What a lovely spot! Beautiful waters with a sunny view.
What a lovely spot! Beautiful waters with a sunny view. Lots to do in the area. With many boats for hire and lots of fun to be had on them!
We stayed at Ripples Holiday Cottage for 7 nights in June 2023. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, loved the location, easy walking to several pubs and restuarants and all the activities on the Broads. We loved sitting outside on the deck and watch the world go by.
We appreciated receiving an email with our check in instructions well before we left Australia. Even in these times WI FI is not always readily available whilst travelling. Overall our stay was 10/10, we would definately go back
This property is equipped with everything needed for 2 guests, except towels, which I don't remember reading in the description. The owner does contact renters prior to arrival and he pointed out that towels weren't provided. Heating is by way of 2 portable heaters, one didn't work very well. There is a dimplex heater on the wall in the lounge and also the bedroom, we didn't think either was working, but then the one in the lounge came on. It did become cold when they were switched off.
The electric shower is a bit of a trickle and getting the temperature right is a bit of an issue.
The mattress is rather uncomfortable as other renters have pointed out.
Previous renters had complained of the transom windows not have a covering. Due to the height and shape of the window it would be difficult to open and close any window covering.
The property is located next to a boat yard and approximately equidistant from the village centre and the ferry inn, less than 10 minutes walk either way.
We had a lovely relaxing week.

Been staying at Ripples for over 10 years, it's got everything you need for a great holiday. Ideally located in a lovely popular village with fishing right outside the door, and not too far from all the attractions the broads has to offer. We'll be back next year!!

The cottage was lovely and clean and had a small kitchen but being south facing it was extremely hot during the day. The owner needs to install black out curtains in the bedroom and also a blackout covering for the window above the main bedroom window as I am a light sleeper and was awake every morning at 4am.

The outstanding feature is its location. Not only in terms to other areas of Norfolk re to the beach and Norwich but also it's easy and lovely walking distance to Horning Village. Which is a delight but THE feature is its verander at the back which has such a Beautiful view. Situated on the corner of a dyke with the nestling boats to the left and straight ahead.

The cottage was very clean and tidy and amble of room also the decking area was lovely to sit out and just watch the world go by at night and enjoy a drink or two. The kitchen was again big enough but could have a few more utensils .Most enjoyable week will book again as everything close to hand .

Well appointed and comfortable cottage in idyllic location, close enough to the river to see the world go by but private enough not to be disturbed. Great base to explore local area. Lucky to have picked a sunny week.

A peaceful retreat
I have just spent a very relaxing week in Ripples. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed, sofa and chairs were all extremely comfortable. The outside decks overlooking the water made this property a special place to stay. The owner was friendly and helpful . Horning is an excellent place to be and there is a lot to do in the surrounding area, but relaxing on the deck is a great temptation in good weather! I would definitely return to this property.

The location of the cottage is idyllic right on the waters edge, perfect for boat, people and wildlife watching.
However, although comfortable inside, the cottage itself needs some urgent TLC. The curtains are porous, almost see through and don’t meet in the middle. As a result, daylight streams through into the bedroom from the very early hours, involving very early wake up indeed.
The TV has a mind of its own, coming on by itself at all times of the day and night, there is a DVD player, but no DVD’s.
The outside decking is a nice place to sit and relax, but it is held up by black gaffer tape and green mould which makes it unsightly. The provision of a BBQ would improve the experience. Finally using the toaster ‘blows’ the electricity.
