Rockwood Park is situated in a semi-rural area just outside East Grinstead. It is a large and elegant Victorian building built around 1850 which was converted into separate dwellings around 20 years ago. The property is painted cream and is surrounded by well maintained landscaped gardens with plants and shrubs and residents' parking. The grounds cover approximately 4 acres, including a tennis court and BBQ area.
This utterly charming extremely spacious apartment has a large light & bright sitting room. Well furnished with large sofa, a day-bed, easy chairs and a galley kitchen off the living room; It has a king-sized double bedroom, an upper hall, which can be used as an office; the lower hall contains storage cupboards and cupboards for Gas CH and combi-boiler. The apartment is extremely quiet and overlooks the gardens and beyond to a view of the Ashdown Forest.
Deer can sometimes be seen grazing in the garden at the back of the house at quiet times and a guest even saw a wild pig in the middle of the lawn one moonlit night!!
There is a good sized bathroom with a Velux window, adjacent to the bedroom which has a WC, hand-basin, power shower and bath.
Rockwood Park is 1 mile outside the town of East Grinstead. Guests can walk in any direction straight straight from the building to find beautiful walks and views, such as the National Trust property at Standen, half a mile away, get lost in the deer park opposite or walk to the reservoir. There is a good selection of supermarkets, cafes' restaurant, theatre and a cosy local cinema in the town. All is surrounded by beautiful countryside in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The towns of Tunbridge Wells & Crawley are 30 or 25 minutes away for major shopping expeditions, cinema, theatre, dining and more.
