Bienvenue to Le Petit Bosquet- a stately former wine-makers house with lovely tree-studded grounds in the Cognac region of the Charente. This lovely property is just 20 minutes from Angouleme and one hour from Bordeaux.

Le Petit Bosquet offers bright, airy and spacious rooms sleeping 9- but there is a possibility of comfortably accommodating 1 or 2 additional people. Please enquire. The house offers 3 very large, bright and inviting bedrooms with comfortable beds and crisp white linens. The rooms offer views of the formal courtyard or a more rural outlook over farm fields and trees. All guests enjoy full linen service including both bath towels and pool towels.

A large kitchen opens up to a spacious dining area encouraging leisurely breakfasts or long convivial evenings. If alfresco dining is more to your taste the comfortable covered dining patio sits within the old winemakers barn and offers views onto the leafy courtyard.

The secluded private pool and sundeck area is tucked into a sunny corner of the former winemakers barn- framed by a gorgeous original limestone wall.

There is a small orchard producing seasonal fruits such as cherries and figs which guests are welcome to. The large back garden- set within the old stone walls- provides a safe and grassy space for children to kick around a ball or set up a game of badminton.

The centre courtyard is the heart of the property- providing cozy shaded corners to sit and enjoy the views. The glorious courtyard is the perfect setting for an intense game of boules over glasses of the local wine!

There are several pretty spots for dining alfresco, plus the old grange courtyard provides the perfect spot of evening bonfires compliments of our large fire pit.

The entire property is secure with parking for 2-3 cars, and is fenced offering families with children a safe haven to relax and enjoy open space in a lovely setting. We invite you to this lovely corner of France for a peaceful, gracious and fun-filled holiday.

Great stay in the Charente

Beautiful property for a very enjoyable month in the Charente. The large, light and spacious house has been restored so that it retains great character and style whilst blending modern conveniences with traditional features. Lovely outside garden space surrounding the house with choice of seating areas for outdoor lounging and dining plus a great pool too. Superb organisation and communication from the owner/host who is clearly committed to ensuring that guests have the most enjoyable stay possible and was just the right level of proactive, responsive and helpful. The quiet location in a small village may not be for everyone but suited our needs, with lots of walks, interesting areas and towns nearby and Angouleme with lots of good restaurants and shops less than 30 mins away. Highly recommended, thanks again very much Patrice!

Une maison idéale pour des vacances en famille, au calme

Nous sommes venus au petit Bosquet à 2 familles. La météo n'a malheureusement pas été au rdv. Mais la maison a fortement participé à "sauver nos vacances" Elle offre de nombreuses possibilité pour passer de bons moments en famille. Parties de cache cache, chasse au trésor, tournoi de flechettes, de foot, de batminton, de pétanque, de molky... Bref, la maison est magnifique, à l'extérieur et à l'intérieur. Le jardin est grand, clôturé et offre plein de possibilités pour s'amuser. Tout a été fait avec beaucoup de goût. L'annonce est conforme aux prestations. L'arrivée et les echanges avec les propriétaires ont été fluides. Bref, nous recommandons.

Great relaxing week

A family of 4 we have spent one great relaxing week in Le Petit Bosquet. The place is even better (and bigger) than in the pictures, beautifully renovated and with a lot of space, rooms are big. The garden is huge and very well arranged, with tables to enjoy outside lunch, darts, jeu de boules, BBQ, ... The swimming pool area is great also. The surroundings are extremely quiet. Restaurants and supermarket are available in 10-15 min drive. Patrice and his family gave us plenty of information and welcomed us themselves despite our late arrival. We really enjoyed the week there and we will definitely come back for another stay.

We are a family who has lived an International Lifestyle. We have for many years lived near France be it Switzerland, the UK or shores beyond- France has always been a draw. We love the culture, lifestyle and easy pace of living.

Why they chose this property

We loved the courtyard setting and the rural backdrop. The house retains so many original features but offers all-new baths and bright and airy spaces. We feel this offers the best of blending old with new providing us with a really comfortable place to enjoy our time.

What makes this property unique

All new kitchen and baths. A large private and secluded courtyard with an expansive back garden. The pool surround and fire pit which are created by retaining a portion of the former winemakers barn create a unique setting and focal point of the property.
