable. The family was so nice and helpful the entire time we were there. Escalante is beautiful!!
We could easily stay here for weeks! Very beautiful family canyon with stream and trees. A huge corner leather couch I could sleep on for days but then there is so much to explore. We drove way out on Hole in the Rock Road and found Devil's Garden and a set of slot canyons in Peak-a-boo Gulch. Escalante has some nice restaurants (especially Circle D Eatery) but allows you to get way out in the middle of beautiful-nowhere very fast!

Superb place to stay in superb location for outdoor lovers
Roomy 2 bedrooms and living room. Kitchen that met our needs for in home dining. Many small extra touches in design and function. It was too cold in early May for us to use the outside patio, with barbecue grill, which is between the house and a canyon wall, but it would be a reason to come back by itself - particularly as it ought to be relatively cool on a hot summer day. Kristin was particularly helpful including great advice about the magnificent area.

Lovely home in an amazing location.
The property and home are beautiful and the Rex family so nice. Very comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. The small kitchenette and the bbq grill gave us ample supplies to cook dinners. Because of the location we were able to hike this incredible area every day.
Schönes Apartment im Erdgeschoss des Hauses des Besitzers. Etwas abseits gelegen.
The property was very cozy. It was clean very comfortable. It is in a very cool setting on a ranch with trails to hike. The restaurant right near the property was fantastic. We were very satisfied with our stay!

A gorgeous and comfortable home located in a beautiful canyon area!
The Res'x offer a home with all of the needed amenities for our travel in the land of Canyons. It was clean and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. We were delighted to find the B&B on sight operated by family, had a wonderful restaurant of which we took advantage of for 2 evening meals. We had on-the-go breakfasts for which their efficient kitchen was very suitable. The little time we spent there home was quiet and relaxing. This home is located close enough to the parks that they are very accessible, and even the drive to the parks was beautiful. The Rex's intruduced themselves to us and made themselves available if needed, but were discreet enough to give us privacy and space to enjoy our visit. This property is one we truly enjoyed and would whole heartedly recommend to others. Thanks to the Rexs for their wonderfully comfortable home and friendly accomodations.

Beautiful and Comfortable Base for Escalante
Kristen and her family were great hosts, and the suite is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The listing photo doesn't do it justice, as it truly is in a beautiful location, a short ways outside of town and with easy access to all that the area has to offer.

Clean and comfy
We stayed on the lower level of the Rex's home for 2 nights. The accommodations were perfect for me and my husband plus 20 year old son. Sandwiched between Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef, the location fit well into our Mighty 5 hiking tour by taking a day to conquer peek-a-boo gulch and spooky canyon in Grand Staircase; We also included breakfast at Slot Canyon Inn on the premises and enjoyed a good meal and fun conversation with the guests staying there. Kristen was prompt with responses and we had no trouble contacting her.

Homeowners Not as Prepared to Admit Guests as they Should Have Been
First the Good; Rental was clean and prepared. The property owners were helpful via email prior to stay.
The Not So Good; I had called the rental owner about 5 or 10 minutes prior to our arrival (which was later than I expected to be there but not very late...about 8pm) for directions (which he provided) but when we arrived shortly thereafter neither he or his wife were anywhere to be seen or found.
I did eventually locate a relative, I believe, who had no idea how to get into the rental or where the property owners were. This was about 10 minutes after I had spoken to him on the phone telling him I was on my way and where we were at the time.
Eventually the woman I found in the house called one of the rental property owners and was told how to let us in. This was after about 5 or 10 minutes of guessing and trying different doors on the 1st floor.
Then, when we left the next morning around 8am, again there wasn't anyone there to check out with. We spent about 10 or more minutes loading up the vehicle so I think that was plenty of time to at least say 'thanks for staying with us and sorry about the mix-up last night'.
Not sure if we should have used different deodorant or what but the personal touch and follow-up with their guests was sorely lacking at this property.

Beautiful place, great owners
Wow, what a beautiful property and home. We were so lucky to get to stay here at this beautiful ranch. Not only is it a gorgeous location with comfortable accommodations, the Rex family is incredibly nice and hospitable. They gave us a few tips about where to get food in town and made our stay great overall.

Beautiful clean house!
We knew we would like this house as we could tell from pictures that Kristen has the same taste in decor as we do, it was like staying in our own home! Super clean, had all that we needed and the bed was so comfortable we didn't want to get out of it. As others have said, we had two of our best dinners during our 12 day trip at the Slot Canyon Inn on the property and Kristen served us! The grass fed ribeye was one of the best steaks I have ever had, so tender you could cut it with a fork. We stayed here for two nights, the first night was after visiting Canyonlands and Goblin Valley, the 2nd night was after exploring Escalante Park. Then off to Bryce the next day.

Great location and beautiful grounds
My wife and two sons stayed one night and had a wonderful time. We hiked all around the property and closing moved the cliffs. We ended up not adventuring out as there was plenty of hiking and climbing and there. We ate in town and had dinner at their restaurant at the Inn, which is on the same property and only a five minute stroll. The kitchen is tiny so don't expect to cook, but they do have a grill if you are so inclined. Dinner at the restaurant was one of our favorite meals during our two week vacation and we had plenty of awesome meals. I highly recommend eating dinner there. After dinner the kids went back to the cabin while my wife and I enjoyed hebstars from the deck of the inn. The cabin is awesome, but there is no deck for star watching. The seating area they have is great for breakfast as it's shaded the covering blocks the stars. We loved our stay there.
