Ideal for a couple, the property offers a light open plan living space and a double bedroom.

With access to over 2 miles of York’s medieval city walls, a maze of snickleways and ginnels, world renowned attractions and a plethora of fabulous shops, cafés and restaurants only a short stroll from the front door, you won’t be able to wait to explore this wonderful city. York is fast gaining a reputation as one of the UK’s ‘foodie’ capitals and you can find some seriously great food and even better tipples brewed within the city. Why not take a break from walking around the city and see the view from one of the open top tour buses or sail slowly along the River Ouse on a cruise boat?



Whether your interest is in the large trains on display at the National Railway Museum, the history of the chocolate industry at York’s Chocolate Story, or of marauding Vikings and invading Romans, York has something for everyone. A little further out of the city you can find Castle Howard, one of the UK’s finest stately homes, the Yorkshire Air Museum, Nunnington Hall and Eden Camp. Pickering, with the North York Moors Railway, Helmsley and Thirsk are all within half an hour’s drive. A great location, an easy walk to places of interest, shops and local transport. Safe car parking space right outside was a bonus. Friendly communication from host.Quiet, cosy, well set out flat, all furnishings and equipment included. Appreciated free WiFi and Netflix. It's worth considering mobility needs before booking, as by the fourth day, my usually active elderly dad was finding the one flight of stairs a challenge. Otherwise, would highly recommend this property.

Great location with the added bonus of a small parking space right outside the front door.As others have mentioned perhaps not ideal for older travellers as there are narrow stairs with a handrail on one side and two 90 degree angles to get to the main living area and bedroom.Lovely crisp bedlinen but for me the bed was uncomfortable as it is very hard, perhaps a mattress topper could be left for those who may feel they need it.The basics were there, cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. I wouldn't stay any longer than a few days as no washing machine. A pint of milk in the fridge and a few teabags were welcome after a long journey.Overall a great location with basic amenities which made for a good value for money break.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Toilet being on separate level was not much of an issue but if people of mobility issues it will be. Parking outside was a bonus but work vans can park awkwardly so if you are wanting to go out can block you in. But we didn't use vehicle we walked into York about 5 minutes flat walk. Very welcoming with fresh flowers and milk in fridge. Excellent position for York as Monkgate ( William 111 experience ) is 5 minutes walk away and about 10 minutes from the Minster. Accommodation easy to find with the directions given. Very cosy place. Would definitely book again and hopefully the weather will be better.

Great location, very contemporary décor, smashing for couples, extremely clean and cosy. Water pressure in the shower was not very forceful and the cubicle was a little cramped. We could have done with a shaver point in the bathroom to plug in our electric toothbrush. Wi Fi was spot on, all the kitchenware required. Owner left us fresh flowers, tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Plenty to do within walking distance, lovely pubs, places to eat, shop and be entertained. Wandering through historical streets in the warm spring sunshine was a total pleasure. We'll definitely be back!

Perfect location,cosy and comfortable to return to .It just 2 mins across the road from the centre of York.Parking out-side the door saves a fortune in fees. Would certainly return.
