Conveniently set in Breckland on the borders of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk, a short drive from the pretty village of Northwold and Mundford on the edge of Thetford Forest National Park, less than an hour’s drive to the stunning North Norfolk Coast with miles of sandy beaches.Thetford Forest is Britain’s largest lowland pine forest and provides extensive walks and bicycle trails, the High Lodge forest centre is also the home of ‘Go Ape’. The imposing NT property Oxburgh Hall is a short drive, also convenient for Sandringham and the royal parks, the medieval port of Kings Lynn and the cathedral city of Ely. Comfortable cottage set in an attractive location in woodland.

Comfortable cottage set in an attractive location in woodland. Ideal for getting away from the hustle of urban living. Mobile users beware that there is virtually no mobile signal in the cottage and little better in the immediate surroundings. WI-FI worked adequately. TV is not a SMART one so you will need an alternative way of getting to BBC i-player etc. Generally well equipped otherwise. The bath is large and ideal for stretching out in after a long walk in the surrounding countryside. The kingsize bed was comfortable too. Great location, surrounded by woodland and a short distance to Thetford Forest. Well equipped with everything that you need. Bath is amazing. Beds were really comfortable. Lots of space despite looking small from the outside. Shower was great and powerful however some of the tiles were coming away from the wall and this enabled ants to crawl into the shower and bathroom, this didn't bother us but it may upset people who have an aversion to insects. The cottage is in such a peaceful location and being able to walk out of the cottage into the woods was fantastic. The owners were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay her again. We spent Christmas week there and is was perfect. It was nicely decorated for us. Lovely and warm cottage and in superb woods! The dog had the best time being walked many times a day in the woods. Our daughter also loved it. Can’t recommend this place enough. Paul and Vicky are fab hosts.

Second holiday here and will definitely return again. Cottage well equiped and bed soooo comfortable! Perfect out of the way location and excellent walking on site for the dog. Owners charming, friendly and helpful but not intrusive. 10 mins drive to Brandon for shops and petrol etc. A great place to relax and enjoy nature - especially the deer. Thank you for another wonderful week in The Forest.

Wow what a great find this place is! A gorgeous well equipped cottage set in private fenced woods. Lovely and quiet. The owners house is in same grounds but they are so lovely and friendly and are there to help if you need them but other than that you are left alone. The grounds are fantastic and great for dog walking and for the kids to explore. Lots to do in the surrounding areas, we will definitely be back and have already recommended this place to others.

A very relaxed week.

A very relaxed week. The woodland surrounding the cottage was fantastic, the dog loved chasing pretty much anything that moved. We could have easily spent the whole week at the cottage but forced ourselves out on a few occasions to visit the surrounding areas.

A perfect location with 70 acres of Thetford forest to yourself. The cottage was very well presented with the living area upstairs and two good sized bedrooms downstairs, one with en-suite facilities. It would be ideal for families with children and/or dogs.

perfect for a relaxing holiday.

perfect for a relaxing holiday. lots of interesting places to visit within a short drive whatever your hobbies are, bird watching and fly fishing are ours . have booked to return in a couple of months. our dog was safe in the enclosed area around forest cottage, miles of walks on your doorstep, although the owners house was opposite there was no feeling of intrusion. if you like lots of space, peace and quiet try this cottage.
