We really enjoyed staying here, superb views and a very well equipped apartment.
We really enjoyed staying here, superb views and a very well equipped apartment. We are in no doubt that we will try to book again.
Lovely cliff walks to Coverack, a great pub serving good food ( especially their Sunday roast) and a good little village store for essentials.
The apartment was very clean, although we took our own bedding, and very quiet. A new mattress on the double bed would improve its comfort, but otherwise their is little to fault.
As they say, location is everything, brilliant to watch the sun rise over the sea, and a pod of dolphins playing in the bay as we ate breakfast.
Not suitable for families with children under 5, or for adults with mobility issues.

Wonderful location, yards from the coastal path with stunning views all around! Only a half mile walk along the coastal path to the village of Coverack which has an excellent fish and chip restaurant (the Old Lifeboat Station). The apartment is on the first floor and was very clean and Covid precautions appeared fully adhered to. There are two parking spaces allocated to this apartment. It is very well equipped with cooking utensils and plenty of fridge and freezer space. It would be helpful if the paperwork we were given advised it was Number 10 rather than just “Tamarisk” as there are a number of apartments and we had to search until we found the door with Tamarisk on it! Location probably suits those who enjoy walking along the coast although The Lizard peninsula has some lovely beaches.

We loved it at Tamarisk.
We loved it at Tamarisk. The views and location were totally amazing.
However, the building doesn’t have good noise insulation and we were disturbed at night by other residents stomping up and down the communal stairs and allowing their children to run around upstairs.
We also weren’t sure about the extra Covid cleaning measures as we found a lot of hairs in the beds and crumbs (?!). Luckily we’d brought our own bedding so it wasn’t a massive issue for us but might be for others.
Other than that, the place was lovely and clean.

Wife, sister-in-law (from USA) myself and dog 'Benji' visited.
Wife, sister-in-law (from USA) myself and dog 'Benji' visited. This is a stunning location. On top of cliff which means that, to get to local amenities, lots of walking some involving steep gradients.
Private and village beaches are good but only available for limited times each day dependent on tides. The property is located in its own gardens which are extensive, with its own tennis court.
We will certainly consider going back to the area. Village has limited amenities, especially shopping, but Sainsbury have a stall within 10 miles. Village shop does supply essentials. Good café and the restaurant located in the old Life Boat building is good. My wife and her sister are Japanese, and not easy to please but both enjoyed the holiday.

We stayed in Tamarisk for a week in September.
We stayed in Tamarisk for a week in September. We enjoyed our visit and the way in which the apartment was so well equipped. Little touches like a pint of milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and biscuits left for us mean a great deal when you arrive after a long drive. We had in fact brought everything we needed as previous experiences with self catering accommodation have required an uplift of my kitchen cupboards or a very expensive first shop in the locality as soon as we arrived. One such stay needed us to bring toilet rolls!!
Not so Tamarisk - there was salt, pepper, vinegar, sugar, kitchen rolls, cling film, tin foil, washing up liquid, tea towels etc all provided. Some people may wonder why I am listing this but when you are heading off it is the little things like this which you need. They also supply a hairdryer.
The apartment itself was beautifully presented as regards decor - nice paintings, furniture in a Cornish Coast theme. It is obviously an old building and there are some cracks in the walls and damage to skirtings etc but it was certainly very clean. The carpet gave us some misgivings at first as hard floors would have appeared more serviceable but presumably the noise issues in apartments prevent replacing the carpet - there was in any event a very good hoover in the cupboard.
When we arrived we thought the fridge seemed quite small if there was a family staying but a quick look around the corner revealed another fridge and freezer.
The beds are very comfortable and both they and the towels (of which there were plenty) were of excellent quality. One previous reviewer mentioned that there was nowhere to dry beach towels and this is true - I brought a small airer from home but this is perhaps something the owner might consider investing in.
All in all we considered Tamarisk a very enjoyable experience

Well I have serious holiday blues and I’m missing the truly amazing views.
Well I have serious holiday blues and I’m missing the truly amazing views. We had the best week, the apartment is comfy and the views are spectacular, the place is so quiet and in a perfect area to explore. They need to add a clothes airer to dry all of our wet towels after days at the beach but other than that perfect. The toys and games were a bonus in a cupboard and my daughter and I spent lots of time playing dominoes. The beach at the bottom is just lush and perfect for an evening bbq xx see you again, same time next year
